Chapter 2
After the man left, Luowan lowered her head and looked at the business card in her hand.
Sheng Qing.
The CEO of the Sheng Family Group.
Although Luo Wan hadn’t paid special attention to this area, she had still heard of Sheng Qing’s reputation.
Decisive and ruthless, with harsh methods.
Taking over the Sheng Family Group since adulthood, he had turned the group into a leading national enterprise in just a few years.
Such a capable person had actually been slept with by her.
If it were someone else, they might have been overjoyed and lost their bearings long ago. But Luo Wan was not the type to seek attachment to wealthy families, so she didn’t take Sheng Qing’s words to heart just now.
Luo Wan calmed her mood, casually placed the business card on the bed, and got up to put on her own clothes.
On the other side.
Sheng Qing left the hotel and went straight back to the Sheng family residence.
The old lady and the old master had already prepared tonics and were waiting.
Seeing their eldest grandson return, they quickly brought out the pot of dark-colored tonic soup.
“Hurry, drink it while it’s hot for it to be effective.”
The elderly couple couldn’t close their mouths due to their happiness. They had witnessed firsthand yesterday a young girl entering their grandson’s room and not coming out all night.
With this situation of a single man and a single woman, both young and energetic, something must have happened.
Sheng Qing frowned and glanced at the bowl of tonic soup.
West.
He helplessly stared at his two mischievous elders.
Assertively, he said, “Last night, it was you two who locked my door.”
Ever since their son and daughter-in-law passed away, these two elderly people had focused all their attention on their grandson.
They had been urging him to find a girlfriend since he reached adulthood, and once he reached the legal age, they started pressuring him to have grandchildren.
Everything they did was both laughable and tear-inducing.
He couldn’t do anything about them and could only escape abroad.
This time, hearing that his grandmother wasn’t feeling well, he hurriedly returned to the country.
But as soon as he returned, he encountered such a situation.
Upon hearing his words, the elderly couple exchanged glances, their eyes darting around in confusion.
Sheng Qing sighed.
In the end, he reluctantly drank the dark tonic soup.
The elderly couple exchanged knowing glances on the side.
“I told you something must have happened last night.”
“See, he drank the whole thing. It’s like he emptied his body.”
Sheng Qing put down the bowl and looked at the two of them warningly.
“Stop pulling these tricks in the future.”
“Then when can I see my granddaughter-in-law?”
Sheng Qing felt a headache coming on. He said in a deep voice, “If you want to see your granddaughter-in-law, behave yourselves.”
Sheng’s grandmother raised an eyebrow.
It seems like there’s a play going on now. Before, they didn’t even bother to respond to him when asked.
Let alone drinking that pot of tonic soup.
…
Luo Wan tidied up and went straight back to the Luo family.
She had intended to confront her father, but as soon as she arrived at the doorstep, she was preemptively blocked by someone.
It was Luo Rou, her half-sister from another mother, and her mother, Rui Tianfeng, standing on either side of the door.
“What were you up to last night, sister?”
Luo Rou leaned against the door frame, speaking in a sarcastic tone.
Luo Wan was not in the mood to deal with them. She wanted to find her father and get things cleared up. She asked directly, “Where’s Dad?”
“You have the nerve to mention Dad.”
“If you hadn’t run away last night, Dad wouldn’t have to apologize to someone at this hour.”
Luo Wan furrowed her brows.
Luo Rou continued to accuse her arrogantly.
“Dad said you should kneel at the doorstep and wait for him to come back.”
“If this investment fails this time, you’ll have a hard time.”
The more Luo Wan listened, the colder she felt.
But she wouldn’t easily believe these two mother and daughter. She had to confront her father face to face about these matters.
“Move aside.”
Luo Wan’s expression turned cold and indifferent.
