Chapter 7
Today is the second day since she woke up, and she has not yet seen what this body looks like with her own eyes.
But I think it shouldn’t be bad, after all, the original owner’s parents both look very good.
“You want to look in the mirror now?”
“Well, I want to see if my complexion has recovered.”
“But I promised your lover that I would stay with you until he comes back.”
“He just doesn’t trust me enough. I can be fine on my own. If you have a mirror, I hope you can lend it to me.”
“this…”
The nurse hesitated for a moment, but finally agreed.
“Don’t leave the ward. I’ll be back soon.”
After her repeated assurances, the nurse walked out of the ward, looking back every two steps, and returned to the office to get her a mirror.
When she came back again, she saw Lu Anning half-leaning on the hospital bed obediently, and she felt relieved.
“You look much better than when you were first admitted to the hospital. After two more days of rest, you will probably be back to full health.”
The nurse held the mirror in front of her.
Lu Anning looked at herself in the mirror and found that she looked about 70% similar to her previous self.
The same small face, big eyes, and a pair of dimples that appear when the corners of the mouth are slightly raised.
Although her face is now a little less pale, it is much better than before. After 26 years of illness, this is the healthy look she had always longed for.
“You are very good-looking, better looking than most people I have ever seen.”
The nurse was telling the truth. She really thought Lu Anning was very beautiful. Although her face was still a little pale, her big, bright eyes were not affected by her illness. They were still watery and seemed to be able to speak.
Lu Anning took the mirror and stared at herself in the mirror seriously, or to be more precise, she stared at the center of her eyebrows.
At this moment, there seemed to be a faint vermilion dot between her eyebrows flickering slightly, but she didn’t know if it was her illusion.
She pulled the mirror closer and stared at it intently for a few seconds.
He reached out and touched the red spot, then put down the mirror and quickly wrote on the notebook: “Can you see if I have a lump here?”
She didn’t ask if there were any red spots because she wasn’t sure the nurse would be able to see them.
The nurse came over and looked at it carefully, but couldn’t see any difference after looking left and right.
“You’re in pain here, right?”
She shook her head.
Could she have guessed right?
Is it true that only she can see this red dot?
If others could see it, they would be able to clearly notice that it is flickering, even if it is very faint.
“It doesn’t hurt. It might just be my illusion.”
“That should be the case. Don’t think too much about it now. The most important thing is to rest. Once you have rested well, all the discomfort in your body will naturally disappear.”
Handing the mirror back to the nurse, she lay back down.
I closed my eyes and pondered the strangeness of the red dot.
She had an inexplicable intuition that this red dot might have nothing to do with the original owner.
She clearly remembered being pulled into the black hole. Before traveling here, she happily bought cinnabar and put a red dot on her forehead, right here!
Could it really be related to it?
So should she also buy cinnabar and replicate Xinran’s operation so that she can return to the modern era?
……
On the other side, Sui Jingxing returned home and the first thing he did was to go into the house and open the drawer that Lu Anning mentioned.
Inside were two envelopes and a camera that Lu’s father gave her on the day they got their marriage certificate.
He picked up two envelopes. The first one contained a bulging bag with the word “evidence” written on the surface, and below it was her suicide note.
Sui Jingxing looked at the words on the second letter. Although he already knew Lu Anning’s situation, it was inevitable that he felt uncomfortable when he saw her suicide note with his own eyes. After all, it was written by his newlywed wife.
Instead of opening the second envelope, he put it into his own box where he kept precious items, then sat on a chair and carefully opened the first envelope.
It contains three things.
The first one was a paper medicine packet issued by the military medical room. On it were written Lu Anning’s name, the name of the medicine, and instructions for taking it. At the bottom was the date the medicine was prescribed. There were still a few unfinished pills in the packet.
The second is a brief conversation between Anning and the murderer on paper.
The other party didn’t seem to know that Lu Anning could actually hear, otherwise he wouldn’t have communicated with her on paper.
There was not much content on the paper, but it was enough for anyone who read it to understand that the rice wine and eggs that Lu Anning drank were not cooked by herself, but were sent to her by the person she was talking to.
Sui Jingxing compared the handwriting in the conversation with the handwriting on the medicine bag and found that the two were not written by the same person.
However, before he opened Lu Anning’s third piece of evidence, he already had a rough guess about the murderer.
The third thing in the envelope was a piece of paper, which was not evidence, but provided the last two pieces of information.
One of them was on the camera, and the other had the witness’ name written on it, along with what the witness knew.
After looking at everything, Sui Jingxing sat in the chair for a long time without moving.
My father-in-law said that Lu Anning’s situation was not his fault, but it turned out that it was all because of him.
Regardless of whether Lu Anning had thoughts of suicide or not, Sui Jingxing owed her after all.
After sorting out the clues, he put the evidence in a place only he knew, just in case.
Then he tidied up the house roughly, made the bed in the outer room, and returned to the hospital.
“Thank you, comrade. I’m sorry for delaying your get off work.”
“It’s okay. If there’s nothing else, I’ll go home first.”
“Nothing else, thank you very much.”
As soon as the nurse left, Sui Jingxing confessed to Lu Anning that he had seen the evidence.
She was not surprised by this. He had already gone home, it would be strange if he didn’t look at it.
“This person’s background is a bit complicated, and it will be a bit troublesome to deal with.”
“But don’t worry, whether it’s me or our Sui family, we will definitely give you an explanation, and the murderer won’t be at large for long.”
He will definitely bring the murderer who harmed Lu Anning to justice.
However, to be cautious, he must discuss this matter with his grandfather, father, father-in-law and Uncle Chen before making any plans.
With his current position, he cannot affect the other party at all. He will not be stupid enough to fight against the other party with an egg, but his grandfather and the others can.
He had never thought of using his family connections before, but this time it was different!
This time Lu Anning’s safety is involved, so he must be absolutely sure.
