A-Level Pursuit
A-Level Pursuit chapter 27

Considering the current situation and the oppressive feeling brought by Mo Xin’s cold and sharp temperament, Xiang Bei didn’t hesitate much and promised Mo Xin’s request.

But Liang Qiuchi was his childhood friend, someone he had grown up with and would always be his first choice. So, Xiang Bei immediately told Liang Qiuchi about it, without any guilt of breaking his promise.

Good friends were still more important.

“Why is he beating around the bush like this? Any discerning person can see that you treat him differently. Why doesn’t he just speak directly?” Xiang Bei couldn’t understand. He thought it was a waste of time.

“I’m nice to him because I consider him a friend,” Liang Qiuchi explained seriously.

Xiang Bei picked up an apple from the table and threw it at Liang Qiuchi, “Take a look in the mirror and see how annoying your smile is right now.”

Liang Qiuchi caught it steadily, took a bite, and smiled, “It’s really sweet.”

“You’re annoying.” Xiang Bei said irritably. “If you two end up together in the future, don’t forget to credit me. You have no idea how awkward I’ve been these days, stuck in the middle for no reason.”

Liang Qiuchi smiled but didn’t say anything.

Xiang Bei asked him, “What about the class schedule? How do you plan to handle it? Should I pass it on to him, or do you want to do it yourself?”

Liang Qiuchi said, “You give it to him, but don’t tell him that I know about it.”

“Fine, so now I have to be the messenger between you two,” Xiang Bei sighed resignedly. “I don’t understand what kind of game you’re playing.”

“Don’t talk nonsense,” Liang Qiuchi warned him. “Mo Xin is sensitive; don’t let him hear. He might not mean that.”

“Ah-ha! So you admit you have feelings for him!” Xiang Bei, always hitting the nail on the head, exclaimed. “Tsk tsk tsk, my buddy Liang Qiuchi is finally blossoming.” Then his face fell again. “How come I can’t meet someone who makes my heart race?”

“Lift your standards a bit,” Liang Qiuchi suggested.

“I can’t,” Xiang Bei looked at Liang Qiuchi ambiguously. “If I could, what about Mo Xin? I would have snatched you up already.”

Liang Qiuchi accurately tossed the apple core into an empty box on Xiang Bei’s table and smiled, “Sorry, I’m not interested in you.”

“Damn!” Xiang Bei glared at him. “As a handsome guy with eight-pack abs, am I still not good enough for you?”

Liang Qiuchi raised an eyebrow. “Who doesn’t have that?”

Xiang Bei was momentarily speechless, then finally said angrily, “I’m not going to be the messenger anymore. You can handle it yourself.”

Liang Qiuchi chuckled, and at lunchtime, he packed a bag of delicious food for Xiang Bei, finally appeasing him.

In the third week after school started, elective courses across the school began one after another.

Due to the close timing between the first class in the morning and morning exercises, the number of students signing up for elective courses just reached the minimum requirement.

When Liang Qiuchi entered the classroom, there were only a few people sitting inside. He quickly scanned the room and didn’t see any familiar figures.

He chose a seat near the back door, listened boredly to half of the class, and when the teacher turned to write on the board, he decided to send a message to Xiang Bei to see if he had sent the schedule over.

“Boyfriend?”

A low and soft voice came from behind, sending a chill down Liang Qiuchi’s spine.

He turned around and saw Mo Xin sitting behind him, looking directly at him with sharp and piercing eyes.

Liang Qiuchi turned back, glanced at the teacher still writing on the blackboard, and quietly moved to the back row, he sat down next to Mo Xin.

“Why are you here?” Liang Qiuchi asked in a low voice.

“For class,” Mo Xin replied succinctly.

“Aren’t your elective courses scheduled for next semester?” Liang Qiuchi asked again.

“…I’m interested in this course, so I came to audit,” Mo Xin’s gaze remained glued to Liang Qiuchi’s phone as he whispered, “It’s just unfortunate timing for me to disturb Senior Liang and his boyfriend’s conversation.”

Liang Qiuchi showed him the name “Xiang Bei” on his screen and smiled, “I’m currently single.”

Mo Xin finally lifted his gaze from the screen.

Sitting side by side with him, Liang Qiuchi glanced at the podium and slightly tilted his head towards Mo Xin, whispering, “It’s been almost a month since we last met. I thought what I said that day scared you away.”

Mo Xin also tilted his head towards him and asked knowingly, “What did you say?”

Liang Qiuchi smiled as he looked at Mo Xin’s profile, which was close enough to touch. “It’s nothing. If you don’t remember, forget it.”

Mo Xin’s ears turned red, and he whispered, “I have a good memory.”

“Then why ask?” Liang Qiuchi looked at him with a playful smile. “Intentional?”

Mo Xin didn’t want to feel flustered because of his teasing. He suddenly turned his head straight to look into Liang Qiuchi’s eyes and said, “I’ve just been busy with the start of the semester…”

His explanation stopped abruptly because the distance between him and Liang Qiuchi was too close.

Close enough that if he leaned forward slightly, he could kiss Liang Qiuchi’s lips.

Liang Qiuchi’s gaze also became much deeper, slowly scanning Mo Xin’s face from his red ears to his cheeks, and finally landing on those stubborn lips.

“Cough!”

A cough from the podium, full of warning, brought them back to reality.

Mo Xin took out his notebook and pen from his backpack, pretending to be serious about taking notes. But Liang Qiuchi saw that he had written two words of the course name wrong.

He shook his head with a smile and didn’t expose Mo Xin’s clumsy disguise.

After the class ended, Liang Qiuchi asked Mo Xin, “Are you going to keep auditing in the future?”

Mo Xin thought for a moment and said, “It depends, not necessarily.”

Liang Qiuchi nodded, packed up his books, and waved to Mo Xin, “See you if fate allows.”

Mo Xin originally wanted to find an opportunity to get Liang Qiuchi’s phone number, but after half a class, he couldn’t figure out how to bring up the topic naturally and without seeming deliberate.

The day after tomorrow, Liang Qiuchi had another evening class, and Mo Xin could use the excuse of auditing to create a chance encounter. However, he felt that it would be too obvious, so he patiently waited for a week.

On this day, Mo Xin entered the classroom before the class started. He thought he was early enough, but as soon as he entered the classroom, he saw Liang Qiuchi sitting in the back row by the window, beckoning to him.

He walked over quickly and saw a sandwich and a bottle of milk on the table next to Liang Qiuchi.

He thought it was someone else’s seat and was about to move to the right side of Liang Qiuchi when Liang Qiuchi grabbed his wrist.

“Where are you going? Sit here.”

Mo Xin glanced at the things on the table.

Liang Qiuchi pulled him down to sit and smiled, “Bought too much breakfast, help me finish it, don’t waste it.”

Mo Xin whispered, “How much is it? I’ll pay you.”

Liang Qiuchi looked at him and said, “Let’s exchange something.”

“What do you want to exchange?” Mo Xin asked, looking at him.

Liang Qiuchi suddenly raised his phone and framed Mo Xin in the camera. “Smile.”

Mo Xin was stunned for a second, then smiled at the camera behind Liang Qiuchi.
