Wei Corporation’s conference room. Several high-level executives watched the man seated at the head of the table, particularly as his phone vibrated repeatedly beside him.
“Continue,” Wei Ting picked up his phone, glancing at the influx of messages.
He usually received concise messages from his contacts; this harassing barrage could only be from two people.
Gu Jue and now, Jin Zhao.
Wei Ting looked at the string of messages, tapping his fingers on the screen.
“Breathe.”
“What’s the matter?”
Qin Zhuli, his assistant, sitting beside him, saw the chat log on the phone and immediately began a series of calls to the people assigned to “watch” the young lady today.
The result? Everyone was dumbfounded. Nothing had happened; they’d just witnessed a play.
Jin Zhao: “Your wife almost suffocated~”
Jin Zhao: “Almost got my hands dirty from a nearly falling suitcase, thankfully it’s okay >ᴗo⌯ಣ”
Jin Zhao: “If my husband is willing to give me some emotional compensation, I’d be too embarrassed.”
Qin Zhuli looked at the live situation report from Jingda University. It wasn’t that she almost got hit; she almost hit someone else. Miss Jin was truly…
Eloquent.
Wei Ting’s expression was calm, but the person giving the report was sweating profusely, thinking he’d made a mistake with the data.
Jin Zhao waited happily for Wei Ting’s transfer.
After all, he hated being bothered and his favorite thing to do was transfer money to get rid of her.
Quickly use his favorite method to thoroughly humiliate her!
After a few seconds.
Wei Ting: “Since you’re embarrassed, then forget it.”
Jin Zhao: “?”
Forget it? She was going to commit suicide.
Wei Ting: “You wasted a minute of my meeting. Based on my value creation per minute, you should compensate me 44,444,000.”
Jin Zhao stared at the string of fours, finding it similar to the 222,222… Wei Ting had transferred to her last time.
She had recently discovered that Wei Ting, while seemingly cold and aloof, actually had… a slightly dark side.
She was curious about what Wei Ting looked like when he cried or in bed!
Jin Zhao: “Okay, husband, I have to go to class. The teacher wants our phones, heart.”
Jin Zhao didn’t know what teacher at Jingda would collect phones, but from now on, there was one.
As the car started, she glanced out the window at the two crazy people.
Lu Sichen’s eyes clearly lingered on her Rolls-Royce Phantom (a global limited edition) for several seconds.
“Uncle, let’s go.”
Only after seeing them drive away did Jin Zhao breathe a sigh of relief.
So close, almost forcibly fallen in love with a domineering CEO beggar.
Su Yi looked at the man with an unclear expression, showing a slightly lifted fingernail, “Ah… it hurts, I’m fine, you don’t need to worry about me.”
“Miss Jin can give you more career support, I understand…”
Lu Sichen retracted his gaze, “Do you think I, Lu Sichen, am the kind of man who eats soft rice? Come with me to my apartment immediately. This dorm is not worthy of my woman.”
He held Su Yi’s hand in his, her nail scratching his flesh. He suddenly remembered Jin Zhao’s diamond-encrusted manicure, making her hands look slender and elegant.
“Maybe I should get a manicure, to fix this injury,” Su Yi said shyly. She also liked that luxurious and refined life, but she couldn’t because of her persona.
Lu Sichen looked at her with a doting expression.
“Be good, we won’t do that. It’ll scratch my back in bed, don’t you have the heart?”
Su Yi’s face flushed, “Okay.”
As long as the plot progressed to her running away pregnant, then being found and marrying Lu Sichen, she could end this innocent white lotus act.
When Jin Zhao arrived at the lecture hall, many people didn’t recognize her, thinking she was someone who had gone for plastic surgery during the holiday.
Even Lin Rou took a while to recognize her, quickly approaching Jin Zhao.
“Zhao Zhao, you haven’t talked to me in ages. Did you forget about your good friend?”
Jin Zhao narrowed her eyes, looking at her, “Sister, who are you?”
“Me, Lin Rou. We last met at the banquet.”
Jin Zhao remembered who she was. She’d been too busy enjoying herself during the holiday to remember this friend. She forcefully pulled her arm away from Lin Rou’s chest.
“Don’t talk to me again.”
Lin Rou was shocked. She didn’t want to lose this gold mine, “Why? I’m your most reliable strategist. Don’t you want to chase Lu Sichen?”
“Because my husband doesn’t let me play with idiots.”
She wanted to chase after her husband’s bank card and stocks.
Lin Rou was dumbfounded. She really wanted to know who Jin Zhao’s husband was, so rich, and able to make Jin Zhao completely obedient.
After the large lecture, she could go home. Jin Zhao requested a copy of her past academic transcripts.
The power of money, seamlessly done, but her strength and reputation were also well-known.
A heaven-defying start.
“Teacher, which companies has our school collaborated with over the years? Is there a possibility of direct employment after graduation?”
The advisor looked at this reborn young lady, who had never been seen in the classroom or office during her four years of university.
“Each company will come for a presentation in a few days, you can pay attention,” The advisor didn’t know why this young lady wouldn’t work for the Jin family’s company and instead looked for other opportunities.
Those top companies either had already internally decided on family-matched heirs or the top students.
Someone like Jin Zhao could only rely on the Jin family to get her into those top companies.
As Jin Zhao was on her way back to Tanyuan, a man suddenly pulled open the passenger seat door and got in.
“Madam, Mr. Wei wants to see you.”
Hearing the term “Madam,” Jin Zhao knew it was someone from Wei Ting’s father’s side.
Wei Ting’s people always called her “Miss.” She suddenly felt a little dissatisfied. After all this time, she hadn’t even gotten a title.
“What’s done is done, let’s go.”
Jin Zhao gestured to the driver. Even if she disagreed, Wei Sheng would find a way to make her go.
On the way, she continued to bombard Wei Ting with messages.
“Husband, today, for you, I broke up with a good friend. I’m a sad poached egg.”
Wei Ting was in the office processing documents. He didn’t plan to reply, but seeing the barrage of crying emojis, he eventually replied.
“Male?”
Otherwise, why would it be because of him.
Jin Zhao: “Female.”
Wei Ting: “…What does that have to do with me?”
Jin Zhao: “Isn’t it because I’m too charming, so I can’t even let go of girls with bad intentions? I’m quite virtuous, right?”
Jin Zhao: “Why aren’t you talking?”
Jin Zhao: “Could it be that my husband doesn’t think I’m too charming? Your eyesight must be bad. I’ll take you to get glasses next week, mwah.”
After a long wait, when the chat log was about to be dominated by Jin Zhao alone—
Wei Ting: “TD” (Unsubscribe)
Jin Zhao saw those two letters and wanted to strangle the stranger in the passenger seat to vent her anger. Wei Ting wasn’t good at anything else, but he was number one at making people angry.
“Okay, husband, you will lose me.”
“Wei Ting, when you see this message, I’m being forcibly taken to an unknown place by Wei Sheng. I hope we can be husband and wife in our next life.”
“Love you, your wife Jin Zhao, the end.”
Wei Ting looked at the pile of “harassment” expressionlessly. Qin Zhuli came in to deliver documents and saw this scene.
“Sir, these are the documents you requested. If there’s nothing else, I’ll leave.”
Wei Ting lowered his eyes, staring at his phone, “Go see where she is.”
Qin Zhuli hadn’t reacted yet, “Who? Miss Jin?”
Wei Ting lifted his eyelids, “Who else?”
“I’ll contact them immediately.” Qin Zhuli quickly left the office.
Wei Ting continued to look through the documents. He didn’t think anything would happen. As long as Jin Zhao noticed something wrong and acted strangely, the people he sent should react immediately.
He hadn’t expected that the people sent to watch her had actually become her protectors.
He picked up his pen to sign, when Qin Zhuli abruptly pushed open the door, his face full of tension.
“I’m sorry, sir. They said Miss Jin’s car was heading towards Tanyuan. Just as they were about to hand over to Tanyuan’s people, Miss Jin’s car seemed to have been controlled and changed direction. They only just realized it.”
Wei Ting’s pen suddenly tore through the document paper. He stood up and strode towards the door.
“What are you standing there for? Go find her!”
