Chapter 29: She Is the Only One
“Handsome uncle—”
Yuyu shouted excitedly. She didn’t dare to call him “Daddy” for fear of upsetting her mother.
The four ruffians turned around.
When they saw the man in extraordinary attire and the darkness in his eyes, they were momentarily stunned.
One of the bald men said, “Brother, which side are you on?”
“Hah—” Jiang Mujin laughed, surprised that someone would ask him which side he was on.
“Hey, what are you laughing at?” another one, a yellow-haired guy, pointed at him.
“Do you know what I hate the most?”
The yellow-haired guy looked at him in confusion: “What?”
“Being pointed at by others.”
“I’m pointing at you, so—ah!!”
Before the yellow-haired guy could finish his words, Jiang Mujin kicked him away.
The other three panicked upon seeing this.
“Who are you, exactly?”
Jiang Mujin’s voice was low and chilling: “They are my wife and child. So you tell me, who am I?”
The three hurriedly apologized: “Sorry, sorry, we were just joking—”
“Joking?”
“Who just said my daughter is a bastard? Step forward!” His voice was cold to the extreme.
A somewhat sleazy-looking man stepped forward.
As soon as Jiang Mujin saw him, his eyes instantly turned cold.
“You scum think you can covet my woman? You’re simply looking for death!” Saying this, he threw a punch.
“Ah!!!”
Huo Ziyan knew his temperament and was afraid that if he continued to hit, someone would die, so she rushed forward to stop him.
“Enough, don’t hit anymore—”
Jiang Mujin was still fuming and landed a punch on one of the remaining two.
Huo Ziyan helplessly said: “That’s enough.”
“I haven’t even started yet?”
“If you hit again, he might die—” Did this man not realize how hard he hit?
Yuyu ran into his arms, happily saying: “Handsome uncle, you’re amazing. Yuyu likes you.”
“Really? How amazing?” Jiang Mujin, filled with joy, picked her up.
“Very amazing, very amazing!” The little girl’s eyes sparkled with admiration.
“Just wait for it—” After saying that, the four ruffians fled in a panic.
“Yuyu, come down—”
Huo Ziyan didn’t want to get too involved with him and called her daughter down.
Yuyu was reluctant, hugging Jiang Mujin’s neck and saying sweetly: “Mommy, I like the handsome uncle—”
“I don’t like him—”
“Mommy—”
“Come down!” Huo Ziyan ’s tone turned stern.
Jiang Mujin gently said: “You scared the child.”
“Jiang Mujin, I’ve already escaped your world. Please don’t disturb my life again, consider it my plea—”
She was already exhausted; she didn’t want to experience that pain again.
Jiang Mujin’s gaze deepened, and he said solemnly: “Come back to Kyoto with me; Yuyu needs to go to school.”
At his words, Huo Ziyan froze, looking at her obedient daughter.
Yes, Yuyu had reached the age for school; she couldn’t deprive her of the right to an education.
Kyoto
The Jiang Family
“What did you say?”
The elegant lady on the sofa immediately lost her composure upon hearing her son’s words.
“Mom, I want to marry Yanyan.”
“I don’t agree!”
“Whether you agree or not, I will only marry Huo Ziyan in this lifetime.” Jiang Mujin’s gaze darkened as he spoke in a deep voice.
“Jiang Mujin, without my consent, she can forget about stepping into the Jiang family’s door!”
“Then we’ll sever our mother-son relationship!” Jiang Mujin said calmly.
“You—”
“For a woman—”
“Mujin!” A displeased voice came from upstairs.
Jiang Mujin looked up and called softly: “Dad—”
“How can you speak to your mother like that?”
“I’ve made up my mind and won’t change it.”
“I absolutely won’t agree!”
“Wen Ya!” Jiang Yichuan chided lightly.
With that, he said: “Mujin, come to the study with me.”
“Yes, Dad.”
In the study, Jiang Mujin stood by silently, not speaking.
Jiang Yichuan sighed lightly: “It’s really her?”
“Yes.” Jiang Mujin finally raised his head and said seriously.
“But back then—”
“Dad, did you see it with your own eyes? No, you only heard about it, right?”
“And her first time was with me—”
Jiang Yichuan was stunned: “You two—”
“Yes, I was angry at the time, but I never doubted her feelings for me. But when I woke up, she had disappeared.”
“Then you mean you found her?”
Jiang Mujin suddenly smiled lightly: “Found her, and there’s also a lovely daughter.”
Jiang Yichuan was shocked: “Yours?”
“Mine.”
“Let me digest this for a moment—” Jiang Yichuan sat down in a chair, needing time to process.
“Is it really yours?” Jiang Yichuan asked again.
Jiang Mujin chuckled: “Dad, if you don’t believe me, I can let you see.”
“See where? Right now?”
“Here.” Jiang Mujin took out his phone, opened the photo album, and enlarged a photo to hand to Jiang Yichuan.
The moment Jiang Yichuan saw the photo, his pupils constricted, and he excitedly said: “It’s true! It’s a perfect replica of you!”
“I recognized her at first glance; there’s no need for a paternity test.”
“Where are they? I want to see them.”
“Just wait a bit; I’ll arrange for Yuyu to start school.”
“Yuyu—”
“My granddaughter is named Yuyu?”
“Yes.”
When Jiang Yichuan went downstairs, Wen Ya sensed that Jiang Yichuan was very excited.
She looked at him in confusion: “Yichuan? What’s wrong with you?”
Jiang Yichuan’s eyes were sparkling: “It’s nothing, nothing. I’m just very happy.”
She glanced at her son: “What did you say to your father?”
Jiang Mujin shrugged and spread his hands: “I didn’t say anything.”
“I still have business at the company, so I’ll leave first.”
“Go on, go on, make it quick.” Jiang Yichuan instructed.
“Got it, Dad.”
After Jiang Mujin left, Wen Ya couldn’t help but ask: “Yichuan, what’s going on? What’s making you so happy?”
“Wen Ya, Mujin’s marriage is his own decision, and you’re not allowed to interfere anymore.” Jiang Yichuan said in a deep voice.
“No way!” Wen Ya’s expression changed.
Jiang Yichuan remained unfazed: “If you don’t want to lose your only son, listen to me and stop interfering.”
“Why? Yichuan, you didn’t say that before!”
She couldn’t understand how her husband had changed his mind in such a short time.
“People have to learn to adapt.” After all, there was already a child involved; stopping it was impossible.
Wen Ya could hardly believe that Jiang Yichuan had become so accommodating.
The sunlight poured onto the ground like a piece of golden satin, warm and charming.
Qu Wanwan was recovering well. Mumu mentioned that the gallery had been very busy lately.
So she asked Fu Ciyu to take her to the gallery.
As soon as they arrived at the gallery, they saw it bustling with people.
Mumu looked anxious and, upon seeing her, quickly spoke: “Sister Wan, I’m going crazy. Everyone wants Master Fu’s portrait!”
Fu Ciyu raised an eyebrow: “My portrait?”
“Master Fu—”
“Master Fu!”
“Oh my! It’s Master Fu!”
“Oh my! I see the real person!”
“Don’t crowd me; I want to take a photo!”
“Move aside, I want to see the real person!”
