Chapter 38: Teasing Her

The private room door opened, and a waiter pushed in a food cart. Fu Changqing withdrew his hand, calmly picking up his teacup. Lu Yunshang’s heart, however, wouldn’t settle. What had he just done? Was he pitying her, or teasing her?

During dinner, Fu Changqing occasionally served her meat, but each time he also served Master Bai a piece. Lu Yunshang wondered if she was being delusional.

After dinner, Fu Changqing arranged for a car to take Master Bai back to the suburbs. He made an appointment with Liu Jingting and Lu Yunshang to sign the contract the next day, instructing Secretary Liu to prepare the contract and the non-disclosure agreement for the acquisition of the Lu family’s company.

Liu Jingting and Lu Yunshang drove back to the company. Colleagues flooded the lobby to congratulate Lu Yunshang, vying to become her apprentice. They also urged Liu Jingting to treat them to karaoke.

Liu Jingting, in a good mood, readily agreed to a gathering at Blue Bay that night.

Lu Yunshang called Tang Tang to share the good news and asked her to reserve a private room with a discount. Tang Tang, thrilled about the successful bid, immediately called the manager to reserve a room. Hearing that it was for Fu Group’s partners, the manager immediately offered a 40% discount.

The entire afternoon, everyone surrounded Lu Yunshang with questions. At 5:30 PM, Liu Jingting treated everyone to dinner at Laomeizi downstairs. Then they drove to Blue Bay.

Upon arrival, Tang Tang and the manager greeted them. The manager handed Lu Yunshang his business card, saying respectfully, “Mr. Fu instructed that he’s treating tonight. Please enjoy yourselves, Miss Lu, and your colleagues. Let us know if you need anything.”

Lu Yunshang was surprised. “Thank you. We appreciate it.”

“Not at all, not at all,” the manager led the group upstairs.

Tang Tang stayed beside Lu Yunshang. “Mr. Fu told the manager to let me stay with you tonight; no need to go to other rooms. Mr. Fu is so thoughtful and considerate. Yunshang, you should grab this good man!”

Lu Yunshang nudged Tang Tang. “Don’t talk nonsense.”

Entering the private room, Lu Yunshang found the decor luxurious. She turned to Tang Tang, “Did we go to the wrong place?”

The manager saw her doubt. “Miss Lu, you’re not mistaken. This is Mr. Fu’s instruction.”

Tang Tang patted Lu Yunshang’s shoulder. “This is the most luxurious and largest private room in the club. I rarely get to serve here. I’m honored to be here with you today. Have fun!”

The manager had everyone sit down. Servers brought in an abundance of fruit, snacks, appetizers, beer, red wine, and spirits, filling the coffee tables.

Liu Jingting was dumbfounded. He poked Lu Yunshang. “Yunshang, shouldn’t we call Mr. Fu to thank him?”

Lu Yunshang frowned. “You mean I should call?”

“Yes, he prepared all this for you.”

Lu Yunshang took out her phone and dialed, but the call was disconnected after two rings. Feeling a little disappointed, she texted Fu Changqing: Thank you, Mr. Fu, for arranging the private room and food.

Putting her phone down, she drank with her colleagues but remained distracted, occasionally glancing at her phone.

After a few glasses of spirits, Liu Jingting started to let loose, singing and goofing around with Xiao Ke. Lu Yunshang wanted to find earplugs.

About an hour later, the private room door opened. Everyone looked towards the entrance. Lu Yunshang’s heart leaped into her throat.

Huang Siyuan poked his head in, grinning at Lu Yunshang. Fu Hanzhou and Su Qiyi followed. The three walked towards Lu Yunshang, causing the female colleagues to scream, “Wow, handsome guys!”

A female colleague asked Lu Yunshang, “Sister Yunshang, are these handsome guys here to serve us?”

Lu Yunshang chuckled.

Tang Tang laughed so hard she couldn’t straighten up. “You three are being treated like male escorts!”

Fu Hanzhou scowled, Su Qiyi shook his head and smiled.

Huang Siyuan squatted beside Tang Tang. “How about I serve you tonight?”

Tang Tang kicked him. “Get lost.”

Fu Hanzhou and Su Qiyi sat on the sofa beside Lu Yunshang. Su Qiyi poured himself a drink and toasted Lu Yunshang. “Congratulations on winning the bid, Miss Lu.”

Lu Yunshang clinked glasses with him. “How did you know we were here?”

“We’re in the next room. The manager told us,” Su Qiyi said. “Our supercar club is having an event in a couple of days. We’re going for a drive in the mountains. Miss Lu, are you free to join us?”

Lu Yunshang shook her head. “I don’t have a sports car.”

“That’s easy. I’ll arrange one for you. Choose any car from our garage. Consider it a way to relax. You’ve been busy with the bidding for so long; you need to unwind,” Su Qiyi said.

Lu Yunshang smiled. “Okay, I’ll let you know.”

Fu Hanzhou suddenly raised his glass to Lu Yunshang. “Congratulations.”

Lu Yunshang glanced at him. “Thank you.”

Fu Hanzhou withdrew his hand and downed his drink.

Huang Siyuan also came over to toast Lu Yunshang. “Miss Lu—no, I still prefer calling you Master Chiyo. Please take care of me in the future. I’ve joined Fu Group and asked my cousin to let me learn from this project.”

Lu Yunshang clinked glasses with him. “Then please take care of me, Mr. Huang.”

“My pleasure! You wouldn’t believe it, but the photo of us together is the most liked post on my Moments. The comments are exploding! They’re all envious and waiting for the pre-sale of the new perfume,” Huang Siyuan said proudly.

Su Qiyi patted Huang Siyuan’s shoulder. “I didn’t expect you to be so serious. I thought you only went to work to appease your mother.”

Fu Hanzhou scoffed. “He’ll only be enthusiastic for a couple of days.”

“I’m serious!” Huang Siyuan patted his chest. “I’ve thought about it. It’s time to think about my future. I can’t rely on my mom forever. I want to be financially independent.”

Tang Tang rolled her eyes. “Yeah, right.”

Huang Siyuan didn’t get angry. “Hey, Tang Tang, just wait. I’ll make you all look at me differently.”

“Having aspirations is good. No matter the outcome, you won’t regret putting in the effort,” Lu Yunshang raised her glass. “Here’s to you, Huang Siyuan, Mr. Huang. Good luck.”

Su Qiyi also raised his glass. “Cheers!”

Huang Siyuan downed his drink. “Let’s play Truth or Dare. We’ll roll the dice. Whoever gets the lowest number loses, and the others can choose truth or dare.”

“Okay!” Su Qiyi was the first to agree. “I won’t lose.”

Lu Yunshang agreed. “I’ll go first. Give me the dice.”

After rolling, Fu Hanzhou had the lowest number.

Huang Siyuan grinned. “I choose truth. I want to ask Hanzhou a question: Who was your first kiss?”

Fu Hanzhou’s face flushed red. After a long pause, he mumbled, “No one.”

Lu Yunshang was stunned.

Huang Siyuan pushed Fu Hanzhou. “Don’t lie! You have a child, and you say you’ve never kissed anyone?”

Fu Hanzhou snapped, “No one! Why would I lie? Do you think I’m like you?”

A phone rang. Everyone looked at Fu Hanzhou, who realized it was his phone. He took it out. Seeing Xiao Nianzhen’s name, he felt annoyed and left to answer the call.

Lu Yunshang took a sip of her drink, casually glanced at her phone, and paused. She had a new message. It was from Fu Changqing. Her heart fluttered. She took a deep breath and opened it.

Fu Changqing: Come to the top floor to find me.
