Chapter 32
“Speak when there’s something to speak about,” Luo Wan furrowed her brow, always feeling that this sudden softening was deceitful.
Just yesterday, he was calling her an unfilial daughter, like she had swallowed a bomb.
And today, suddenly, he changed his tune.
Could it be because he knew she married into the Sheng family, out of consideration for the Sheng family’s reputation?
There was a moment of silence on the phone before a voice came through.
“Wanwan, we’re at the police station now. Your sister also wants to apologize to you. Can you come over? After all, you’re sisters.”
Luo Wan understood.
So they were waiting for her here.
All of Luo Minghui’s humility seemed to be for Luo Rou, while she felt like she was always the one abandoned by him.
If her mother were still alive, she really wanted to ask herself if she was his daughter.
Luo Minghui was still waiting for an answer, becoming anxious when there was no response from her end.
“Wanwan, are you listening?”
Luo Wan snapped back to reality.
“I’ll come over later.”
Even if she didn’t speak up about Luo Rou’s matter, it wouldn’t be kept under wraps for long. It might as well take this opportunity to see what her usually proud sister looked like when she bowed her head.
After hanging up the phone, Luo Wan took her time to think over the design before leaving at a leisurely pace.
Still, it was Uncle Wang who sent her.
The black Mercedes parked steadily at the entrance of the police station as Luo Wan stepped out in casual shoes.
“Wanwan.” Luo Minghui and Rui Tianfeng had been waiting at the entrance for a while and immediately greeted her warmly upon seeing her.
Luo Wan lifted her head and walked inside coldly.
With the warm welcome met by cold indifference, cracks began to show in Luo Minghui’s disguised kindness.
Suppressing the urge to strangle the other party, he also walked inside.
Though they were in a police station, this family was capable of anything when they went mad.
Uncle Wang, fearing Madam might suffer, cautiously followed behind.
The group entered the police station.
Luo Rou had been waiting, her hands in handcuffs.
Her hair was disheveled, lips dry, and face pale. She looked utterly disheveled, bearing no resemblance to the wealthy young lady she used to be.
Rui Tianfeng couldn’t help but feel heartbroken and rushed over.
“Rou’er, you’ve suffered.”
These days, Rou’er had been detained without even the right to receive visitors.
Seeing Luo Rou, who seemed like a completely different person now, only fueled Luo Wan’s resentment.
But when she thought about their plan, she could only suppress her anger.
Luo Wan casually found a
Sitting down on the chair, she watched the deep bond between mother and daughter.
After Luo Rou finished complaining to her mother, she glanced at Luo Wan.
Thinking that her recent troubles were all thanks to the other party, Luo Wan, it made her seethe with anger.
She had been locked up for these past few days, unaware of what was happening outside.
She only thought that her parents were backing her up, and today she was determined to seek revenge.
“Mom, it’s all because of this woman.”
Luo Rou pointed at Luo Wan with resentment, her eyes brimming with intense hatred. “It’s this woman who plotted against me. You must deal with her properly.”
“Rou’er, this is your sister,” Luo Minghui feared that Luo Rou might say something to offend Luo Wan, so he quickly reminded her, “We already know what happened that day, you should apologize quickly.”
Upon hearing this, Luo Rou looked at her father in disbelief.
How could his heart change in just two days?
She had suffered so much, and not only did he not care, but he also wanted her to apologize right away.
“I won’t apologize,” Luo Rou remained stubborn.
As she turned her head, she suddenly saw Uncle Wang who had just come in.
She remembered, it was this old man who took Luo Wan away that day.
And even the police chief was polite to him at the time.
Luo Rou seemed to have discovered a new world.
Pointing at Uncle Wang, she said, “It’s him, he’s the one who supports Luo Wan. He’s the one who took Luo Wan away that day.”
“Dad, think about it. Luo Wan, a woman from the countryside, hasn’t gone home for so many days and has no money. How could she survive in this city?”
Luo Rou provocatively lifted her chin.
Daring to keep her locked up for several days, she was going to ruin her.
Meeting her gaze, Luo Wan smirked coldly.
“It seems that my sister still hasn’t realized her mistake. Today, I’ll just consider it a wasted trip.”
With that, she stood up to leave.
Luo Minghui hurriedly stopped her, shouting at Luo Rou, “Apologize quickly!”
Luo Rou was even more incredulous.
Her father didn’t even believe her.
“Rou’er, there’s a long story behind this. Apologize first, and I’ll explain it to you when we get back.” Rui Tianfeng looked at her husband’s furious appearance, knowing that if her daughter remained stubborn, she would inevitably suffer a bit more, so she quickly whispered in her ear.
Luo Rou didn’t know what had happened these past two days.
Not only had her father changed, but even her mother was siding with that woman.
Looking at her father, who could raise his hand at any moment,
Luo Rou’s eyes filled with tears.
Disappointed, she said to her mother: “
“Mom, what’s wrong with you guys?”
Then she pointed at Uncle Wang and growled, “What did that man give you guys? You don’t even believe your own daughter’s words anymore.”
“I won’t apologize to this despicable person.”
At this, Luo Wan turned around.
Looking at the disheveled crying person before her, her eyes turned cold, and she said, “What to do? You have to apologize to me before you can leave.”
Luo Rou’s eyes seemed to be ablaze with fury.
“You shameless woman who sells yourself for benefits, what’s there to be proud of?”
“Don’t you feel disgusted sleeping with an old man every day?”
…
At this moment, Luo Rou no longer had the demeanor of a refined young lady, she looked more like a shrew.
Smack!
Suddenly, a loud slap echoed in the hall.
Luo Rou finally shut up, staring blankly at her father.
“Apologize to your sister quickly.”
Luo Minghui kept his hand behind his back, his face stern.
Rui Tianfeng hugged her daughter, constantly reminding her in a soft voice.
“Rou’er, we can’t afford to offend the man behind her. Better to apologize now and sort things out later.”
“Whatever grievances you have today, Mom will find a way to help you get justice.”
The last sentence was whispered into Luo Rou’s ear.
After receiving a slap, Luo Rou might have finally realized the reality and stopped resisting.
“I’m sorry.”
Gritting her teeth, she reluctantly squeezed out the words from between her teeth.
“Are you whispering?” Luo Wan rubbed her ear and furrowed her brows slightly. “When you were plotting against others, you weren’t this quiet.”
Luo Rou closed her eyes, her fists clenched tightly at her sides.
“I’m sorry.”
“Huh?” Luo Wan pretended to lean forward, as if she couldn’t hear.
“Luo Wan, don’t push your luck.” Luo Rou raised her head, her eyes red.
“Who am I pushing luck with? Dad said Sister needs to apologize. Since Sister didn’t do it willingly, I can’t force her. I’ll leave you alone.”
Saying this, she made to leave.
Luo Rou was in a panic. These past few days here were unbearable.
If she didn’t leave soon, she would go crazy.
“I’m sorry.”
This time she said it out loud, and as the words fell, even more tears surged from her eyes.
“I can hear you, no need to shout.”
Luo Wan rubbed her aching ear.
