“Yahui, long time no see.”
Liang Qiuchi patted the woman’s back, and the woman hugged him tightly for a moment before letting go, “Let Sister take a look, are you okay?”
She circled around Liang Qiuchi, as if wanting to carefully inspect every inch of him.
Liang Qiuchi smiled, “I’m fine.”
“You’re still smiling. Do you know how worried sick I was during the three months you disappeared?” Wu Yahui angrily pounded Liang Qiuchi’s chest, and her fingers with red nail polish instinctively reached into his inner pocket. She twirled the silenced pistol in her hand twice, then aimed it at Vincent, who was still digesting their conversation information.
Vincent instinctively took a step back, sitting unsteadily on the sofa.
Wu Yahui released the safety of the gun, raising an eyebrow at Vincent, “This handsome guy seems a bit unfamiliar. What’s he doing here?”
Vincent pursed his lips and remained silent.
Liang Qiuchi stepped forward and pressed down the gun, taking it back and tucking it behind his waist.
“He has been taking care of me during this time and is not an enemy,” he glanced at the door of the private room, “Let’s talk about business first; I don’t have much time.”
Wu Yahui locked the door of the room and walked straight towards Vincent.
Vincent looked at her warily as she slowly bent down in front of him, her cleavage gradually revealing itself. However, Wu Yahui, seemingly intentionally, not only did not cover it up but also reached out to undo his belt.
“What are you doing!” Vincent scolded softly.
“Undoing your belt. What do you think?” Wu Yahui looked at him with a playful smile, her bright red lips carrying a teasing smirk.
Vincent uncomfortably turned his head away, but then his feet tightened, being tied together.
Wu Yahui wrapped the belt around a few more times, tying a tight knot, then patted Vincent’s flushed cheek, “Naughty little brother, go sit in the inner room by yourself, don’t make Sister exert herself.”
Liang Qiuchi came over and pulled Vincent up, “Sorry to trouble you.”
Vincent didn’t say anything more. With his hands and feet tied, he awkwardly hopped into a small compartment in the private room, looking somewhat ridiculous, which made Wu Yahui laugh incessantly.
Liang Qiuchi sighed helplessly, “You always enjoy teasing people like this.”
Wu Yahui winked at him, then, after making sure Vincent obediently stayed in the compartment, she closed the door, turned on the music in the private room, and then gestured for Liang Qiuchi to sit beside her.
“Tell me quickly, where have you been these days! We’ve been looking for you for so long, without a single clue.” Wu Yahui poured a glass of wine for Liang Qiuchi, “I had no choice but to wait for you at this contact point every day, and today I finally got you!”
“It’s a long story,” Liang Qiuchi finished his drink in one gulp and said seriously, “I heard that you’re negotiating with the Federation.”
“Yeah, it’s Old Pei’s idea,” Wu Yahui sighed, “He said he wanted to demand an explanation for you, but in fact, he just wants autonomy. I told him that this matter can’t be rushed, but he insisted on trying. I couldn’t stop him.”
Liang Qiuchi fell silent for a moment before saying, “It’s okay to try, consider it a way to test the other party. But as for the retaliatory actions in various places, let’s stop them for now. There’s no need to harm innocent people.”
Wu Yahui nodded, “Okay, I’ll handle it later.” She pinched Liang Qiuchi’s arm and frowned, “You’ve lost weight.”
“The news said you were injured when you went missing. Where were you hurt?”
Liang Qiuchi smiled, “In the head. I lost my memory for a while, so I’m late.”
“Lost your memory?” Yahui turned his face towards her, “And now, do you remember everything?”
“Pretty much, although some things are still a bit fuzzy,” Liang Qiuchi brushed her hand away, “But I remembered your name as soon as it was mentioned.”
“Stop trying to sweet talk me. I know you too well. You may forget anyone else, but you won’t forget that guy surnamed Mo,” Yahui poked his chest, “If it weren’t for my aversion to his name tattooed on your body, I would have taken you down a long time ago.”
Liang Qiuchi smirked, “Don’t joke around.”
“I’m not kidding. Tomorrow, come back to Lugo with me. I have a way to bypass the inspections and get out of the city,” Yahui said.
Liang Qiuchi shook his head, “No, I have other things to do. I can’t go back with you for now.”
If he just left like this, Mo Xin would probably turn the whole San Lorenzo upside down.
At least he needed to clarify things with Mo Xin before he could leave.
Yahui wrapped herself in a blanket, leaning against the sofa as she looked at Liang Qiuchi, “Are you planning to go find that guy surnamed Mo?”
Liang Qiuchi turned his head, meeting her scrutinizing gaze.
“Have you forgotten how you were arrested? If it weren’t for him, would you have suffered like this?” Yahui’s tone was unfriendly, “Qiuchi, smart people don’t stumble twice over the same stone. You can’t set aside your responsibilities for the sake of a relationship, otherwise all these years of effort will be in vain.”
Liang Qiuchi whispered, “I know my limits.”
Yahui reminded him, “That guy surnamed Mo is now the acting director of the Security Bureau, specifically in charge of counter-terrorism and smuggling. From a standpoint, you’re his enemy.”
Liang Qiuchi chuckled, “But we’re not terrorists.”
“Don’t quibble with me,” Yahui scolded, “You know what I mean.”
“I understand,” Liang Qiuchi rubbed his throbbing temples a few times, saying gloomily, “I’ll handle this mess by myself.”
Yahui watched him with a tired expression, getting up to give him a massage, but Liang Qiuchi waved his hand, “I just need to rest for a while. Could you please find me a phone, Yahui, so I can stay in touch?”
“Sure, I’ll go get one.”
Yahui first went to the compartment to check on the bound Vincent. Seeing him obediently staying there without any mischief, she left the private room with peace of mind.
Not long after, she brought a phone over. Seeing Liang Qiuchi leaning back on the sofa with his eyes closed, she didn’t disturb him and sat quietly on the side.
Liang Qiuchi had been pretending to be tired for too long during this period, never truly relaxing even when sleeping. Now that he was back in his own territory, he could finally take a short break.
But he didn’t sleep for long before he was awakened by a vibration in his arms.
It was Vincent’s phone ringing.
Seeing the unknown number displayed on the screen, he knew it was probably Mo Xin’s call.
He wiped his face, got up, pushed open the door of the compartment, and handed the phone to Vincent, while also aiming the gun at him.
Liang Qiuchi instructed him, “Don’t mention my presence here. I don’t want him to worry.”
Vincent hesitated, looking at him.
Liang Qiuchi said, “Once I finish things here, I’ll go back with you. There’s no need to alarm him. If it becomes widely known, it will ruin his future.”
Vincent felt it made sense and nodded.
The call had already been disconnected by now.
Liang Qiuchi handed him the phone, the gun still pointed at Vincent’s forehead.
Vincent cleared his throat, picked up the phone, dialed a number, and the call was immediately answered. Mo Xin’s cold voice came through the speaker.
“Why didn’t you answer the phone just now?”
The gun pressing against his head warned him to answer carefully. Vincent swallowed and said, “Sorry, Mr. Mo, I didn’t hear it.”
“Don’t let this happen again,” Mo Xin asked, “Is he asleep?”
Vincent replied, “Yes, he went to bed after ten o’clock. Do you need to talk to him?”
Yahui looked at Liang Qiuchi incredulously.
Liang Qiuchi raised a finger to his lips, signaling her not to speak.
Mo Xin on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment before saying, “No need. How did the investigation I asked you to do go?”
Vincent’s gaze quickly swept over the two people standing in front of him, and he vaguely said, “The investigation is almost done. I’ll report back to you once I’ve verified everything.”
“Hurry up,” Mo Xin left these two words before hanging up the phone.
Liang Qiuchi took back his phone from Vincent, holstered his gun, and said, “Thank you.”
Turning around, he saw Yahui with her hands crossed over her chest, leaning against the wall, clicking her tongue at him twice, shaking her head, and sighing, “What a fate, what a fate.”
