Chapter 856: Making trouble at the Clinic

“Don’t worry, Nan Qiao is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Dealing with him won’t be easy,” Su Yu was the one who understood Nan Qiao the best.

Despite his gentle appearance, when it comes down to it, even several members of Yu Yan Clan are no match for him.

Let alone someone like Yu Yan, who is arrogant and self-righteous.

“By the way, does Nan Qiao’s father not intervene in their affairs?”

Su Yu nodded, “Indeed, he has never intervened. I’m not exactly sure of the specific reasons.”

He had never asked Nan Qiao about this matter.

Once, someone had inquired about Nan Qiao’s father, but at that time, Nan Qiao remained silent, not uttering a single word.

The expression on his face turned sour, and since then, no one dared to ask Nan Qiao about his father.

Due to this, their understanding of Nan Qiao’s father was very limited.

Wang Jinhe nodded knowingly, “I see.”

It seems that this father is truly indifferent towards his own son.

If he had shown even a little concern for Nan Qiao, things might not have ended up like this. Unfortunately, he chose to ignore Nan Qiao, allowing him to spiral under Yu Yan’s control.

“Forget about Nan Qiao’s father. If you plan to go next year, you might have a chance to meet Nan Qiao’s father.”

“I’d rather not meet him. I’m afraid I won’t be able to control myself from giving him a piece of my mind once we meet. Having such a good son, he really doesn’t appreciate it.”

“Do you think Nan Qiao is at fault? Is this how he treats Nan Qiao?”

“Who knows? We will eventually find out what happened,” Su Yu tried to soothe.

Wang Jinhe nodded reluctantly, choosing not to delve further into Nan Qiao’s affairs.

Yu Yan was taken by the imperial guards to the town to have her wounds treated by Huang Qi.

During the examination, Huang Qi was mistaken for a charlatan and even received a slap.

Huang Qi’s expression darkened instantly. After being a physician for so many years, this was the first time a patient had struck him.

“If Madam does not wish to have her hand treated, please leave through that door,” Huang Qi pointed towards the exit, issuing a stern expulsion.

Yu Yan was surprised that a physician from a clinic would dare to speak to her in such a manner.

“How dare you, a mere clinic worker, show disrespect to me, a lady of high status?”

Huang Qi was not intimidated. Glancing at those around him, he sarcastically remarked, “Esteemed Madam, please leave my humble clinic. My clinic is not suitable for someone of your kind to rest. Kindly depart.”

Huang Qi had his pride, and he couldn’t tolerate Yu Yan’s rude behavior.

“Name your price, and I will pay whatever it takes for you to heal my wounds,” they had already inquired before coming that this person was the best in his field.

When seeking treatment, she naturally sought the best and wouldn’t settle for mediocre doctors.

Huang Qi, observing Yu Yan’s entitled demeanor, gave her a critical once-over before sarcastically remarking, “Even if you offer me riches, I won’t treat your hand. You may leave now.”

Had this woman not been so arrogant and disrespectful earlier, perhaps he would have considered treating her injuries. Unfortunately, she held herself in too high regard.

“Madam, not everyone is eager for your meager sum of money,” Huang Qi retorted sarcastically.

He could tell at a glance that her injuries were not ordinary; a regular physician wouldn’t suffice.

Perhaps she was aware of this, prompting her request for his treatment. Regrettably, he wasn’t swayed by her actions.

“Please leave. Do not obstruct my patients from entering,” Huang Qi firmly instructed Yu Yan and her entourage to depart.

Yu Yan, noticing the handprint on Huang Qi’s face, furrowed her brows slightly, “Are you refusing to treat me because I struck you?”

Huang Qi remained silent, showing little interest in engaging with Yu Yan.

“If it was because of that, I can apologize,” Yu Yan offered, realizing her earlier actions had been overly impulsive.

“No need for apologies. I am not in a position to demand an apology from you. Please leave,” Huang Qi responded firmly.

“I will leave once you treat my arm,” Yu Yan stated bluntly.

Her demeanor was starting to verge on being unreasonable.

“I cannot treat your injury. You should seek a more skilled practitioner. My knowledge is limited,” Huang Qi stated directly.

The apprentice’s expression turned peculiar upon hearing Huang Qi’s words. If even his master considered himself inexperienced, were there any skilled physicians in this town?

However, considering the woman had physically assaulted the master and made such remarks, it was understandable why he refused to treat her arm. She had brought this upon herself.

“Madam, please leave,” the apprentice addressed Yu Yan and her companions.

How could Yu Yan not see through Huang Qi’s deception?

If it weren’t for Nan Qiao using special means to break her arm, making it difficult to heal, why would she bother talking to a mere physician, lowering herself to such a level?

Huang Qi could easily discern the disdain in the martial artist’s eyes.

Yu Yan glanced at those behind her, instructing, “Block the door and don’t let anyone enter.”

“Madam, this isn’t appropriate.” It was evident that the Madam was at fault for the situation, as the physician was unwilling to treat her arm due to her misconduct. However, she was now acting overly audacious.

“It’s my decision, and it’s none of your business,” Yu Yan retorted coldly.

The guards exchanged a resigned look, reluctantly obeying Yu Yan’s orders, ushering all the patients out of the clinic and blocking the door.

Amused by Yu Yan’s actions, Huang Qi chuckled inwardly.

Observing Yu Yan nonchalantly seat herself as if she owned the place.

Yu Yan looked up at Huang Qi and stated, “Once you’ve treated my injury, then I’ll allow people to enter.”

To Huang Qi, this sounded like a threat.

Glancing at Yu Yan, Huang Qi remained indifferent and replied, “It doesn’t matter.”

“Let’s tidy up and close the door,” Huang Qi instructed the people beside him.

“Yes, Master,” the apprentice began organizing the items in the clinic.

After finishing the preparations, the apprentice approached Yu Yan and said, “Madam, we are closing. Please leave.”

Yu Yan’s face turned ashen as she stared at Huang Qi.

She never expected a mere physician from a small clinic to challenge her in such a way.

“Fine, you have some nerve.” Yu Yan had already endured mistreatment from Nan Qiao, and now a mere physician dared to provoke her, making it unbearable for her.

“I’ll give you one last chance. Heal my arm now, and I’ll overlook what has transpired,” Yu Yan commanded coldly, gazing at Huang Qi.

Huang Qi, unyielding, responded bluntly, “It’s time for you to leave.”

Observing Huang Qi’s unwavering demeanor, Yu Yan chuckled in exasperation, “Very well.”

“Destroy this place for me.”

“Madam…”

“I want you to destroy it.”

The apprentice, hearing her command, grew anxious, “Master…”

“No need to worry,” reassured Huang Qi.

As they began wrecking the clinic, they hurried to inform Su Yu.

Upon receiving the message from Huang Qi, Su Yu’s gaze turned slightly cold. It seemed that Yu Yan truly wouldn’t stop until she saw the consequences.
