Crazy And Obsessive? No, She’s A Serene and Gentle Big Sister Chapter 20

Chapter 20: You Guys, Eternal Robbery Players, React So Fast!

Night fell.

Upbeat music blared from several large speakers on the Mingxian Academy playground.

Colorful spotlights danced across the stage.

The digital screen provided stunning visual effects.

One program after another took the stage.

There were hot dancers, singers performing emotional ballads, pianists, comedians, magicians…

Everyone’s faces were filled with anticipation and excitement.

Jiang Yichen watched attentively, not missing a single performance. Zhang Wei, sitting beside him, was different.

Whenever a girl appeared on stage, he would put down his phone and start staring.

Old pervert… Jiang Yichen thought.

Time slipped away quietly.

“Wait, where’s Professor Qin?” Zhang Wei wondered. “Wasn’t she supposed to perform? What’s going on? The event’s almost over!”

“She’s probably the final act,” Jiang Yichen said.

With Professor Qin’s looks and skills, she should be the last performer!

“Makes sense,” Zhang Wei nodded.

Almost everyone believed the message on the confession wall.

They all eagerly waited for Qin Ling to perform.

At that moment, Qin Ling was sitting in the teacher’s seats, looking down at her phone.

Mingxian Academy’s performances were always the same: singing, dancing, comedy, and magic.

Qin Ling had watched these shows for three years when she was a student here.

She was now immune to them, completely uninterested.

“Hey, Ling, wasn’t it said on the school’s confession wall that you’d be performing today?” Lin Yao asked curiously. “The event’s almost over. When are you going on stage?”

“Who told you that?”

“Someone from school.”

“Fake news.”

As soon as Qin Ling spoke, the host on stage announced, “Next up is our academy’s final performance! Unlike our usual performances, we’ll be randomly selecting an audience member to perform!”

With that, the colorful spotlights on stage began sweeping across the playground.

Finally, all the lights focused on a teacher in the second row of the teacher’s seats, wearing a black shirt.

Professor Qin’s style remained consistent.

She simply changed the color: a black shirt and a dark blue midi skirt.

“Wow…” Lin Yao murmured. “So that’s how she’s going on stage.”

“……” Qin Ling frowned. This was clearly deliberate.

She hated the feeling of being manipulated.

“Let’s see who our lucky winner is,” the host said. “It’s Professor Qin Ling! Let’s give her a warm welcome!”

The entire playground’s atmosphere ignited, instantly filled with thunderous applause.

“Finally!”

Zhang Wei put down his phone and looked up, only to find the view completely blocked by Shen An’s rear…

“Shen An, have some manners and sit down!” Zhang Wei immediately stood up.

Jiang Yichen chimed in, “Big brother, you’re too slow. As soon as the host finished speaking, almost everyone in the back stood up…”

I wonder what the academy was thinking.

It was a welcome party, yet all the freshmen were seated at the back. Was that appropriate?

From the back, the only way to see clearly was to stand.

Jiang Yichen watched Qin Ling walk slowly onto the stage.

Unexpectedly, Qin Ling simply said a few words before stepping down. “I don’t feel well today.”

Her brisk steps and rosy complexion didn’t suggest she was unwell at all.

Qin Ling’s simple statement stunned everyone in the audience.

The host was the first to react, showcasing her professionalism. “Alright, since Professor Qin isn’t feeling well, we’ll move on to our next lucky winner.”

The stage lights began to wander around the playground again.

Half a minute later, Jiang Yichen suddenly felt something was off. His field of vision suddenly widened.

Those who had stood up immediately sat down.

The spotlights had turned toward his direction.

Jiang Yichen reacted quickly, immediately preparing to sit down.

However, to his surprise, Zhang Wei reacted even faster, pulling him up just as he was about to sit down, then sat down himself.

Jiang Yichen couldn’t help but admire the other guy’s reflexes.  He was truly quick on his feet.

“Zhang Dapao, you…”

Jiang Yichen wanted to scold him, but his close-up image was already on the digital screen… so he held back his words.

“Let’s welcome our lucky winner to the stage,” the host announced.

Jiang Yichen confidently walked onto the stage, his swaggering gait contrasting with the audience’s enthusiastic gaze.

“Student, could you give us a brief self-introduction?” the host asked.

“Freshman, piano major, Jiang Yichen,” Jiang Yichen said.

“This freshman is quite handsome.”

“Thank you.”

“Could you share your thoughts on attending our school?”

“It’s great.”

“What will you be performing?”

“Singing.”

“You’re a piano major. Why sing?”

“No reason.”

“It seems like you’re usually quite cool.”

“Okay.”

Jiang Yichen looked serious, completely different from his usual demeanor.

He finally understood why Qin Ling sometimes spoke so little.

Didn’t this instantly elevate his image?

The audience was amused.

This short interview was pretty interesting.

Jiang Yichen’s handsome face also caused many older female students’ hearts to flutter.

“Jiang Yichen! Huanhuan, look, your brother is on stage!”

“I see, I see.”

Jiang Suihua propped her chin up, looking at Jiang Yichen’s face on the big screen, sighing… her brother was so handsome!

“Huanhuan… the thing I asked you to help me with…”

“Hey, my brother said that he just started university and doesn’t want to date; he just wants to study hard. Sorry.”

Jiang Suihua casually explained.

She had wanted to help, but her brother didn’t seem interested in dating.

“Oh… okay…” a disappointed voice came from beside Jiang Suihua.

“……”

“Damn, when did Lao Jiang become so composed?” Zhang Wei winked.

“I don’t know. But can he really sing?” Shen An wondered.

Studying piano and studying vocals were two different things.

Many pianists made a mess of singing.

“Why don’t you two take out your phones and start recording?” Zheng Mingcheng reminded them. “I have a feeling that Lao Jiang is about to make a fool of himself in a big way.”

Zhang Wei: “Makes sense.”

Shen An: “Agreed.”

“……”

“Hey, hey, Ling,” Lin Yao laughed at the interview. “Don’t you think he talks like you?”

“Does he?”

“Of course! I think he’s exactly like you!”

“Oh.”

Qin Ling also looked at the stage. She had a feeling that this kid was imitating her way of speaking!

The host on stage was speechless, but her smile remained intact. “What song will you be singing, student? Do you need accompaniment? Or will you be playing and singing?”

Jiang Yichen walked confidently towards the grand piano and waved to the host. “Piano and vocals.”
