Chapter 25: Why Should I Yield?

Fu Meirou looked at her son incredulously. “What’s going on?”

Huang Siyuan gritted his teeth and blurted it out. “Mom, why do you have to get to the bottom of everything? Fine, I’ll tell you. I deliberately went to pick a fight. I didn’t like that guy, so I went to block him. Are you satisfied now?”

“Huang Siyuan!” Fu Meirou shrieked. “Do you know what you’re doing?”

“I know. I’m not a kid anymore. It’s you, you never stop. You want to make a fuss, right? Okay, let’s go to the police station. Tell the police that I started it, and have them lock me up for a few months. Will that satisfy you?”

Slap! A slap landed on Huang Siyuan’s face.

Fu Meirou was so angry that her chest heaved violently. “I’m not going to bother with you anymore. Do whatever you want.”

She turned and left the ward.

Tang Tang stared at Huang Siyuan, and after a long time, she spoke. “You don’t have to do this for me, Huang Siyuan.”

Huang Siyuan took a deep breath. “I’m hungry. Feed me before you leave.”

Tang Tang laughed angrily. “Can you even eat?”

“Why not? Even if the sky falls, I can still eat.”

Lu Yunshang chuckled and turned to take out the packed food. “Let’s eat together. It cost me a lot of money. It would be a waste not to eat it.”

“Little miser, I’ll transfer you the money,” Huang Siyuan muttered.

Lu Yunshang handed his portion to Tang Tang. “Okay, transfer more then, double the amount.”

Tang Tang fed Huang Siyuan while looking at his face. “It’s red. Does it hurt?”

Huang Siyuan shook his head. “My mom’s strength isn’t that great. It doesn’t hurt that much. It’s not the first time she’s hit me.”

Tang Tang pondered for a moment, then suddenly looked up at Lu Yunshang. “Yunshang, did Auntie say you married into the Fu family? Who did you marry? Mr. Fu?”

Lu Yunshang froze. “No.”

Huang Siyuan sighed. “It was Fu Shao, Fu Hanzhou. You’ve met him. We often go drinking together at Blue Bay.”

Tang Tang was surprised. “Doesn’t Mr. Fuhave a girlfriend? I remember her name was Xiao something.”

“Xiao Nianzhen,” Lu Yunshang said for Tang Tang.

“Right, right. Mr. Fuoften takes her to Blue Bay.”

Lu Yunshang forced a smile. “It’s all in the past. Mr. Fu and I are divorced. Don’t mention it again.”

Tang Tang’s mouth dropped open, not knowing what to say.

Huang Siyuan gently nudged her. “Hurry up and feed me.”

Tang Tang didn’t ask further. After feeding Huang Siyuan, Lu Yunshang took out their two portions and ate them together.

After eating, the two drove to go shopping and see a movie.

After buying their movie tickets, Lu Yunshang saw that there was still some time before the movie started, so she suggested going to the mall downstairs.

She wanted to buy Tang Tang some nice clothes and two pairs of comfortable shoes.

The two took the elevator downstairs.

Lu Yunshang took Tang Tang to try on clothes in every store, but Tang Tang repeatedly refused. The clothes in this mall were expensive; a simple top cost one or two thousand yuan, enough to buy several online.

Lu Yunshang didn’t care. She paid for everything that Tang Tang tried on and liked.

Finally, Tang Tang refused to try on any more clothes.

“Okay, then let’s just buy two pairs of shoes. One for everyday wear, and one for work,” Lu Yunshang said.

Tang Tang couldn’t argue with her, so she followed her into a shoe store to choose shoes.

Lu Yunshang chose several pairs of flats for Tang Tang. “These are suitable for work. What size do you wear?”

“Size 36,” Tang Tang said as she flipped over the shoe. Upon seeing the price, she was shocked. “These shoes cost over a thousand yuan. They’re too expensive. It’s a waste to wear such nice shoes to work.”

“Isn’t this Sister Yunshang ?”

A woman’s voice came from behind. Lu Yunshang turned around and saw Fu Hanzhou’s mother, Lin Xiuhou, supporting Xiao Nianzhen at the entrance.

“Sister Yunshang, are you shopping with a friend?” Xiao Nianzhen had a forced smile on her face.

Seeing the shoes in front of Lu Yunshang, her eyes lit up. She turned to Lin Xiuhou and said, “Mom, look at these flats. They’re perfect for pregnant women.”

Tang Tang looked at Xiao Nianzhen’s slightly protruding belly, both shocked and angry.

Lu Yunshang lowered her eyes to look at the shoes in her hand. Her mouth felt like it was filled with stale water. Xiao Nianzhen called Lin Xiuhou “Mom,” so it seemed the Fu family had accepted Xiao Nianzhen.

And Lin Xiuhou was personally accompanying her shopping, which meant that Old Master Fu had also accepted her.

Lin Xiuhou felt a little awkward seeing Lu Yunshang, but she still beckoned to the salesperson. “Do you still have those flats in stock? Bring them all out for us to see. Size 36.”

The salesperson hurried to the warehouse and returned with several pairs of shoes. “There’s only one pair left in black, size 36. Please take a look…”

Xiao Nianzhen snatched the shoes. “I like this pair the most. I’ll take it.”

She sat down, took off her shoes, and prepared to try on the new ones.

“Wait, Miss Xiao, we were here first. We saw these shoes first,” Lu Yunshang said, reaching out to take the shoes from Xiao Nianzhen’s hand and handing them to Tang Tang. “Try them on to see if they fit.”

Xiao Nianzhen clenched her fists tightly.

Lu Yunshang didn’t bother with her. Seeing that they fit Tang Tang well, she said to the salesperson, “I’ll take them.”

After paying, Lu Yunshang quickly pulled Tang Tang away.

The two went upstairs to the cinema to wait for the movie.

Tang Tang thought for a long time before speaking. “Yunshang, did you divorce because Xiao Nianzhen is pregnant?”

Lu Yunshang smiled. “They were always a couple. I was the one who suddenly appeared. Now everyone is just back where they should be.”

“Did your father force you to marry?”

Lu Yunshang nodded. “I’ll go buy some popcorn and drinks. You watch the things.”

Buying popcorn was just an excuse. Lu Yunshang didn’t want to talk about Fu Hanzhou，but she never expected to see Fu Hanzhou queuing to buy popcorn. He was also surprised to see her.

“Hanzhou，why are you taking so long?” Xiao Nianzhen ran over and affectionately took Fu Hanzhou’s hand. “Sister Yunshang, we meet again. Are you and your friend here to watch a movie too?”

Lu Yunshang turned her head to order, ignoring them.

“Hanzhou，I met Sister Yunshang when I was buying shoes just now. We both liked the same pair of shoes, and she gave them to her friend.”

Fu Hanzhou raised an eyebrow. “If you liked them, just buy them. Why did you give them away?”

Lu Yunshang rolled her eyes angrily. “Xiao Nianzhen, my friend and I were in the store first, and we picked the shoes first. You came later. Why should we give them away?”

Xiao Nianzhen’s face turned pale, clenching her fists in anger. Lu Yunshang always competed with her for everything. If Lu Yunshang hadn’t suddenly appeared back then, she would have married into the Fu family.

Seeing Xiao Nianzhen unhappy, Fu Hanzhou comforted her. “It’s just a pair of shoes. If you like them, I can buy the whole store.”

Lu Yunshang sneered. “Mr. Fu is so generous.”

Fu Hanzhou’s face darkened. “Lu Yunshang, why are you being sarcastic?”

Lu Yunshang took the popcorn and coke from the salesperson and turned to leave, but Fu Hanzhou followed and grabbed her.

“Lu Yunshang, you deliberately snatched the shoes from Nianzhen, didn’t you?”

“So what? Why should I yield to her? I yielded my husband to her, and now even a pair of shoes?” Lu Yunshang asked with wide eyes.
