How could this girl say such things in front of elders? It’s so embarrassing.
Yet, Qi Han didn’t realize that the look he gave Huanhuan was so tender it seemed to overflow with warmth.
“Good, wonderful! A heaven-ordained marriage is truly wonderful!”
Mother Qi clapped her hands in delight, her gaze toward Qin Tianru growing ever more affectionate and kind. She had completely forgotten her earlier anger.
Father Qi also wore a faint smile, his eyes filled with satisfaction.
Foreseeing the future?
This was practically a legendary divine ability! Knowing what would happen in advance meant they could smoothly avoid misfortune and seek prosperity.
When put this way, it was truly a blessing for the Qi family. Who would have thought their eldest son would have such a marriage and such fortune?
On second thought, could this be considered a blessing in disguise for their family?
With this in mind, Father Qi’s heavy, stifled mood lightened somewhat. He turned to his son and instructed,
“Then pick a time to formalize this matter. We can’t let Huanhuan live with you without any proper recognition. That wouldn’t do.”
Mother Qi immediately agreed, “Yes, yes! We can’t let our Ruyu suffer any grievances.”
“Good, I understand.”
Seeing his parents unanimously approve, Qi Han was thrilled. The thought of a future with her by his side made his heart leap with joy.
But thinking of the main branch of the family, Qi Han’s heart sank again.
“However, the most urgent matter now is to resolve the issue with the main branch.”
Father Qi nodded. “You’re right. Today, someone came to warn us, saying they’d demand a satisfactory explanation from us the day after tomorrow.”
Qi Han frowned in thought. “Father, this matter shouldn’t be delayed. We must prepare in advance…”
Late that night, in the early hours, Qi Han took Huanhuan’s hand and left the house under cover of darkness.
There was no other way—time was tight. Qi Han had much to do, and all of it required time. They had to seize every moment to prepare.
Qi Han and Qin Tianru had returned to the provincial capital a step ahead of that “Boss Xu,” so the local ruffians hadn’t yet begun closely monitoring their home. But by tomorrow, that might change.
It was possible someone would be stationed near their residence to keep an eye on their family’s movements, making it difficult for them to act freely.
Thus, the best time to act was tonight—to take precautions while their enemies were unprepared.
So, the two of them sneaked into the warehouse under the cover of darkness to collect the valuable lumber.
On their way back, Qi Han had already gained a deep understanding of the wonders of the storage space—a virtual dimension capable of holding everything.
With such a miraculous tool at their disposal, it was only natural to secure their valuables. There was probably no safer place in the world than the storage space.
Even keeping their valuables on their persons might not be entirely safe, let alone in a house shared with the main branch of the family.
With the storage space, their family could secretly hide all their valuable possessions without anyone noticing.
The warehouse was pitch black, so Qin Tianru once again took out her luminous pearl to light the way.
“Huanhuan, we can take these over here,” Qi Han said. Having grown up working with lumber, he could easily distinguish high-quality wood.
“Okay.”
With a single touch, the wood on the shelves vanished almost instantly.
And so, Qi Han identified the lumber while Qin Tianru handled the storing. The two worked in perfect harmony, and within a dozen minutes, all the valuable wood in the warehouse had been collected.
They didn’t plan to empty the warehouse entirely—they left some behind for appearances. After all, most laymen wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between good and bad wood.
“Alright, let’s go home.”
