In the office.
Qiao Wen busied himself with the pile of works until Lin Zihui coming and knocking on his desk for lunch break only then he raised his head.
During these period the two were busied with the new project work, site work and paper work and so on leaving no time to catch up the breath. But also thanks to that they completed all the major work and all that remain was few miscellaneous task.
After the lunch break Lin Zihui asked Qiao Wen to relax a little, so the two had some rare leisure time, sitting on the leather sofa in the office, sipping hot tea, and watching TV dramas.
Wu Yaodong wasn’t much of help when it came to the office work, but the only thing he had done best was preparing this black and white TV for them. Not only they get current updates of the city, they could also relax by watching TV dramas and songs like now.
Currently, the two were immersed in the “Love is Priceless” drama in the Baozhu channel, this trending drama finally ushered in a grand finale, but was interrupted by the ringing office phone.
Lin Zihui instantly sprinted towards his desk and picking up the phone.
Qiao Wen also took the remote control and lowered the TV volume to the lowest level, only to listen to Lin Zihui humming a few times, before hanging up the phone.
Lin Zihui’s once blooming face of watching the TV drama wilted within a seconds.
Qiao Wen: “What’s the matter?”
Lin Zihui dejectedly walked over and slumped next to him, before saying, “Didn’t you say that we need to find a famous movie star to shoot an advertise for Dream Real? So I asked my Abba secretary to ask around those big stars. However, their price quotes are all starting from millions, where can we afford it to hire them?” saying that he sighed deeply.
In the Hong Kong city, one of the thriving industries was entertainment industry(movie), which has been booming in recent years, with record-breaking profits and a surge in popularity worldwide. With the rise of the city as the ‘Oriental Hollywood,’ movie stars were becoming even more in demand. Top-tier stars now command endorsement fees of over one million dollars, which may seem steep but is actually a small percentage of their earnings, as their salary for a single movie ranged from two to three million dollars.
Since they had just established their business, Lin Zhaoming’s sponsorship was only five hundred thousand dollars, and they had already put a lot into the business, leaving only a few thousand dollars, the one million dollars seemed astronomical to them.
Qiao Wen’s brows frowned slightly, as he raised his eyes his gaze set on the young actor in the Tv, dressed in a vest and suit, walking on the beach in Shanghai in the Republic of China, looking handsome, and his brows relaxed as thought of something.
“Zihui, the 500,000 sponsored by Mr. Lin, we have already spent 300,000, and now there is 200,000 left, right?”
“That…” Lin Zihui evaded his gaze and touched his nose.
The company accounts were all managed by the accountants and Lin Zihui, Qiao Wen as the secretary only managed the other works, so he only knew little about the financial situation.
Seeing his hesitation, he couldn’t help frowning: “Could it be that there are no two hundred thousand?”
“No, no, there should be more.” Lin Zihui shook his head rattledly.
Qiao Wen was a bit skeptical about his sudden change of expression.
“How much is left?”
“If nothing goes wrong, there should still be more than 600,000 dollars.”
Qiao Wen: “???”
Lin Zihui’s was worried that Qiao Wen would misunderstood him for making nonsense so hurriedly explained: “After renting the stock we didn’t have any major expense for a time being. Therefore, I thought it is best to purchase stock in the stock market rather than savings in a bank account, and plan to exchange the funds into our store once it is open.”
He also worried that Qiao Wen would reprimand him for acting reckless, so he added the points: “If the market continues to perform as it has been, we estimate a profit of 600,000 dollars. This extra income will allow us to not only cover our initial expenses but also potentially expand our business in the future.” Saying that he waited for Qiao Wen’s response.
Qiao Wen laughed: “You scared me to hell just now, why didn’t you tell me when you bought the stock?”
Lin Zihui said meekly: “I’m afraid you won’t support it.”
If Qiao Wen knew he was going to purchase stocks, he would support him with both hands and feet, okay? In the original book, Lin Zihui made his first pot of gold from stock trading, later he became a super predator in the financial market.
“You are the boss, of course I support whatever you do. Besides, I also buy stocks myself, so we can still exchange ideas.”
The second half of his sentence wasn’t entirely as exchanging ideas but he wanted to dip into this guy’s aura.
“Really?” Lin Zihui was really surprised by his answer. He was very interested in stock trading and was keen on the current updates, so he knew the potential of the market, but unfortunately, the people he knew who were trading stocks had the mentality of gambling and didn’t understand the market.
Now hearing Qiao Wen was also trading in stocks, his eyes lit up and he felt he had found like-minded experts and wanted to discuss it further with him.
However, Qiao Wen didn’t bother to discuss stocks with him. He pointed to the TV screen and said, “The most popular male star in Hong Kong right now should be Li Xingchen, right?”
Lin Zihui nodded in response and continued: “Although serials remain a novelty, and TV stars do not have as much popularity as movie stars, Li Xingchen has gained a great deal of popularity in the recent past, and all the grandpas and aunts in the teahouse are fans of his.”
Qiao Wen nodded: “Do you think he looks handsome in a suit?”
Lin Zihui was quite agreeable about this: “It’s true.” Saying that, as it clicked something, he turned to look at Qiao Wen, “You mean we can ask Li Xingchen to advertise for Dream True.”
Qiao Wen nodded his head and continued: “Li Xingchen’s is now a well-known figure and his drama “Love Is Priceless” is in the grand finale so he’s in his peak time.”
“As far as I know the artists of Bao Zhu Channel are paid salaries that can’t be compared to movie stars with millions of paychecks. Hiring him as the advertising spokesperson for the Dream True brand is much more cost-effective than a movie star.”
Lin Zihui felt he made sense, and agreed readily: “Well, I’ll ask my father’s secretary to contact him and see what their quotation is.”
Qiao Wen looked down at his watch and said, “We have an appointment at 3’o clock for magazine ad shoot. If we get going on now we’ll reach there at time.”
