Shocking! The Villainous Wife’s Husband Turns Out to Be the Capital’s Young Master Chapter 8

Chapter 8: Are You Cursing Me?

Xu Shuli really didn’t expect her cousin’s married life to be like this, but Wei Ting had always had a cold face, so she was happy to see someone put him in his place.

“Cousin, haven’t you been to the gym lately?”

“Middle-aged men can’t be so carefree.”

Jin Zhao chimed in, “Yeah, Husband, you’re 29; you need to mature soon.”

Wei Ting handed the things to a nearby maid, his gaze sweeping over Jin Zhao. “You two stay here.”

“Where should we stay?” Xu Shuli asked her sister-in-law.

Jin Zhao: “Somewhere cool.”

Jin Zhao watched Wei Ting and Wei Sheng follow the old master into the study. Only she and Xu Shuli remained in the inner hall, looking at each other.

“I studied abroad and just graduated this year. I’m preparing to come back to work.” Xu Shuli had heard some bad rumors about Jin Zhao before, but seeing her today, she thought the rumors were fabricated.

“Sister-in-law, what are your hobbies?”

Jin Zhao thought hard for a moment. “Does spending money count?”

“We think alike!” Xu Shuli laughed and linked arms with her.

Jin Zhao almost cried; this was a great start, with a newbie gift and a new best friend.

When Wei Ting and the others came downstairs, they saw the two chatting animatedly.

Jin Zhao and Xu Shuli’s common topics were simple: clothes, bags, jewelry, and male models.

“What are you two talking about? So happy.” The old master rarely saw the house so lively and was in a good mood.

“Global economics,” Jin Zhao answered seriously.

Everything related to spending money was part of the economy.

“I remember Jin Zhao studied design. She also understands finance; she has a lot in common with Wei Ting.” The old master raised his hand slightly, and the maid brought several sandalwood boxes to Jin Zhao’s side.

“The wedding was rushed; this is a small gift from this old man.”

Jin Zhao straightened her back, seeing the jewelry in the boxes and almost laughing out loud. Now, she wouldn’t let go of Wei Ting, this money tree.

“Grandpa, don’t worry, I’ll take good care of Wei Ting.” Jin Zhao solemnly promised, looking at Wei Ting with a gentle gaze.

Your father’s poker face, will you go broke if you show some reaction?

“Wei Ting is older than you; what’s there to take care of? The most important thing is that you are harmonious as a couple so I can hold my great-grandchild soon.”

Jin Zhao then made eye contact with Wei Ting, seeing him raise his eyebrows slightly. She finally understood what he meant by “look forward to it” yesterday. It was about having a child.

The price was too high; Jin Zhao instantly became listless.

“She’s still a student; no rush.”

The quiet person finally spoke.

Jin Zhao looked incredulous. She only knew that the original female lead, Su Yi, was in university, and the female supporting character caused trouble everywhere but wasn’t mentioned as a student.

“She’ll graduate soon anyway. We need to put it on the agenda.” The old master conceded slightly.

Xu Shuli pulled Jin Zhao. “Sister-in-law, you’re actually younger than me?”

Jin Zhao smiled wryly. She only just found out. There was no memory of university in her mind, showing that the original owner never went to school.

It was good that it was university. If she had been transported to high school and had to take the college entrance exam, that would have been the most desperate way to die.

After dinner, the old master insisted they stay at the old house for the night, saying the house hadn’t been so lively in a long time.

“Go tell Grandpa you need another room.” Jin Zhao followed Wei Ting upstairs, poking the man’s back.

The maid opened the door and left, leaving them staring at each other.

Wei Ting, with his suit jacket draped over his arm, spoke softly.

“Then Grandpa will know we have a sham marriage.”

“Who demanded a sham marriage, and who told me not to overstep my bounds and behave myself?” Jin Zhao felt justified. “If you don’t want to share a room with me, you’ll have to speak up.”

She wouldn’t ruin her image and status.

“Circumstances forced me.” Wei Ting entered the room, glancing at the person still standing at the door. “If Grandpa knows it’s a sham marriage, you’ll have to give up those gifts.”

“Then…it’s not impossible to compromise.”

Jin Zhao felt she was a model of adaptability.

There was a bathroom in the room. After washing up, Jin Zhao looked at the only double bed and pondered.

Wei Ting, wearing a bathrobe, dried his hair as he walked past her.

Jin Zhao knew Wei Ting was still wary of her; he wouldn’t sleep with her; he wasn’t infatuated.

But she still hoped he wasn’t too heartless.

“Husband, how should we sleep?  Should we divide the bed?”

“Do you need to ask?” Wei Ting naturally leaned against the headboard, picking up a finance magazine from the nightstand and reading leisurely.

The meaning was clear.

Wei Ting must have been a disciple of a heartless master in his past life—

…a dog.

Jin Zhao had cursed him a hundred times in her heart.  Puffing out her cheeks, she hugged a blanket and made a bed on the floor. Thankfully, there was underfloor heating; it wasn’t cold on the floor.

Wei Ting was about to turn off the bedside lamp when he saw the person buried in the blanket.  Even from the back, there was a sense of anger and indignation.

“Are you cursing me?” he asked slowly.

Jin Zhao turned to look at him, feeling both aggrieved and shocked. “Did I accidentally say it out loud?”

Since she had started, she might as well finish. “I was married off while still in university.  It’s inhumane. I can’t have children within two years of graduation; I still need to work.”

“So you’re angry about school starting?” Wei Ting was somewhat incredulous.

“It’s hard for a despairing twenty-something to understand.” Jin Zhao was full of resentment. “Just thinking about classes, early morning classes, exams, and graduation presentations makes me want to die.”

Wei Ting raised his hand and turned off the light. The room fell into darkness. His indifferent voice was devoid of emotion. “What’s the big deal? Your family should be grateful you’re not causing trouble.”

School was just a formality for her.  When they first got married, his subordinates would report Jin Zhao’s schedule to him.

There were only two things she did: chasing after Lu Sichen and bullying his girlfriend.

She basically skipped classes and exams.

So later, he withdrew the people watching Jin Zhao; she was useless.

Jin Zhao finally understood that this university was probably also a result of her powerful background. She just didn’t expect that she would have to go back to school now that she was successful.

It was terrible news, thankfully it wasn’t high school.

Late at night, Jin Zhao finally felt the disadvantages of sleeping on the floor.  It was hard, and her shoulders ached.  She tiptoed up to sit in the living room for a while.

The person on the bed slept properly.  If it weren’t for his steady breathing, Jin Zhao almost thought he was dead.

If he were dead, she’d be content with 1/10 of his inheritance.

Please, God, let him die soon.

She carefully opened the bedroom door, went downstairs to the living room, and poured herself a glass of water. “No gentlemanly spirit at all, actually letting a girl sleep on the floor. I hope he gets a stiff neck tomorrow…”

She muttered for a while, and when she turned to go upstairs, she was startled by the person standing in the living room.

“Ghost—”

Jin Zhao looked closely with the light from her phone and found it was Wei Sheng.  She felt embarrassed. “Dad, why aren’t you asleep yet?”

Wei Sheng looked at the woman before him and asked in a low voice, “How are you considering what I told you?  Didn’t I ask for an answer the next day?”

Jin Zhao’s memory was incomplete; she had no impression of this matter, but Wei Sheng’s gaze was so sinister that she didn’t dare to answer casually.

“Dad, I fell and hit my head a few days ago, and I don’t remember some things clearly. Could you say it again? I’ll reconsider.”

Wei Sheng’s eyes were suspicious. He thought something was wrong with her today. Had Wei Ting discovered that he had contacted Jin Zhao, so he directly replaced her and sent her here as an undercover agent?

He didn’t dare to believe easily.

“Since you’re injured, take care of yourself.” Wei Sheng said coldly and turned to leave.

Jin Zhao was left alone in the living room, covered in cold sweat.  What kind of den of vipers was the Wei family?  One by one, they were suspicious of her and exploiting her.

She just wanted to get rich and live; was that too much to ask?

Jin Zhao tiptoed upstairs, opened the bedroom door, and prepared to go back to sleep. As soon as she entered the room, she found that no one was lying on the bed.

Before she could take a closer look, she was grabbed by the neck and pressed against the door, a dangerous aura washing over her.

“Where were you?”
