My Sons’ Golden Fingers Merged with Mine After Transmigration Chapter 3

Chapter 3: Brave Fight with a Child Trafficker

The nurse asked again if there was anyone at home who could come to help take care of her. Qiu Yinuo shook her head, her mood heavy.

“My husband is a soldier. A few days ago, the military sent word that he had died in the line of duty. My mother-in-law couldn’t handle the shock and disappeared. As for me, I have no family to turn to.”

In her memory, the original owner did have family.

But with a family like that, it was as good as having none.

Her parents had favored sons over daughters, and she had a lazy, gluttonous younger brother who did nothing productive. It was a miracle the original owner had even survived.

“I can manage on my own. I just ask that you help guide me as much as you can.”

People of this era held deep respect—even reverence—for soldiers. Hearing Qiu Yinuo’s tragic story, the nurse was visibly moved and deeply sympathetic.

“All right. I’ll come by often when I’m free. If you have questions, just ask. I’ll also let the others know to help bring you meals and such.”

“Comrade, thank you so much. I’m sorry to trouble you.”

Qiu Yinuo had hoped that after feeding the babies, she could get some rest and process the absurd fact that she had transmigrated into a book.

But before she could even lie down, the nurse began checking how well her lochia was discharging.

Then came a series of painful abdominal presses. “This helps your uterus contract and expel any remaining material from the uterine cavity.”

Qiu Yinuo let out a sharp scream. The pain made tears gush from her eyes.

“Ouch! Comrade, could you be a little gentler?!”

The nurse went on explaining how failing to clear the uterine cavity could lead to infections and complications.

But her hand didn’t ease up in the slightest. For a moment, Qiu Yinuo swore she saw her long-dead parents hovering in front of her eyes.

“Comrade Qiu, keep it down—you’ll wake the babies.”

Qiu Yinuo instinctively clamped her mouth shut, but her tears only fell harder.

In her heart, she cursed Shao Chengyuan’s ancestors eighteen generations back.

She couldn’t even remember when the nurse had left. All she could do was lie facedown on the bed, groaning softly as if that could somehow dull the pain.

Somewhere between sleep and waking, a piercing scream startled her wide awake.

“Someone’s stealing a baby!”

She shot upright in bed and immediately looked toward the crib.

Only one baby was there.

Her scalp tingled as if electrocuted. Every strand of hair stood on end.

Her son?

She had fought tooth and nail to give birth to two sons—how was one missing?

Ignoring her own pain, she scooped up the elder twin and rushed out of the room without a second thought.

A figure flashed past her like lightning. Behind him, someone shouted, “Stop that man—he’s carrying a baby!”

Qiu Yinuo looked closer. The man indeed held a baby in his arms.

His face was twisted in a vicious scowl, and he had clearly run a long way, knocking down who knew how many people along the way.

Just the thought that her younger son might be the one in his arms made her blood boil. Without hesitation, she launched forward.

She had been kidnapped as a child. After narrowly escaping with her life, her eldest brother and sister-in-law had arranged for her to learn martial arts. Thai boxing, judo, tai chi, fencing—she had won numerous awards.

Qiu Yinuo wouldn’t go so far as to say she was unbeatable, but catching a child trafficker in this era? That was well within her abilities.

In just a few strides, she narrowed the gap between them. The man didn’t expect her to pursue him so relentlessly. In desperation, he grabbed a woman from the crowd and shoved her at Qiu Yinuo.

But Qiu Yinuo moved faster. Cradling her elder son, she sidestepped the “obstacle” with ease.

Just then, she saw an old man come out to watch the commotion, holding a large enamel tea mug. Without hesitation, Qiu Yinuo snatched the mug from him and hurled it at the back of the fleeing man’s head.

The mug wasn’t heavy, but she had put real strength behind the throw—and it hit its mark.

Clang! The sharp sound made everyone present wince and instinctively reach for the backs of their own heads.

The man yelped in pain and stumbled mid-run.

Qiu Yinuo seized the chance to snatch the baby out of his arms. Whoa—this baby was heavy.

She glanced down. The chubby infant in her arms was clearly not her younger twin.

The next moment, an elderly woman rushed up from behind and snatched the baby out of her arms.

“My grandson! My sweet grandson, what happened to you?”

The baby still slept soundly, showing no sign of waking. It was obvious he’d been drugged beforehand.

“Doctor! Someone get a doctor for my grandson!” the old woman’s shrill cries echoed down the hospital corridor.

All Qiu Yinuo could think was: This isn’t my son. Then where is my son?!

Seeing that he had failed to steal a child, the man tried to flee.

While everyone was distracted by the sobbing grandmother, the child trafficker turned and tried to vanish into the crowd.

Qiu Yinuo wasn’t having it. Clutching the older twin tightly, she lashed out with a powerful side kick—right into the man’s lower back.

“Ahh!” the man cried as he collapsed onto his knees.

Desperate, he grabbed a nearby broom and swung it at her.

But Qiu Yinuo’s reflexes were lightning fast. She ducked just in time, and the broom struck a woman in the face instead.

The man, now wild-eyed and cornered, pulled a small knife from his coat. A collective gasp rang out as the crowd instinctively stepped back in alarm.

The woman who’d been hit had wanted to argue, but when she saw the glint of the blade in the man’s hand, her legs trembled in fear.

Qiu Yinuo narrowed her eyes slightly. With a swift kick, she dragged the fallen broom closer to her foot.

The trafficker bared his teeth. “You crazy bitch, come any closer and I’ll stab you!”

Qiu Yinuo scoffed coldly and barked at the stunned onlookers, “I’ll hold him off—someone go call the Public Security Bureau!” Then she kicked the broom up into her hand in one smooth motion. “You really had the nerve to kidnap my kid? You must have a death wish.”

The man’s eyes darkened—he remembered the child his accomplice had already taken out. There was a murderous glint in his gaze.

Damn it, he thought. There’s no way I’m getting out of here without blood today.

It would have to be a quick fight. If the Public Security arrived, he’d be done for.

The blade in his hand gleamed under the sunlight, cold and deadly. The crowd screamed in terror.

But Qiu Yinuo stood firm, veins bulging on the arm gripping the broom.

All around them, people screamed for doctors, for help, for the police—but none of the noise shook her focus.

She wielded the broom like a sword. With explosive force, she pushed off with her back leg, kicked out with the front, and followed up with a rapid attack—no hesitation, no pause.

All the jolting finally woke Shao Xingchen in her arms. He struggled to open his tiny eyes—unsuccessfully.

Still, from the noisy crowd, he gathered what was happening: someone had stolen his cheap younger brother.

That enraged the little guy. He’d just gotten a blood-related brother and hadn’t even had the chance to treasure him properly—and someone already tried to take him away?

These traffickers deserved death a hundred times over.

Even though his current view couldn’t make out his mother’s expression clearly, he could easily sense the fury radiating from her body.
