Quick Wear: Dote on Wife Like Life Chapter 8

Chapter 8: The Playboy Second Young Master × The Domineering Female CEO (Part 8)

Jiang Shijie looked around in a panic, then forced himself to deny it, gritting his teeth.
“I don’t know you people. If you keep pestering me, I’ll call the police!”

“Go ahead,” Gu Yin waved his hand indifferently. “Let’s see whether the police arrest you first or me.”

“You…” Jiang Shijie swallowed hard and dropped the act. “So what do you want? Hit me?”

“I wouldn’t dare hit you. That would be illegal.”

“Yin-ge, we’re not afraid! Worst case, I’ll cover the medical bills. Besides, my second uncle is—” Hu Kai started bragging.

“Shut up and get lost.” Gu Yin shoved the idiot aside. This guy was no different from those who boasted “My dad is Li Gang.”

Gu Yin leaned in slightly, whispering a threat in Jiang Shijie’s ear,
“Tell me, who would suspect anything from a couple of guys slinging their arms around each other? Unless that person is also… you know… gay?”

Jiang Shijie’s pupils shrank. He wasn’t as composed and cunning now as he would be in a few years. Gu Yin’s words hit a nerve, and his expression darkened.
“Do you have any proof?”

“You don’t have anything on me, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have anything on you. West Hollywood—you’re pretty familiar with that place, aren’t you?”

Gu Yin hadn’t actually found dirt on Jiang Shijie’s time in the U.S. yet, but the original Gu Yin had been taken there by Jiang once, so Jiang was definitely familiar with it.

“What do you want?”

Jiang Shijie was clearly rattled. He had nothing to his name now. His father and older brother were still trying to make a comeback, and knowing his character all too well, they hadn’t allowed him to return to the country.

If his dirty deeds came to light, not only would his own reputation be ruined—his father might very well beat him to death.

“Leave this place. Go back to the States.” Gu Yin patted him on the shoulder.

“If I find out you’re secretly messing with my family or the Nan family again, I’ll expose all your dirty laundry. Everything your dad and brother have worked for will go up in smoke.”

“Don’t drag them into this!” Jiang Shijie was starting to panic and blurted out without thinking.

“Everything I’m doing is just an eye for an eye. If it weren’t for that old bastard Nan Xuwen, would my family be in this state? My dad and brother wouldn’t have to go around begging, my mom wouldn’t be getting the cold shoulder from her own relatives, and I wouldn’t be mocked for being broke.”

Jiang Shijie glared fiercely at Gu Yin.
“If it weren’t for you, I would’ve gotten my revenge by now!”

Then he suddenly gave a twisted smile.
“What’s so great about women anyway? Don’t you like men too? How about me? Why don’t we team up and take down the Nan Corporation together? You don’t want to go through with that arranged marriage, do you, Young Master Gu?”

“Have you looked in a mirror lately?” Gu Yin curled his lip in disgust. “With your face, do you think you’re better looking than my Ming-jie? Running your mouth like that—who I like is my business, but it sure as hell won’t be you! Now pick: do I destroy your family and send you all wandering the streets, or are you going to get lost right now?”

Seeing that Jiang Shijie didn’t reply for a long time, Gu Yin gave a cold laugh and made a phone call.
“Uncle Liang, what’s the situation with the Jiang family now?”

“Which Jiang family?”

“The one that went bankrupt recently because of the Nan family.”

“Oh, that one—the family that foolishly tried to go toe-to-toe with the Nan Corporation and ended up losing everything?”

Gu Yin chuckled.
“Yeah, that’s the one.”

“Chairman Nan was actually quite merciful and didn’t completely wipe them out. Though they went bankrupt, they weren’t left with absolutely nothing. I hear they’ve been trying to raise funds everywhere lately. They even approached your father recently.”

“Oh?” Gu Yin glanced meaningfully at Jiang Shijie. “Shall we crush them a bit more?”

“Don’t!” Jiang Shijie finally cracked.
“Young Master Gu, please, don’t—this is just a small matter between us younger folks, let’s not involve the families!” he said with a pleading wave of his hand.

“And?”

“I’ll leave. I’ll leave right away,” Jiang Shijie promised.

“I hope you keep your word.” Gu Yin hung up and gave him a meaningful pat on the shoulder.

“Absolutely. Definitely.”

With Jiang Shijie taken care of, Gu Yin finally felt a sense of relief. Honestly, Jiang Shijie wasn’t very smart—he just happened to cross paths with someone even dumber and love-struck: the original Gu Yin.

“Yin-ge, when are you going to bring your sister-in-law around to meet the guys?”

“Yeah! Ever since you cleaned up your act, you never come to our hangouts anymore. Not cool, man!”

“Alright, alright. I’ll treat everyone tonight. How’s that?”

“You better bring your sister-in-law too…”

“I’ll ask her.” Gu Yin took out his phone and messaged Nan Ming.

Very quickly, Nan Ming replied with a simple “Okay.” Gu Yin smiled gently, and the guys all teased him for being “under his wife’s thumb.”

Ever since the new product launch, Gu Yin had some free time again. Today, for example, he took a day off. Nan Ming was curious about what he was up to, but she agreed to go without hesitation after getting his message—after all, she wanted to integrate into his world too.

That night, the group met up at a club they used to frequent. Seeing Nan Ming, Hu Kai and the others suddenly became shy and extra well-behaved.

Gu Yin introduced everyone to Nan Ming one by one.
“This is Hu Kai. We all call him Kai-zi. His family sells cars. If you like any, he’s your guy.”

“Hello, sister-in-law. Our company just released a new sports car. I’ll send it to your office tomorrow,” Hu Kai said with a cheeky grin, trying to flatter her.

“No need…” Nan Ming hadn’t expected Gu Yin’s friends to be so generous and was a bit overwhelmed. Just as she was about to decline, Gu Yin cut in.

“Take it.”

“Uh… thank you, then.” Nan Ming gave Hu Kai a polite smile.

“No problem! Yin-ge and I are like brothers!”

“This is Lian Jie. We all call him Little Fatty. His family’s in the entertainment business.”

The chubby guy chuckled sheepishly.
“Hi, sister-in-law. My family doesn’t have much to offer… how about I send you a few handsome guys instead?”

Gu Yin raised his hand and gave him a whack.
“Seriously? I’m sitting right here and you’re trying to cheat on me? Get outta here!”

“This is…” Gu Yin continued introducing everyone, and each person, to some extent, brought a gift. Nan Ming ended up receiving quite a haul.

Everyone got along really well. Nan Ming finally got a glimpse of the infamous rich second-generation heirs of City S. They weren’t as bad as she’d imagined—just a bunch of spoiled, lucky kids having fun together.

“They gave me so many gifts. I should give something back. What do you think about giving them clothes?” Nan Ming had had a bit to drink, her cheeks flushed. Gu Yin found the sight utterly disarming.

“No.”

“Why not?” Nan Ming asked with a puzzled, slightly pouty tone.

“You’ve never even given me anything.”

“Then I’ll give you something first.” Nan Ming smiled, leaning her head on Gu Yin’s shoulder. Her slender fingers gently traced the curve of his neck, making him freeze.

Gu Yin turned and kissed her lightly on the earlobe. Nan Ming trembled and let out a soft hum as she lazily straightened up. Before she could fully pull away, Gu Yin wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her again.

This time, it was Nan Ming who surrendered first. She gasped and asked breathlessly,
“Have you been secretly practicing behind my back?”

“No,” Gu Yin’s voice was hoarse.
“Just naturally gifted. One try and I got it.”

“You’re so full of it!” Nan Ming poked his forehead, and the two of them shared a laugh.
