The venue was a local badminton hall. Upon entering, Song Yi immediately spotted Cheng Song amidst a group of students who barely had any hair. Cheng Song sported simple activewear, which softened his usual serious demeanor and made him appear much younger.
After exchanging greetings, Song Yi changed into lightweight clothing.
Cheng Song had excellent skill on the court, displaying precise accuracy and sharp angles. Despite Song Yi’s previous proficiency, his lack of practice rendered him unfamiliar with the game, resulting in a few victories.
Exhausted, Song Yi tossed aside his racket and collapsed onto a nearby bench, wiping sweat from his forehead while loosening his collar. “Master Cheng, I surrender!”
Cheng Song chuckled and handed him a bottle of mineral water. “Your endurance seems worse than before. Haven’t been hitting the gym lately?”
Taking a sip of water, Song Yi laughs lightly. “You caught me.”
He doesn’t know if it’s because he didn’t go to the gym lately but he has been feeling drained and lacking energy lately.
Song Yi’s back was soaked with sweat, his sweaty clothes pressed against the slender white curve of his neck and the skin behind his neck was soaked in sweat as if coated with a layer of glitter.
Cheng Song sitting next to him couldn’t help but steal another glance, feeling a sense of indescribable admiration. “What are your plans regarding contract termination”
“Taking a break and spending time with my mother and sister.” Song Yi replied that he had already made arrangements to connect with Shen Li during his vacation.
Cheng Song jokingly asked, “Any thoughts on marriage? Hasn’t your aunt been pressing you?”
Hearing this, Song Yi felt helpless as he sighs. “She nags every day, but it doesn’t make much difference.”
Cheng Song patted his shoulder and said, “What kind of person are you looking for?”
Caught off guard by the personal question, Song Yi hesitated for a moment. He had never discussed his emotional preferences with Cheng Song before and felt slightly overwhelmed. After pondering, he replied honestly. “I’m looking for someone who fits into a simple life.”
His envisioned future was uncomplicated, revolving around simple pleasures like food, tea, nature, and shared interests with a partner.
Cheng Song nodded thoughtfully. “Long-lasting relationships are built on mutual happiness and compatibility. It’s not just about living comfortably, it’s about being happy with that person.”
Agreeing with a smile, Song Yi politely returned the question. “What about you? What kind of person are you searching for?”
Cheng Song squinted his eyes and smiled meaningfully, “I want to find someone who shares my interests and makes me feel relaxed.”
“This is quite easy to find.” Song Yi vaguely felt something was wrong, but couldn’t say what was wrong.
Cheng Song reached out and took the mineral water that Song Yi had placed on the stool. He calmly took a sip and said, “Finding such compatibility is harder than finding water in a desert.”
Song Yi was briefly taken aback, feeling as though his friends had crossed a line. Quickly regaining his composure, he changed the subject. “Take your time in your search. By the way, did you watch the recent game?”
