Chapter 127: The Shock of Su Gang and Others (Part 1/2)
“When will Uncle Su arrive?” Tang Feng changed the subject.
“I don’t know,” Su Xiaoli shook her head, saying, “I called him this morning, but no one answered.”
“He might already be on his way. Are you going to class this morning?” Tang Feng asked.
“No. I’ve arranged to go with Teacher Li to give an academic presentation this morning,” Su Xiaoli answered.
“In that case, will you be able to answer the phone if Uncle Su calls?” Tang Feng was a bit worried.
“I’ll call him again in a bit and tell him to contact you directly. I’ll talk to him after I’m done with my things,” Su Xiaoli answered.
“That works. Oh, and when you see Teacher Li, don’t forget to ask her to help find a reliable HR director. The company is about to be established, and recruitment needs to be on the agenda,” Tang Feng reminded her.
“I know. Don’t worry! I’ll definitely take care of it!” Su Xiaoli promised confidently.
After finishing their meal, Su Xiaoli called her father.
Soon, the call was connected.
“Dad, have you set off yet?” Su Xiaoli asked.
“I’m already on the way. I expect to arrive around ten,” Su Gang answered.
“Ah? What time did you leave?” Su Xiaoli was visibly startled.
“Before four. Not just me, but also your Uncle Tang and his wife. They haven’t seen you for a while, so they decided to come over and visit,” Su Gang responded.
“Drive safely on the way! I’m going to be with my teacher for an academic presentation, so I won’t be able to answer the phone. After you arrive, just call Tang Feng,” Su Xiaoli said.
“Okay! Go ahead with your work. We’ll talk when we meet!” Su Gang ended the call after saying this.
“Brother Feng, Uncle Tang and his wife are also coming to Jingcheng with my dad,” Su Xiaoli said.
“Is that so? That’s really great! Since the start of school, we haven’t been able to go home. This meeting is a good opportunity to catch up,” Tang Feng appeared very happy.
“They will contact you once they arrive at Jingcheng University. You can send me a message, and I’ll check it after I’m done,” Su Xiaoli instructed.
“Alright,” Tang Feng nodded.
Then, Tang Feng took Su Xiaoli to the Economics Department building.
Afterward, he went back to the villa and busied himself for a while.
He wrote six pieces of calligraphy and painted three paintings.
He planned to find a time to sell these artworks to raise funds for investing in the new company.
He was very clear that the money he had on hand, plus what Su Gang was investing, was only a drop in the bucket for the company.
After all, the chat software was free, and it wouldn’t generate any revenue in the short term.
Plus, with Tencent as a competitor, it was unclear how much money would need to be spent initially.
He had to gather enough funds.
When he was almost done, he received a call from Su Gang.
“Little Feng, we’ve arrived at Jingcheng University. Where are you?” Su Gang asked.
“I’m out handling some things. Wait for me at the school gate for a bit,” Tang Feng answered.
“Okay.”
Tang Feng quickly got ready and then headed to the school’s south gate.
Tang Long and his wife were overjoyed to see their son.
“Dad, Mom!” Tang Feng also hurried forward to greet them.
“Didn’t you participate in military training? Why do I feel like your complexion hasn’t changed?” Tang Feng’s Mother asked while examining him.
“I didn’t participate in military training,” Tang Feng answered.
“I thought so.”
“Little Feng, where is Xiaoli? Should we go pick her up?” Su Gang asked.
“She’s at the Economics Department. I’ll take you there.”
Then, Su Gang drove to the Economics Department building.
After a while, Su Xiaoli and Professor Li Ping walked out.
“Xiaoli!” Su Gang called out eagerly when he saw his precious daughter.
“Dad!” Su Xiaoli, hearing her father’s voice, was very happy.
“Xiaoli, I’ve noted what you told me. I’ll make a call later to see if there’s a suitable candidate,” Professor Li Ping said with a smile.
“Thank you, Teacher Li!”
“No need to be so formal with me! Wait for my call!” After saying this, Professor Li Ping left.
Su Xiaoli hurriedly got into the car.
She also promptly greeted Tang Long and his wife.
“What would you like to eat for lunch?” Su Gang asked.
“Uncle Su, I’ve already booked a private room at the Royal Holiday Hotel. We can just go there,” Tang Feng answered.
“Royal Holiday Hotel? If I remember correctly, that’s a five-star hotel, isn’t it?” Su Gang appeared somewhat surprised.
“Yes,” Tang Feng nodded, saying, “I know the chef there, so I asked him to reserve a private room for us.”
“Little Feng, I know you have money now. But even with money, we need to be frugal. We can just find a nearby restaurant to eat,” Su Gang advised.
“It’s just a meal; it won’t cost much. Let’s go,” Tang Feng said with a smile.
Su Gang started the car.
Before long, they arrived at the Royal Holiday Hotel.
Tang Feng led them into the hotel lobby.
“Master Tang!” The lobby manager saw him and hurried forward to greet him.
“I called Chef Chen earlier to ask him to reserve a private room for us,” Tang Feng said.
“I know! He’s reminded me several times! I’ll take you there!” The lobby manager said and led the way.
Soon, they arrived at the reserved private room.
“Master Tang, would you like to order yourself, or shall we let Chef Chen decide?” the lobby manager asked.
“Let him decide,” Tang Feng answered.
“Alright!” The lobby manager nodded and left.
Tang Feng invited everyone to sit down.
“Dad, Uncle Su, what would you like to drink?” Tang Feng asked.
“We’ll just have some tea,” Tang Long responded.
“Not having alcohol?” Tang Feng was surprised.
“We still have to go back this afternoon. Drinking would delay things,” Su Gang answered.
“Really? You’ve come all this way; you should at least stay for the night before leaving!” Tang Feng urged, upon hearing this.
“We have things to do at home. Tomorrow we have a friend’s child’s wedding to attend,” Tang Long answered.
“A wedding?” Tang Feng was visibly taken aback.
“Yes! His child is only two years older than you guys and is already getting ready to get married and have children,” Tang Feng’s Mother said, glancing at Su Xiaoli subconsciously.
“That’s because they didn’t go to university, right? If they did, even if they were just two years older than us, they couldn’t possibly be getting married,” Su Xiaoli said.
“Yes,” Su Gang nodded, saying, “His daughter graduated from a vocational school and has been working for two years. She met her husband while working.”
