Chapter 87
The lingering light of the setting sun streamed into the room, casting a soft glow.
Silence hung heavy in the air.
Sang Yao’s breath caught in her throat.
The clothes Sang Yao was wearing had been carefully chosen just moments ago.
Considering Xie Yun’s fondness for her, the fabric was of the finest quality, a pearl chiffon that gleamed beautifully in the sunlight, shimmering as it moved, slightly translucent, revealing hints of her skin.
The fabric tightened at her waist and hips, making it beautiful but a bit difficult to wear out.
She didn’t know what she was thinking when she impulsively chose this outfit. If she could go back in time, she would definitely give herself a good shake.
But she couldn’t. So she could only helplessly stand under Xie Yun’s gaze.
At this moment, with her shoulder half bare, she was clearly signaling her intentions.
This was beyond embarrassing; it was humiliating. With a teary voice, she added, almost subconsciously, “It’s… so hot today.”
Xie Yun, who knows how long he had been standing there, just grunted in response, his gaze heavy.
But his silent gaze filled Sang Yao with even more despair.
She didn’t want to recall what she had just been doing, and she even began to avoid thinking about how much he might have heard.
She felt like she was going to faint.
Xie Yun straightened up and walked towards her, and it felt like time stretched out in that moment.
Sang Yao had never experienced such agony in her life.
She wanted to die.
She didn’t want to live anymore; surely, the heavens were playing a cruel joke on her.
Xie Yun drew closer, and Sang Yao silently prayed for him not to have heard, he must not have heard.
Xie Yun came to a slow stop in front of Sang Yao, the evening sun casting its light on his cool brows.
Sang Yao, with her fair face turned upwards, tears of embarrassment welled up in her eyes.
She didn’t say a word, but her plea was written all over her face.
It felt like she was waiting for a verdict.
Xie Yun lowered his gaze to her, his slender fingers landing on her shoulder, his thumb gently caressing it. Then, slowly, he said to her:
“Weren’t you just in my arms two minutes ago?”
As she had hoped, he pulled Sang Yao into his embrace.
He deliberately teased her, saying, “My lady is quite clingy.”
A tear rolled down Sang Yao’s cheek.
No one understood her. She really was about to faint.
She would never be able to lift her head in front of Xie Yun again.
Should she pretend to faint? It would buy her some time.
Just as the thought crossed her mind, Sang Yao opened her eyes and stole a glance at Xie Yun.
Their eyes met.
Sang Yao’s heart skipped a beat, her body reacting faster than her mind.
Under his gaze, she quickly closed her eyes and softened her body, collapsing into his arms.
It was quite obvious she was pretending to faint.
She might as well have written “pretending to faint” on her forehead.
It seemed even more embarrassing now.
Once the arrow is shot, there’s no turning back.
She could only continue pretending.
The situation indeed took Xie Yun by surprise.
He looked astonished for a moment, then chuckled and embraced her, saying softly, “So this is what Yao Yao meant by ‘hugging like this’.”
He lifted Sang Yao up in his arms and carried her towards the bed.
Sang Yao kept her eyes closed, leaning against him in embarrassment and frustration.
After a while, she felt Xie Yun laying her down on the bed.
Even with her eyes closed, she could feel his gaze lingering on her without reservation.
She regretted it so much.
Why did she change her clothes? Just in a span of two minutes, why did she feel the need to change? And why this outfit? It was so deliberate.
She persisted for a while.
Why was he still looking?
Xie Yun sat quietly on the edge of the bed, his gaze never leaving her.
The girl was clad in a dress of shimmering white chiffon, her figure slender.
Xie Yun didn’t pull up the fabric at her shoulder, and because of their previous actions, it had opened up even more.
With a glimpse of spring revealed, the soft curves exposed a tantalizing glimpse of skin, either fair or rosy.
After staring at her for quite some time, instead of covering her, Xie Yun reached out and pulled the front of her dress open a bit more, revealing even more of her cleavage.
His fingers sank into the fabric.
Sang Yao tensed even more.
Xie Yun played along seriously, and he even said to her intimately, “It is indeed hot. Let’s wear less.”
What was he doing?!
Sang Yao felt a mix of anger and embarrassment, her chest heaving a bit more.
But he didn’t stop there.
Sang Yao felt like she had turned into a lump of dough again as he continued with his serious tone, “It’s hot in the summer. There’s no need to wear undergarments at home.”
He undid it for her, pulling it out.
With no restraint, Sang Yao felt a sudden coolness in her chest.
The thin chiffon dress now hung empty, revealing a faint pink hue.
Unable to bear it any longer, Sang Yao pretended to unconsciously turn her body, hiding herself underneath.
Xie Yun withdrew his hand, his stern face now carrying a smile.
He asked in surprise, “Is Yao Yao fainting or sleeping?”
Sang Yao kept her eyes closed, not making a sound.
Xie Yun pondered for a moment and then said, “Well then, we can only go see a doctor.”
Xie Yun was really too much!
He knew she was pretending to faint, so why didn’t he give her a little face?
Sang Yao’s face felt hot, afraid that he would really call a doctor.
She quietly bit her lip, thinking about what to do, when suddenly she tasted the lingering clear wine on her lips.
…
The chaotic mind suddenly became clear.
Right, she almost forgot, she smells of alcohol now.
Isn’t it normal for a drunk person to faint?
It’s also normal to wake up now, and it’s barely normal to mutter at the window just now.
Anyway, she’s a drunkard now!
Thinking like this, Sang Yao moved her body and then pretended to whimper a few times, slowly opening her eyes.
When she met Xie Yun’s gaze, she forced herself to suppress the embarrassment and displayed the highest level of acting skills in her life, pretending to just wake up and whispered, “…I think I drank too much.”
Xie Yun watched her performance quietly, nodded, his tone rising.
He said, “Drank too much, huh? But why did you wake up so quickly, Yao Yao?”
Sang Yao ignored his question. She propped up her head and sat up slowly, then hugged her clothes, saying, “Huh, what’s wrong with my clothes?”
Xie Yun said, “You don’t remember?”
Sang Yao shook her head, pretending to be confused, “What happened?”
Xie Yun said, “You kept calling out ‘husband, so hot’, and then took off your clothes.”
Shameless!
Luckily, this time she didn’t foolishly correct him directly, but instead said, “Ah, feeling so dizzy, I seem to be a bit unclear.”
As she spoke, she looked at Xie Yun, pretending all the way, confusedly saying, “Who are you? I don’t remember?”
Xie Yun: “…”
Xie Yun bit his lip, then shamelessly said, “I’m your brother Yun, and also your good husband.”
Sang Yao’s heartstrings tightened, feeling that this person was so annoying, not cooperating with her at all.
Sang Yao became even more distressed.
She wanted to curl up in the bed, but Xie Yun grabbed her ankle and pulled her towards him.
Tears fell from Sang Yao’s eyes again as she trembled, saying, “What… what are you going to do to a drunkard?”
As she spoke, she was already pulled into his arms by Xie Yun, forced to straddle him like this.
He kissed the girl’s rosy lips and didn’t continue to play this ambiguous game with her, directly whispering, “Stop pretending.”
After a pause, he called her, “Baby.”
Sang Yao wanted to move, but Xie Yun held her too tightly, and she couldn’t move at all.
She buried her face in Xie Yun’s chest, not wanting to talk to him.
Her head felt numb, and a series of shocks finally made her accept the situation.
Well, she couldn’t really just give up, could she?
She didn’t know what she was now, was her plan a failure? Her sister didn’t tell her what to do in this situation.
She was still grieving when she suddenly felt some movement between her legs.
She stopped her tears, stunned.
… It seems like it hasn’t completely failed yet.
Xie Yun’s hand on her wasn’t quite honest. He whispered, “Who taught you?”
Sang Yao was a bit nervous. She said, “Taught… taught what?”
Oh no, please don’t let slip.
Xie Yun’s hand reached the girl’s snowy white face, fingers playing with her chin. He said, “What do you think?”
Although he liked it very much, he really didn’t understand.
He tried to guess, “Is it because… you want me to spend more time with you?”
He pondered for a moment, thinking that he could only spend less than ten hours with her in a day, which was indeed too little.
There must be a solution.
This didn’t make sense at all. Sang Yao denied, “…I didn’t.”
Xie Yun leaned down to kiss her, and in the gap between kisses, he replied, “It’s okay, I miss you too.”
Sang Yao froze, why did he suddenly start…
“Really?”
Xie Yun nodded, his fingers caressing her lips, his expression unchanged as he quietly said, “All day long.”
Sang Yao: “…”
Xie Yun suggested again, “How about we build a study on the west side of the courtyard?”
“That way, you won’t have to run back and forth, and if you need, you can also work in there.”
Sang Yao hadn’t expected that.
It took Sang Yao quite a while to realize the current situation.
So, her seduction plan not only didn’t fail, but actually succeeded?
Xie Yun just said he missed her.
Sang Yao sat up straight, realizing too late that something was wrong. The sky had darkened a bit, and Sang Yao was kissed all over.
In the chaos, Sang Yao barely kept her wits about her. Xie Yun’s movements were urgent, and Sang Yao felt a bit overwhelmed.
But she was a obedient student, still remembering what she had learned today.
If Xie Yun didn’t notice earlier, then she didn’t have much to worry about, right?
Half an hour later, she felt something was off. Her delicate brows furrowed slightly, and after some thought, she made a move.
This clearly caught Xie Yun off guard.
“You…”
Her voice was soft, “Brother Yun.”
Her gaze was clear.
Xie Yun’s breathing was unsteady, meeting the girl’s bright eyes.
To be precise, in this situation, it was hard for him to stay composed.
But while he could understand earlier as Sang Yao missing him, now it didn’t seem like something this timid little apple would do on her own.
In this situation, even if Xie Yun noticed something was wrong, he couldn’t say anything against it.
…
Sang Yao suddenly said, “No, I’m tired.”
…
She seemed very serious, no hint of joking with him. Xie Yun initially thought he misheard her.
After a moment, he said, “It’s okay, I’ll take care of it.”
Sang Yao shook her head, her voice sounded a bit hoarse but very clear and firm.
“I don’t want to.”
Xie Yun reached for her arm, but Sang Yao pulled away warily. Then, looking a bit pitifully, she said, “I’m serious.”
To be honest, he hadn’t encountered this situation before.
Both were hesitant for quite some time. Xie Yun held her hand.
Sang Yao pulled away again, “I’m tired.”
…
It was obvious this was planned.
