After the Beautiful Ex Wife Reborn and Married a Commander He Went Crazy with Regret Chapter 5

Chapter 5: I found a lot of treasures

Just as she was thinking this, a mystical feeling appeared in her mind.

Lin Yiwan focused her thoughts, and the next second, she found herself back in that space. Her heart pounded wildly.

The mystical feeling quickly made her realize that this was a place independent of the world, belonging only to her.

Knowing this was her own space, Lin Yiwan boldly began to explore.  She soon discovered that the space was about two or three mu (approximately 0.2 to 0.3 acres) in size, with an invisible barrier blocking her path beyond that.

The entire space was devoid of plants, but based on her years of research on oil-producing sand beans, the soil was unusual.

To describe it, it was incredibly fertile. However, overly fertile land would cause oil-producing sand beans to grow too tall and reduce yield.

Although unsuitable for oil-producing sand beans, Lin Yiwan still cherished this land, already planning in her mind to grow vegetables and fruits.

After exploring the outside, Lin Yiwan went to the wooden house. Pushing open the door, a faint, pleasant fragrance wafted out.

The floor was cool but smooth like jade, very comfortable. Lin Yiwan took a look around and found the wooden house unexpectedly large, about one hundred square meters, and even a suite.  However, it was empty, with nothing but basic necessities.  But Lin Yiwan was already very satisfied.

After exploring for a while, she discovered that she could place or retrieve items without physically entering the space.

This was a huge surprise for Lin Yiwan. Having such an extra-dimensional space would provide an extra layer of security wherever she went.

Unable to sleep, she got up to wash the quilt, then opened a small compartment in the room.  She took out the money she had secretly saved over the years over five hundred yuan.

It was mostly money her grandfather had secretly given her, telling her to keep it hidden. In her previous life, she hadn’t handed over this money but secretly took it to the countryside, which helped her survive those difficult times.

Putting the money into the space, she went out. It was already the next morning.

After breakfast, Lin Yiwan went straight to the West Street scrap yard.  In this era, due to people’s lack of understanding of the value of antiques and collectibles, many valuable items were treated as scrap.

Of course, some were sent here for special reasons.

In her previous life, Lin Yirou had found a painting in the West Street scrap yard, which fetched nearly two million Hong Kong dollars in Hong Kong at the end of the 1980s.

Song Huaiqing was as excited as if he had earned the money himself, repeatedly telling her that Lin Yirou was a lucky star, able to find good things just by casually browsing the scrap yard.

Having tasted the sweetness of antiques, they auctioned off the paintings and books they had tricked out of her. Even if they didn’t say how much money they made, Lin Yiwan knew.

This time, she wouldn’t give them her jewelry and paintings, and she would take that painting from the scrap yard!

The scrap yard was in a secluded corner, a large yard surrounded by wire mesh.  Various discarded items were piled up inside.

A woman was holding a bundle of old newspapers, apparently coming to sell scrap.

An old man in a vest was squatting in the pile of scrap, looking for something.  Two other women were picking through old furniture.

Lin Yiwan, a young and beautiful woman, was undoubtedly conspicuous.  As soon as she entered, she attracted the curious gazes of several people.

Lin Yiwan ignored them; her goal was clear.  She scanned the scrap yard and walked towards the pile of discarded newspapers and books.

Thanks to Song Huaiqing’s repeated mentions in her previous life, Lin Yiwan clearly knew where the painting was located and that Lin Yirou had found it on the day she went to the countryside.

Lin Yiwan didn’t know exactly when the painting was sent to the scrap yard, but she would also look for other things while she was there.

As soon as she squatted down, Lin Yiwan saw some books that had been stepped on several times, and her eyebrows twitched!

Carefully picking one up, it was indeed an ancient book, a rare edition by a famous person. Lin Yiwan pretended to glance at it and put it aside.

Bundles of old newspapers were piled up like a small mountain.

The newspapers were yellowed, their edges curled, some even damp from rain, emitting a faint musty smell.

Lin Yiwan was about to search carefully when she caught sight of a stiff corner of paper sticking out from under the newspapers.

Her gaze paused, she reached out, lifted the newspaper, and slowly pulled out the paper it was indeed a folded painting, its edges damaged.

Unfolding the painting, it depicted a tranquil lake, willow trees swaying gently by the lake, and distant mountains faintly visible.

In the lower right corner, there was a faint signature the name she was looking for!

Unexpectedly easy, Lin Yiwan was in a good mood.

Taking a stack of newspapers, she casually tucked the painting and ancient book inside.  Holding the newspapers, she went to the place where old dishes, bowls, and pottery jars were kept.

Just as she was about to pick a couple of items and go to the counter, she caught sight of a bit of white-and-blue porcelain.  Lin Yiwan had attended many auctions with Song Huaiqing in her previous life and had some eye for antiques.

Putting down the newspapers, she went to the pile of scrap metal.  Carefully moving aside various chipped and worn bottles and jars, she found a blue-and-white porcelain jar underneath.

At a glance, Lin Yiwan knew it was an antique, but she couldn’t judge its value yet.

Carefully picking up the blue-and-white porcelain, Lin Yiwan was about to examine the pattern when she suddenly heard Lin Yirou’s voice behind her.

“Sister, what are you doing here?”

Lin Yiwan: …

She hadn’t expected her to be here. She almost dropped the porcelain jar.

But she quickly calmed down. Whoever found something in the scrap yard first got it; why should she feel guilty?

A smile curved her lips.  “It’s Yirou? I’m looking for something useful to take to the countryside.”

She couldn’t openly clash with her yet; how could she give her a surprise if they were at odds?

Song Huaiqing looked at Lin Yiwan standing among the scrap, frowning slightly.  “Wanwan, I’ve checked, there are subsidies for going to the countryside; you don’t need to bring these things.”

Hearing this, Lin Yiwan smiled helplessly. “Two hundred yuan seems like a lot, but life is long, I have to save.”

Seeing her unusually delicate appearance, Song Huaiqing felt a pang of pity.  “Don’t say silly things, you still have me. I won’t let you suffer in the countryside.”

Lin Yiwan: …

Luckily, she hadn’t eaten yet, otherwise, she would have vomited.

How could he say such hypocritical words with a straight face?
