Chapter 30: Second Update
“You… you…” Lu Yingchi nearly jumped up, his entire body tense, his spirit on the verge of collapse. “Why the hell are you telling me this kind of thing!”
The Fourth Young Master of the Lu Family had grown up without ever touching a girl, except for holding Qiao Wu’s hand when he was a child.
The one time he was goaded into inviting a girl to drink on a yacht, not only was he rejected, but Qiao Wu also pinned him down by the knees and poured a whole bottle of alcohol over his head.
How could he possibly listen to such talk!
Not getting the reaction she expected, Lu Ning’s eyebrows flattened. “Aren’t you happy for me?”
“Happy for you…”
Lu Yingchi was truly exasperated.
Why should he be happy about something like this!
Seeing Lu Ning hugging her schoolbag and furrowing her brows, he took a deep breath. “Fine, I’m happy for you, okay? Do you want me to go buy a couple of firecrackers to set off for you?”
“That might be a bit too much,” Lu Ning hesitated, then shyly asked, “Can we set off firecrackers at home?”
She could afford it with her allowance.
Lu Yingchi couldn’t take it anymore. “Don’t cause trouble.”
“Forget it,” Lu Ning was somewhat appeased. “I need to do my homework. Are you coming?”
Lu Yingchi frowned, looking her up and down. “You can still do homework?”
Lu Ning: “?”
Why not?
In Lu Yingchi’s limited understanding, his old friends had once mentioned that during certain days, girls often felt restless, irritable, and had backaches, making it hard for them to focus on anything.
Some even exaggerated that the pain could make them faint.
But looking at Lu Ning, she seemed full of energy, even eager to do her homework.
Could it be that different people experience different symptoms?
But one thing he remembered clearly—”Just go along with it.”
Otherwise, others would suffer.
She was already a handful; if she became even harder to manage, it would be a disaster.
He reluctantly agreed. “Fine.”
On the way to the Repository of Books, Lu Ning was still skipping along.
Lu Yingchi couldn’t understand how she could be so cheerful about something that was supposed to be so painful and uncomfortable. “What exactly are you so excited about?”
“You wouldn’t understand,” Lu Ning said with an air of wisdom. “Qiao Wu said I’ve grown up, and growing up means I can do whatever I want.”
Although she still didn’t know what she wanted to do, the idea of “growing up” was very appealing to her.
Lu Yingchi imagined the scene of this little girl bouncing up to Qiao Wu and enthusiastically telling her, “I’ve started my period,” and felt dizzy.
“You told Qiao Wu?”
“She came to me,” Lu Ning explained, now feeling that this was nothing to be ashamed of after Qiao Wu’s reassurance. The doctor said it was normal!
“She taught me…”
“Stop!” Lu Yingchi, still shaken, covered her mouth to prevent her from spouting nonsense, feeling a headache coming on. “Did she also tell you to go around announcing it?”
Lu Ning struggled: “Mmmph!”
Lu Yingchi parted his fingers, giving her just enough space to speak while preventing her from saying anything outrageous.
“She said I could share happy things with you,” Lu Ning blinked, pursed her lips, and added, “Besides, you’re my uncle.”
Lu Yingchi was momentarily stunned.
He had never heard Lu Ning call him “uncle” before.
It seemed to be a tradition in the Lu Family—there was no strict hierarchy. The Old Man was the Old Man, and Lu Jinzhi was Lu Jinzhi.
So he never thought there was anything wrong with Lu Ning not calling him “Uncle.”
“What do you call me?” he asked.
Lu Ning’s ears turned red: “Lu Yingchi!”
“Can’t be bothered to argue with you,” Lu Yingchi let go of her and tugged at her ponytail, snorting, “Don’t just blurt out anything. Remember, you’re a girl.”
She probably hadn’t fully understood what Qiao Wu meant by “sharing,” or perhaps she had never shared anything with anyone before, so she lacked experience.
Lu Yingchi forgave her.
But at that moment, he suddenly realized something: Lu Ning was a girl. Her growth process was different from theirs, a group of grown men. The Old Man hadn’t noticed this issue either, raising Lu Ning the same way he had raised them.
If Qiao Wu hadn’t been there today, what would have happened to Lu Ning?
She definitely wouldn’t have come to share it with him.
For the first time, Lu Yingchi became aware that there was a growing child in the house, one who had never been given much attention.
He glanced at Lu Ning and, for the first time since arriving at the Repository of Books, didn’t deliberately crack walnuts for her.
Instead, he took out his phone and started searching for parenting guides.
After some thought, he realized that Lu Ning’s age was no longer suitable for parenting, so he switched to searching for adolescent mental health management.
As he searched, Lu Yingchi couldn’t stop grumbling in his mind.
I wasn’t even this serious when I was raising myself!
Lu Ning diligently finished all her weekend homework at the Repository of Books. Tomorrow, she would be attending a banquet, so she wouldn’t have time to do her homework then.
During lunch, Lu Yingchi, sitting next to Qiao Wu, lowered his voice: “Next time, tell her to stop saying those weird things. It’s unsettling.”
“What did she say to you?”
“She said…” Lu Yingchi gritted his teeth, “I can’t even say it out loud.”
Qiao Wu glanced at Lu Ning, who was busy eating, and vaguely guessed what had happened.
She didn’t have many friends, but she was very obedient. After spending the morning with Lu Yingchi, she might have been eager to share her new experiences.
“Lu Ning,” she called out.
Lu Ning looked up from her bowl: “Hmm?”
Qiao Wu smiled: “Let’s go shopping this afternoon.”
“!!!”
Although they had planned to go shopping over the weekend, there was a banquet at home this Sunday. Lu Ning thought Qiao Wu would be too busy, so she hadn’t brought it up again.
She knew her place compared to Lu Jinzhi.
She didn’t even finish her meal, put down her chopsticks, and ran upstairs: “I’ll go change!”
Lu Yingchi was baffled.
“I told you to talk to her, not take her out,” he complained. “I’m coming too.”
Qiao Wu: “This is her reward. It’s not your turn yet.”
“I’ve been working tirelessly to tutor her, cracking over ten pounds of walnuts,” Lu Yingchi laughed in frustration. “And I have to listen to her nonsense all the time. Even if there’s no reward, I should at least get some compensation for mental distress!”
“Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do as an uncle?” Qiao Wu took a piece of watermelon from her plate and handed it to him. “I’ll take you next time.”
“Hmph, I’m already full of empty promises.”
Despite his words, Lu Yingchi’s actions were honest. He angrily bit into the watermelon she was holding, even proudly holding the fork in his mouth without letting go.
Qiao Wu: “…”
Good thing she hadn’t used that fork yet.
“Are you a dog?” she sighed. “Hold it with your hand.”
Why does he always like to eat from someone else’s hand?
Lu Yingchi hummed a couple of times as he took the fork from her hand and proceeded to pick a lot of fruit from her plate to eat.
Qiao Wu had no choice but to place the entire plate in front of him, noticing that the plate in front of him hadn’t been touched at all.
Catching her gaze, Lu Yingchi protectively shielded his own plate, his eyes flickering, “What are you looking at? I’m tall, still growing, and I eat a lot.”
“Alright,” Qiao Wu raised an eyebrow, “Eat up, I’ll wait for you to grow another ten centimeters.”
She also needed to change her clothes before going out, so she didn’t linger in the dining room for long.
After she left, Lu Yingchi quickly finished the fruit from her plate, but when it came to his own plate, his movements slowed down considerably.
Why does it feel like his own doesn’t taste as good as hers?
He bit the fork, his throat gently moving. Compared to the tempting piece of watermelon, what he saw first was still her hand.
Unlike when they were children, those hands had lost their plumpness, becoming slender and delicate, even the nails were meticulously cared for, showing a hint of pink, as if they would leave a mark at the slightest touch.
They didn’t seem like the same hands anymore, yet he still wanted those hands to feed him.
Even more so than when they were children.
Lu Yingchi was puzzled, but since he had already spoken, he forced himself to stuff the remaining fruit into his stomach despite feeling full.
–
Lu Ning had just changed her clothes and came downstairs when she saw Qiao Wu driving over. She quickly climbed into the passenger seat, hugging her bag to her chest, “Where are we going?”
“To the mall first.”
Qiao Wu had thought about it in the morning. Lu Ning’s first time wasn’t just her period, but also many other firsts that no one had guided her through, so she planned to take some time to slowly teach her.
This way, she wouldn’t suddenly say something that would scare Lu Yingchi in the future.
Arriving at the mall, she first took Lu Ning to a lingerie store.
Lu Ning, blushing, hid behind her as they entered, never expecting that shopping would be like this.
She wasn’t unaware of her changes, but since she often wore her school uniform and many brands sent clothes that considered her age, she always received appropriate outfits.
But coming out to buy was a first for her.
“Why are you shy?” Qiao Wu pulled her out, “Everyone wears these, and it’s all sisters here, see?”
Lu Ning whispered, “I have some at home.”
“Even if you have some at home, when brands come to deliver clothes, don’t they need to know your size?”
Qiao Wu said gently, “What will you do then?”
The salespeople waiting to serve them nearby: “!!!”
What kind of family has brands delivering clothes to their home?!
“Every stage is different, the sisters here are professionals, they’ll tell you what kind of clothes you need to wear when,” Qiao Wu took her bag into her own hands, “You need to know yourself well, understand?”
Lu Ning pursed her lips.
“I’ll be with you.”
Only then did Lu Ning nod gently.
The salespeople, seeing the young girl so reserved, immediately understood why and smiled as they approached, “Little sister, let me introduce you to what’s suitable for your age…”
Lu Ning was pushed to pick out many pink and tender little outfits. On her way to the fitting room, she turned back with an armful.
Qiao Wu indeed stayed quietly by her side, nodding at her with a gentle smile.
At this moment, Lu Ning’s heart truly settled down.
Finally, she walked out of the lingerie store carrying several bags: “I don’t want anyone to send clothes home for me anymore.”
“Why?”
“Buying clothes seems more fun.” Lu Ning looked up, “I’ll also work hard to report… no, to study hard. Will you still accompany me?”
Qiao Wu chuckled, “If I have time.”
Alright then.
“What if,” Lu Ning pushed her luck, “if I do well in my final exams, will you go on a trip with me?”
“A trip?”
“Yeah.”
It’s a bit embarrassing to admit, but although Lu Ning never lacked food, clothes, or pocket money, she had never traveled far.
No one restricted her movements, but no one accompanied her either.
So she had never been on a trip. Whether it was her former or current classmates, they always talked about how their parents took them on vacations during holidays. Every time this came up, she was more likely to get into fights with her classmates.
“If you don’t have time, it’s fine.” Lu Ning tried to cover for herself, “I know you’re very busy.”
“Not that busy.” Qiao Wu also thought about the child’s experiences. She bent down to look at the child who was trying hard not to seem too concerned, “Whether you do well or not, I’ll take you on a trip.”
Lu Ning’s eyes widened slightly, “Really?”
“Yes.” Qiao Wu nodded, “Did you forget what I told you when you transferred schools? Enjoy yourself first, then think about studying.”
Lu Ning immediately straightened up and snatched all the bags from Qiao Wu’s hands, “I’ve saved a lot of pocket money. Don’t worry, you’ll be on paid leave.”
Qiao Wu couldn’t stop laughing at the child’s seriousness.
It was still early, and considering how long the child had been looking forward to this, she wasn’t in a hurry to take Lu Ning back. Instead, they wandered around the mall, “We’ll eat out today. What do you want to eat?”
Lu Ning didn’t hesitate, “Hotpot!”
The Lu Family’s dining table was too big. If they wanted to have hotpot, they would have to switch to a smaller table. In the past, no one would have been willing to sit so close together and cook food in the same pot.
Even if someone was craving it, they would eat their own portion separately.
So Lu Ning had always been full of fantasies about hotpot, or rather, she had fantasies about any food that allowed her to sit closely with others.
“Alright, I’ll take you for hotpot today.”
Lu Ning loved shopping. Even if the stores didn’t sell clothes, shoes, or bags that suited her, she would still walk into each one and browse.
Then she would occasionally turn around and point at something, saying, “This suits you.”
Shopping is a girl’s nature. When Qiao Wu saw something she liked, she would also take a closer look. She was happy to buy herself some beautiful things to make up for the regrets of the past years.
So she tried on quite a few things. Every time she walked out of the fitting room, Lu Ning would be sitting on the sofa outside, scrutinizing her carefully, just like when she had picked out glasses for her.
Then she would pull out her card and say generously, “Buy it!”
Qiao Wu: “…”
Indeed, she’s from the Lu Family. The overbearing president aura was cultivated from a young age.
Qiao Wu pressed her hand back, “Why are you buying things for me?”
Lu Ning, of course, wouldn’t admit that she had heard from Lu Xuan that the clothes and jewelry Qiao Wu wore weren’t cheap, so her standards were high.
It would cost a lot of money to support Qiao Wu.
Coincidentally, she had the money!
“If you like it, I’ll buy it for you.” Lu Ning insisted, “If they don’t step up, I’ll support you.”
Several sales assistants were so envious that they could almost grind their teeth to dust.
“I’m not so poor that I need a child to spend money for me,” Qiao Wu said as she tucked Lu Ning’s card back into her bag. “Keep it for now. Didn’t you say you wanted to take me on a trip? You can spend it then.”
Does traveling cost a lot of money?
Lu Ning hadn’t calculated it yet. She planned to figure it out when she got back.
Come to think of it, Lu Yingchi’s yacht was quite expensive. Yes, she would need to buy another yacht.
Oh no, it seems like she would have to inherit the family fortune after all.
At such a young age, Lu Ning began to make her first plans for her future career and life.
She must have money, and she must be able to support Qiao Wu.
Walking through such a large mall, store by store, was truly exhausting. In the end, the two of them were too tired to continue and decided to sit down at a nearby hotpot restaurant.
Lu Ning carefully tugged at her skirt as she sat down.
She had just bought this skirt in the store. Qiao Wu said it looked good, and she liked it too, so she had changed into it right away.
Only now did Lu Ning feel a slight hesitation. The smell in the hotpot restaurant was so strong that the clothes might not be wearable after this. She wished they hadn’t come here.
She glanced around and whispered, “I need an apron.”
Qiao Wu, sitting across from her, was wiping the utensils. She looked up and asked, “Who are you talking to?”
“The waiter,” Lu Ning replied, confused.
Qiao Wu placed the cleaned utensils in front of her and said calmly, “They’re not servants from our home, nor are they family. Everyone has their own job title, and politeness is the basics, isn’t it?”
Lu Ning was used to the servants at home obeying her every command, and she was also used to arguing with Lu Yingchi and the others. Sometimes, she unconsciously brought those habits from home into the outside world.
So Qiao Wu didn’t want her to continue like this. Even saying “thank you” could make the people at home feel uncomfortable.
Lu Ning pursed her lips and raised her hand, just like her teacher at school had taught her. “Waiter, I need an apron.”
“Hello, an apron, right?” The waiter brought it over and, noticing her white skirt and exposed arms, asked, “Would you like a pair of sleeves as well?”
“Yes,” Lu Ning replied, taking the items. She instinctively glanced at the person across from her and then stiffly added, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” the waiter said, having already noticed the people at this table.
Whether they were sisters or not, they were both so beautiful that they stood out in the crowd.
“You two are really beautiful,” the waiter couldn’t help but compliment. “Are you sisters?”
Lu Ning was momentarily stunned.
Sisters?
“She’s…” She suddenly found it hard to say the word “housekeeper,” because compared to a housekeeper, she felt she had found a more fitting term for Qiao Wu.
One that better reflected their closeness and uniqueness.
“Yes,” Lu Ning blurted out before the person across from her could respond. “We are!”
“No wonder you both have such great looks,” the waiter said with a smile. “Enjoy your meal.”
Lu Ning lowered her head and stared at the broth in the pot, not daring to look up at Qiao Wu.
What if she didn’t agree with this term? That would be so embarrassing.
Qiao Wu noticed her head sinking lower and lower. “Are you going to dip your head in the pot and cook it too?”
Lu Ning straightened up, clumsily tied the apron around herself, and put on the sleeves. After calming down a little, she finally looked up. “Do we look alike? She said we’re sisters.”
Qiao Wu replied, “No.”
“Oh.”
She knew it.
Qiao Wu could easily see her disappointment. A thirteen-year-old child was too easy to read. She smiled and said, “You’re much cuter than I was when I was young.”
Lu Ning’s face instantly turned red.
She had received so much kindness outside today. So this was what the outside world was like.
The energy of young people was always so boundless. After finishing a meal, Lu Ning felt like she was ready for more. She didn’t want to go home so early, and coincidentally, there was a square outside the mall. Taking advantage of the high weekend foot traffic, a large-scale national trend parade was happening. After putting their things back in the car, she dragged Qiao Wu to the scene.
In her previous life, Qiao Wu hadn’t had much time to experience life beyond hard work, and in this life, she had been confined for a long time, so she didn’t mind these activities either, except for it being a bit crowded.
The parade featured massive illuminated floats with a national style, each float carrying a band performing, and occasionally, lucky audience members were invited to interact.
Worried that Lu Ning might get separated in the crowd, Qiao Wu held her hand tightly.
But because there were so many people, her glasses were knocked off her face and fell to the ground. Bending down to pick them up at that moment wasn’t a good idea, so she just glanced down and decided to leave them, planning to get a new pair another day.
Suddenly, the noise around her grew louder, and the crowd seemed to part, forming a circle around her.
A pair of hands appeared in front of Qiao Wu. She looked up and saw that the lead float of the parade had stopped in front of her, and the person sitting next to it was extending a hand, inviting her to join them on the float for an interaction.
Qiao Wu smiled and shook her head, raising the hand that was holding Lu Ning’s to indicate that she had a companion.
But the person didn’t give up and gestured that both of them could come up.
Lu Ning had never experienced anything like this before and was excited, eagerly tugging at Qiao Wu’s hand.
Seeing this, Qiao Wu had no choice but to take her onto the float. In an instant, the noise around them grew even louder.
Not far from there, in a private Chinese restaurant, Lu Jinzhi returned from the restroom and heard the commotion coming from the phone of the person sitting across from him.
Seeing him return, Xu Zhao instinctively went to put his phone away, but when he caught sight of a certain face, he suddenly exclaimed, “Butler Qiao?”
Lu Jinzhi glanced up at him: “It seems you have a deep impression of her.”
“No, no, no,” Xu Zhao hurriedly shook his head, then realizing his words were off, quickly added, “Yes, I do have a rather deep impression of her.”
Noticing that the more he spoke, the deeper the smile on his boss’s face became, Xu Zhao felt a chill run down his spine.
The last time the boss smiled like this, the Third Young Master of the Lu Family had his card suspended.
He hadn’t received his salary yet!
Before his salary was in jeopardy, Xu Zhao quickly turned his phone around and handed it over: “I mean, this looks like Butler Qiao.”
Lu Jinzhi glanced at it.
Amidst the noisy and flashy livestream, there were two familiar faces, one of whom he had seen just before leaving home.
The scrolling comments on the livestream page were densely packed.
[This is no ordinary passerby; it must be someone their team hired. How could a random passerby be this good-looking? I don’t believe it!]
[I need the address of this place within a minute; I’m flying over there.]
[Ahhh, my wife whom I’ve never met before, bring the camera closer!]
As if knowing what the audience wanted to see, the camera zoomed in closer and closer, directly focusing on that strikingly beautiful face, lingering for a long time.
Lu Jinzhi averted his gaze: “It’s her.”
Although she was the housekeeper, there was no strict working hours. As long as her tasks were done, she could go wherever she wanted and do whatever she pleased.
Lu Jinzhi considered himself not to be such a heartless capitalist.
“Did you arrange this? It seems like an event being held at Qingwan Plaza,” Xu Zhao said.
The Lu Family had recently acquired the company that owned Qingwan Plaza, so the malls under its umbrella often hosted various events to attract customers.
He expressed his affirmation: “Butler Qiao’s image indeed fits very well.”
Lu Jinzhi took a sip of tea and glanced at him lightly: “If your judgment has deteriorated to the point where you can compare this cheap camera work to her value, then you can submit your resignation letter tomorrow.”
Xu Zhao instantly broke into a cold sweat.
From the boss’s words, he could only hear four words.
Salary card, danger!
But if he wasn’t mistaken, the boss meant…
The value of this event’s customer attraction was cheap compared to Butler Qiao?
He glanced down at the livestream’s popularity; since some influencers were also present, it had several million viewers.
Is Butler Qiao that amazing? To receive such affirmation under President Lu’s discerning eye.
He quickly tried to salvage the situation: “She must have gone there to have fun. That place is always lively. Also, Butler Qiao is so good-looking; anyone who sees her would be deeply impressed. It’s normal for them to invite her.”
This time, Lu Jinzhi didn’t respond.
Xu Zhao only felt that money was hard to earn and shit was hard to eat; it seemed like nothing he said could gauge the other’s thoughts.
He shouldn’t have been greedy for this meal; wouldn’t it have been better to just stay home and relax?
By the time Lu Jinzhi finished dinner, it was already 9 PM. The private dining restaurant wasn’t far from Qingwan Plaza, and on the way back to the Lu Residence, they had to pass by it. When the car arrived, the place was still packed inside and out, with only the slow-moving parade floats visible through the crowd.
It should be ending soon.
The team responsible for the event, seeing the unprecedented popularity of both the livestream and the on-site crowd, couldn’t bear to let the two beauties on the lead float step down. They warmly invited them to stay on the float until the very end and even gifted them the event’s national trend cyberpunk eye-lights.
The staff on the lead float were also very considerate: “It’s not safe to get off here with so many people around. We’ll drop you off in a less crowded area.”
Qiao Wu was also a bit worried about Lu Ning, so she nodded.
The float slowly moved outward, and the staff member continued, “We have a closing ceremony here. Would you be willing to participate and help out?”
Qiao Wu had seen the acquisition plan for the company that owned Qingwan Plaza in the documents Xie Yi had provided, so she understood the purpose of this event in driving traffic.
Since it was all in good fun and could also earn some extra money for Lu’s, she didn’t mind and asked, “What kind of ceremony?”
“When the lead float stops, there will be an unsigned poster hanging at the front. We have a bow here, and you can shoot an arrow towards it to unveil the poster. The staff will handle the rest.” The bow came with an arrow, and Qiao Wu noticed that the arrow had been modified to be safe.
However, it seemed to have been designed for adults, as it was a bit too large for Lu Ning to handle.
Qiao Wu took the bow and said, “Alright.”
Due to the distance and direction of the lead float, there weren’t many people around.
She wasn’t wearing her glasses, and the poster was quite far away, so she had to squint slightly.
Surrounded by the sound system, amidst the deafening countdown from the staff, Qiao Wu raised her hand and aimed the bow at the poster. The large screen behind her was broadcasting the final moment.
Those who couldn’t see the lead float turned their attention to the big screen.
On the screen, the person raised her arm, forming a beautiful and powerful arc. Her chin was slightly tucked in, and her posture was perfect. The lights on her face gave her a cool, composed appearance.
As the countdown reached “1,” the arrow was released in an instant.
With a loud “bang,” the arrow exploded into a firework near the poster, and the promotional poster fell, causing a wave of excitement.
At the same time, fireworks began to go off around them, and colorful ribbons slowly drifted down from the sky.
Qiao Wu smiled slightly, lowered her hand, and her gaze inadvertently swept across the camera. The image froze at that moment, and the advertisement for the event began to play.
But that final glance was etched into the hearts of countless people both at the scene and watching the live stream. The cheers around her were deafening.
No one cared whether she was just a passerby or an ordinary person. At that moment, this woman was a goddess in their eyes.
Everyone wanted to get a closer look at her, just in case she was a celebrity! Getting a signature now wouldn’t hurt in the future!
The crowd began to press in, and Qiao Wu quickly got off the float, grabbed Lu Ning, and hurried away.
It was a bit far to go around to the parking lot, and she was mentally planning the route when a familiar car pulled up by the roadside. She paused slightly.
The driver got out and opened the door for her, saying, “Young Miss, Little Qiao Butler.”
Without hesitation, Qiao Wu pulled Lu Ning forward and quickly ushered her into the car.
Lu Ning’s eyes met the person inside the car, and the lights on her glasses reflected off his handsome face, flashing in various colors, making her heart race. She was afraid Lu Jinzhi might say something like “a chicken that can dance.”
She shrunk back and said, “Second Uncle.”
To her surprise, Lu Jinzhi simply responded with a faint smile and asked, “Afraid of me?”
Lu Ning quickly scrambled to the farthest seat from him, saying, “No!”
Lu Jinzhi: “…”
He didn’t say anything more but instead gave a slight smile to the person who had just gotten into the car.
This couldn’t be blamed on him, could it?
Qiao Wu was also quite helpless.
The driver had already closed the car door, isolating them from the noise and crowd outside. Qiao Wu breathed a sigh of relief, “Why are you here?”
Actually, he should have left long ago.
But at the moment Lu Jinzhi was about to leave, he noticed an additional person on the big screen. The camera, at that moment, had its cheapness softened.
He suddenly remembered there was something he hadn’t done today, so he asked the driver to stop.
“I came to report that I’m safe,” he said.
