Chapter 29: No Girlfriend

Jin Zhao looked at Qin Zhuli walking towards her, then looked down at the bank card that inexplicably appeared in her hand.

Qin Zhuli: ^ ^

Jin Zhao: o.O

Is this right?

This morning, she drove a car out of the garage, and Wei Ting crashed into it again, damaging two cars at once, and gave her one of his bank cards.

Even if he wanted to show off his wealth, he didn’t have to do it like this.

After all the trouble, it was still Wei Ting’s money that was spent.

The black car sped away, driving straight into Jingda University, leaving a group of dumbfounded people at the entrance.

“Is this the power of Wei Corporation? So simple and brutal.”

“Compared to this, Lu Sichen just now was a little petty. At Wei Ting’s level, he doesn’t even bother to get out of the car.”

“Am I the only one who feels sorry for the two cars?”

Jin Zhao noticed the people around her eyeing the card in her hand. She quickly put it into her bag.  Why let outsiders benefit?

Passing by the still-stunned Lu Sichen and Su Yi, she raised her eyebrows slightly.

“No comparison, no harm. Lu Sichen, do you know why the newly paved roads are so flat?”

Lu Sichen hadn’t recovered from Wei Ting’s appearance. He shook his head blankly.

Jin Zhao smiled and stared at him, slowly saying, “Because there are no pebbles.”

Someone nearby chuckled, making Lu Sichen even more embarrassed.

Su Yi stared at the license plate that had slowly disappeared into Jingda University. She had heard about this Mr. Wei from others, but this was the first time she had seen him in person.

The incident at the school gate quickly spread to everyone’s ears, and two completely different opinions emerged.

The first: “Jin Zhao must have deliberately crashed into it… Mr. Wei actually compensated her? I don’t understand.”

The second (very quietly): “It was clearly Mr. Wei’s car that hit the car parked at the entrance. Why was it deliberate? I support Jin Zhao in conquering the world and carrying forward the spirit of ‘delete the picture’.”

Jin Zhao was used to this situation. After all, she hadn’t had a good reputation before, and it would take time for her image to change.  But today, she wasn’t suitable to attend Wei Ting’s lecture.

“I really won’t go.” Jin Zhao looked at Zhou Mo, who was about to pull her away, and firmly refused to attend the lecture today.

“Besides, Wei Corporation has already released the recruitment requirements, and I’m busy submitting my designs.”

Zhou Mo naturally knew. “This isn’t urgent. This year is team design; you can’t participate alone. Add me, and I’ll find you another helper. We’ll definitely win.”

“I’ll be scolded to death.” Jin Zhao was helpless. After the fan incident, she should lay low.

“Okay.” Zhou Mo felt a little regretful but also thought Jin Zhao’s worries were reasonable.

As she walked, she muttered, “I saw Su Yi enter the auditorium upstairs just now. I don’t know why she, someone going into the entertainment industry, would watch Wei Corporation’s presentation. Wei Corporation doesn’t have an entertainment company.”

Jin Zhao thought Wei Corporation didn’t need one. With Cheng Wang’s industry and Gu Jue, the three of them were so close they could wear the same pants.

“Wait, you said Su Yi also went?” Jin Zhao immediately jumped up from her chair.

“Yes, I saw it with my own eyes.”

Jin Zhao immediately transformed into a desktop cleaning master, packing everything into her bag.

“Let’s go.”

Zhou Mo looked at the person who suddenly appeared at the door: “?”

What just happened?

Jin Zhao walked forward with her head down. She wasn’t worried about what others thought of Wei Ting, and whether Wei Ting had a childhood sweetheart or a white moonlight wasn’t something she could worry about now.

But! Su Yi was different.

As someone with the heroine’s halo, she might use her innocent charm to directly win over the domineering CEO. Then what would she even do?

If Wei Ting also fell for Su Yi, she could pack herself into a ball, roll into a mental hospital, and die mysteriously.

The bell had been ringing for two minutes. Wei Ting had just scanned the audience and, as expected, didn’t see that face.

It’s normal for someone to hide if they feel guilty.

He was about to start speaking when he saw two figures running in breathlessly from outside.

Wei Ting raised his eyebrows slightly. This was rare.

Jin Zhao was prepared to stand for two hours for being late, but Zhou Mo had already found someone to save them seats.

“Wen Shaoming, our department’s top student,” Zhou Mo whispered in Jin Zhao’s ear. “Our team of three, Wei Corporation, we’ll definitely win.”

Zhou Mo’s skills were already at the top student level.  With this person, and her, a former top student and chief designer, Jin Zhao felt that Wei Corporation’s offer and the title of outstanding graduate were beckoning her.

Jin Zhao looked at the boy next to her. His amber eyes were exceptionally gentle, and he looked like a well-behaved student. She immediately smiled.

This person’s design work had won awards. She had seen it on the honor wall at the entrance of the academy. He was indeed very capable.

“I’ve heard of your name. Top student, please give us guidance.”

“You flatter me.” Wen Shaoming smiled and gestured to them.

Everyone was prepared for someone else to represent Wei Corporation today. Unexpectedly, it was still Wei Ting. The news spread from the moment he entered the school gate. Now, the auditorium was packed.

Wei Ting’s eyes inadvertently swept across the audience, and the conversation between the two was particularly noticeable.

“Then let’s quickly decide on a direction. Time waits for no one.” Jin Zhao whispered to the other two.

Zhou Mo and Wen Shaoming both nodded in agreement. Wen Shaoming had been a little worried about Jin Zhao’s skills, but after seeing the design drafts on her computer, his doubts disappeared.

In Wei Ting’s eyes, this was a relationship where even computers could be shared. He narrowed his eyes, and his voice, which had been speaking, became cold.

“Do you feel Mr. Wei isn’t happy today?”

Jin Zhao heard the quiet discussion from those around her and finally lifted her eyelids to look at the man on stage.  She indeed caught the man’s downturned mouth.

Maybe the auditorium was too noisy. Wei Ting usually liked quiet.

Two hours passed. When the lecture was about to end, it was time for student questions.

This wasn’t aimed at Wei Ting personally. Jingda University’s lectures were always like this, emphasizing student autonomy.

“Mr. Wei, most of the recruitment requirements are for team projects. Does everyone in the team get into Wei Corporation if the project passes?”

Wei Ting shook his head. “After the project passes, there’s still a personal employment assessment.”

Some were happy, some were worried. At least they wouldn’t worry about someone slacking off in the team.

A bold girl stood up and asked the question everyone wanted to know. “I want to ask a personal question about Mr. Wei… Does Mr. Wei have a girlfriend now?”

The auditorium instantly fell silent. Everyone waited for Wei Ting’s answer.

Qin Zhuli, beside him, was about to stand up to stop her when Wei Ting on stage picked up the microphone.

Jin Zhao’s relaxed mind was instantly squeezed like a fist.

The Wei Corporation’s CEO’s marriage and private life were always linked to Wei Corporation’s stock.

A cold and sexy voice echoed throughout the hall.

“No girlfriend.”

Jin Zhao looked up, her eyes meeting the man’s on stage. She held her breath for a long time, and only when she realized Wei Ting didn’t intend to say anything else did she breathe a sigh of relief.

The auditorium erupted in excitement. Wei Ting looked down at the noisy audience. Only one pair of eyes looked at him, straight and uneasy.

He slowly put down the microphone.
