Chapter 58
Xiao Yuanyi quickly parked the car downstairs at Xie Fuyi’s house. Xie Fuyi, worried about his injured brother, thanked the other person and then got out of the car.
“Fuyi.” Xiao Yuanxian suddenly called out to him.
“Hmm?” Xie Fuyi looked at him in confusion.
Xiao Yuanxian had already walked down with him. “You’ve started your career now, but you’re still alone. Have you ever thought about planning your future properly?”
Xie Fuyi smiled helplessly. “I haven’t thought about it yet, mainly because I don’t know much about these things…”
Xiao Yuanyan smirked slightly. “Leave the professional matters to the professionals. I happen to have an entertainment company under me and I want to invite you to join. Are you interested?”
Xie Fuyi was taken aback, feeling a bit embarrassed as he spoke, “Brother Xiao, you’ve already helped me a lot. I really shouldn’t trouble you anymore…”
Xiao Yuanyan reached out and grabbed his shoulder, getting closer with a smile. “What’s the big deal? Aren’t we friends? Just tell me if you want to come or not.”
Xie Fuyi naturally nodded, but he still felt puzzled. The other person was arranging acting jobs for him and now offering a contract with a company… He pursed his lips. “Brother Xiao, why are you so good to me?”
“Fuyi, I…” Xiao Yuan’s dark eyes dimmed. At this moment, he held the other person’s shoulders, the two of them very close, his deep voice echoing almost in his ear, but…
“Bro!”
A hoarse voice suddenly sounded, and Xie Fuyi quickly turned around to see Bai Wuluo standing behind them. Due to the backlight, he couldn’t see the expression clearly, only the streetlights elongating his tall figure.
“Wuluo?” Xie Fuyi immediately walked a few steps toward him. “Didn’t you say you were injured? What happened?”
Bai Wuluo lowered his gaze, looking at the person in front of him who was concerned about him. His heart, which had just felt uncomfortable seeing him getting close to someone else, eased a bit.
He pursed his lips and shook his slightly swollen hand, while holding a tube of ointment in the other. “I got burned while cooking, just went to get some ointment.”
Getting burned while cooking and still bothering to call Xie Fuyi?
Xiao Yuanyan narrowed his eyes, inwardly sneering at such clumsy tactics…
But unfortunately, Xie Fuyi remained unsuspecting.
He looked worried, holding Bai Wuluo’s hand for a while before he relaxed. “Luckily, the injury isn’t too serious. Let’s go back, I’ll help you apply the ointment. Take good care of it these few days, don’t touch water…”
“Okay, thanks, brother.” Bai Wuluo smiled deeply, glancing at the person behind him, his eyes faintly smug.
Xiao Yuanyan stiffened for a moment, almost forgetting Xie Fuyi’s kind-hearted nature. Even a slight injury could make him worry.
Bai Wuluo and Xiao Yuanyan looked at each other, both with guarded expressions. Bai Wuluo politely spoke, “Brother, who is this…?”
Xie Fuyi hurriedly introduced, “This is a friend I met on set, Xiao Yuanyan.” Then he turned to Xiao Yuanyan and said, “This is my brother, Bai Wuluo, who just returned from studying abroad.”
“The younger brother of Fuyi, hello.” Xiao Yuanyan narrowed his eyes. He had checked. Bai Wuluo was the founder of the Bai Corporation abroad. Was he pretending to burn his hand while cooking here? He was only fooling Xie Fuyi, a fool.
“So you’re Young Master Xiao.” Bai Wuluo smiled in response, but there was no warmth in his smile. Xiao Yuanyan’s reputation for being a ruthless bandit outside, everyone knew about it. What was he pretending to be a good person for in front of his brother?
The atmosphere between the two became somewhat tense.
Xie Fuyi had wanted to invite Xiao Yuanyan up to thank him for driving him back, but Bai Wuluo grabbed his wrist. “Brother, the house is a mess because of me. Will it be inconvenient?”
“This…” Xie Fuyi was taken aback.
Xiao Yuanyan glanced at Bai Wuluo, then lazily smiled. “Fuyi, it’s getting late. I should also go back. Don’t forget about what we arranged earlier. See you tomorrow.”
Xie Fuyi nodded and saw Xiao Yuansi off as he got into the car and left.
Bai Wuluo had been waiting behind them until the two went back inside. Xie Fuyi helped him apply the ointment casually before Bai Wuluo asked, “What did you and him arrange?”
“Are you talking about Brother Xiao?” Xie Fuyi smiled when he realized this. “He’s really nice, he helped me get a new role, and now he wants to sign me to their company.”
Bai Wuluo’s dark eyes chilled, a nameless anger smoldering in his chest. This guy was so stupid, he couldn’t see through the other person’s ulterior motives!
But maybe it was precisely because of this that he had an opportunity, right?
He looked down at Xie Fuyi, who was applying ointment to him, and suddenly said, “Brother, we’ll be together forever, right?”
Xie Fuyi raised his eyebrows at the words and casually replied, “Of course, we’re brothers.”
Bai Wuluo secretly curled his lips, shadows casting over his eyes — he could only belong to him, no one else could even think about it.
…
Xie Fuyi soon signed with Xiao Yuanxi’s company. They assigned him a manager and an assistant. And he got the lead role in the second drama, an idol drama.
Indeed, being supported by someone made a difference.
The historical drama he had previously filmed released character posters and trailers. His portrayal of the senior apprentice brother attracted much attention, and overnight his fanbase grew by hundreds of thousands.
…
The assistant explained tomorrow’s schedule to Xie Fuyi, “Brother Xie, tomorrow we’ll go to the company to take a few sets of photos. I’ll come pick you up at eight in the morning.”
Xie Fuyi nodded. Now that he had some fans, he couldn’t wander around casually anymore.
He had moved to a slightly larger house, but Bai Wuluo still lived with him.
Even though there were two bedrooms, at night…
Xie Fuyi felt helpless. Bai Wuluo was enthusiastic about cooking every night, and his skills had indeed improved rapidly, almost catching up to the top chef in the world.
But there were things inside!
Every time he finished eating, he felt sleepy, and every night, Bai Wuluo would come into his room and disturb him.
He felt like his chest was even more sensitive now. The clothes he wore were all custom-made by Bai Wuluo, but the ordinary fabric felt uncomfortable on his skin.
…
The next day, Xie Fuyi arrived at the photoshoot location. The photographer was ready, and they quickly got into the theme and started shooting.
Xiao Yuanxi’s office was on the top floor of this building. When he finished his work and came down to see Xie Fuyi, the latter had just finished shooting and had gone to the rest area.
In the rest area, Xie Fuyi sighed softly. The clothes were making him uncomfortable, so he took advantage of the break to ask his assistant to buy two band-aids. It should feel more comfortable to stick them on his chest later during the shoot.
Xiao Yuanyan walked towards the rest area and coincidentally met Xie Fuyi’s assistant who was hurrying over with band-aids in hand.
His expression changed slightly. “What’s going on? Is he injured?”
The assistant saw him and hurriedly said, “Mr. Xiao, Brother Xie just asked me to buy them. He didn’t say where he’s injured, but he seems a bit uncomfortable.”
Xiao Yuanyan frowned and took the bandages from him. “I’ll go see.”
He waved his hand, dismissing the assistant, and went to the rest area himself.
With his keycard, Xiao Yuanyan opened the door and entered the room, only to be confronted with Xie Fuyi sitting on the sofa shirtless, his black shirt piled around his waist, accentuating his pale skin. He was holding something in his hands, applying it to his chest, with two prominent red marks…
Xiao Yuanyan’s pupils contracted. With his excellent vision, he immediately saw the obvious marks on Xie Fuyi’s chest, clearly left by someone sucking on it. In an instant, his mind buzzed, and a nameless anger surged in his chest — damn it! Pretending to be innocent in front of him? Even his breasts were swollen from someone’s play!
Xiao Yuan’s chest burned hotter and hotter, but the angrier he became, the calmer his expression appeared, with only his terrifyingly deep black eyes.
He locked the door behind him and approached step by step.
Xie Fuyi thought it was the assistant coming back and spoke gently, “Xiao Wu, did you bring the band-aids? Give them to me…”
Without lifting his head, Xiao Yuanyan’s smile at the corner of his lips turned somewhat cold, his lazy voice tinged with mockery as he spoke, “Band-aids? I’m afraid they won’t stick to such a sao Nako”
Xie Fuyi looked up and was stunned when he saw Xiao Yuanxi, then immediately understood the implication of his words. His expression changed instantly, a mix of embarrassment and anger, “Xiao Yuanxi! What nonsense are you spouting?”
The anger in Xie Fuyi’s gentle eyes seemed to make them shine brightly.
Though he angrily called out Xiao Yuansi’s name, there was still a hint of hurt in his expression. He couldn’t understand why his friend would speak to him like this.
Xiao Yuanyan stood before him, looking down at him with disdain in his gaze, shamelessly assessing him.
Still, pretending?
If others could play around casually, then naturally he could too.
