Chapter 136: Your Technique is Really Bad

Nobody was perfect, and it was impossible for the always gentle Ling Jue to not have any distorted parts.

Ye Wenxin did not know what she should say to comfort Ling Jue. She could only quietly stay by her side.

The spring breeze blew, bringing with it a slight chill. Ye Wenxin instinctively wanted to rub her neck and then felt pain.

The pain gave Ye Wenxin a stronger impression compared to Ling Jue’s words earlier. She had stifled it for too long, and ultimately chose to use a forceful way to vent.

“Big Sister Ling, it’s getting late. We should go rest.” Ye Wenxin turned to Ling Jue, reminding her.

“I’m not sleepy. You go back to sleep first.” Ling Jue glanced at Ye Wenxin, still hugging her knees. Her clothes were almost dry, but just by looking at Ling Jue’s figure, she still appeared fragile.

Ye Wenxin thought for a moment and then sat back down beside Ling Jue, picking up a nearby stone to toss across the water. One after another, as she just quietly accompanied Ling Jue.

The two sat by the lake for a while. Ling Jue eventually regained her usual gentleness, took a deep breath, and apologized to Ye Wenxin, “I’m sorry, I lost control tonight.”

Ye Wenxin wanted to say that it was human nature, yet Ling Jue was quicker to add.

“However, I won’t give up.”

Ye Wenxin forcibly held back what she wanted to say and gloomily continued tossing stones, pondering how to politely refuse Ling Jue.

All the plans were listed, and ultimately, Ye Wenxin rejected them one by one.

This night was too long, endless, and even a little hard to bear.

“Big Sister Ling, if I told you I’m not a good person and that I infiltrated the Azure Wings Sect with a goal, what would you do?” After another moment of thought, Ye Wenxin planned to lay her cards on the table.

“I know. After all, I came to the Azure Wings Sect with a goal too.” Ling Jue’s refined brows furrowed. She saw that Ye Wenxin had hardened her heart to refuse, but she remained unwilling to relinquish that final hope.

“I’m…actually from the demon sects.” Ye Wenxin added without any wickedness, aware that Ling Jue had no favorable impression on members of the demon sects.

“I don’t care about that,” said Ling Jue decisively, after a brief hesitation.

“Then what if I have a special identity?” Ye Wenxin had to resort to her ultimate move.

“I won’t care either. The only thing I care about is the way you, Ye Wenxin, look at me.” Ye Wenxin interrupted Ye Wenxin’s argument, her voice trembling slightly, afraid of disastrous words coming out of Ye Wenxin’s mouth.

“What if I’m your Medicine King Valley’s foe?” Ye Wenxin ignored Ling Jue’s determination, those seemingly indolent eyes turning serious, looking directly at Ling Jue.

Ye Wenxin even purposely unleashed her aura, wanting to make Ling Jue give up on her feelings.

In her opinion, Ling Jue’s so-called ‘like’ was merely a fleeting distraction, not true love at all.

“Yes, even if you’re my foe, I, Ling Jue, am only set on you in this lifetime.” Ling Jue said word by word, the stubbornness in those eyes frightening Ye Wenxin.

Ye Wenxin sighed. In fact, she was truly a foe of Medicine King Valley—no, she should say, an enemy of every immortal sect. But Ling Jue had reached this point, so how could Ye Wenxin shake up her thoughts?

“How about this? Let’s make a bet: if you become Medicine King Valley’s Valley Master as a woman in the future, I’ll give you a chance.” In the end, Ye Wenxin could only use this move to motivate Ling Jue.

It would be a very long process, and Ye Wenxin had faith that when Ling Jue actualized it, she would have long forgotten about her number one person.

“Don’t think I don’t know what this idea of yours is.”

A breeze drifted by. Ye Wenxin lightly smiled upon hearing this. She helped Ling Jue neaten her messy strands and continued asking, “Then do you dare to accept?”

Ling Jue’s eyes firmed. “Naturally. This is what I originally wanted to do. I want the whole world to acknowledge my identity and everything that I am, including my feelings for you.”

In a trance, Ye Wenxin seemed to see her best friend’s silhouette. She remembered her best friend had also said bold, visionary words in the past, and now she had truly become the Eldest Princess who held power over the court through the Emperor.

Maybe new miracles would appear in this male-dominated place.

Ye Wenxin was a little absorbed in her thoughts for a while, and then heard Ling Jue reveal her true name very solemnly. “My true name is Ling Zi. Remember it well, Little Sister Wenxin.”

Ye Wenxin could not help but enunciate it. “Ling Zi, absolute eminence (Ling Jue) in bearing (Zi); a good name. I’ve engraved it in my mind.”

Ling Jue smiled softly, looking expectantly at Ye Wenxin, waiting for Ye Wenxin’s confession.

“Ye Wenxin is indeed my true name. As for my other name, I’ll tell you when you’ve really succeeded.” In the end, Ye Wenxin did not dare to voice out ‘Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng’. Perhaps she was a little coward too.

Even though she was a boss villain, she wanted to try living an easy and comfortable life.

Ling Jue did not inquire further. She just stared at Ye Wenxin, who had stopped talking again.

Ye Wenxin sensed a bit of foreboding and saw Ling Jue flashing a smile at her, tenderly stroking her hair.

“The formal agreement has been discussed. Can I exercise some rights in advance?”

“The agreement hasn’t been fulfilled yet. There aren’t any rights to speak of.” Ye Wenxin’s scalp tingled as she found herself once again pressed into a corner, while Ling Jue smiled, enclosing her in a circle.

That smile was still so gentle, yet it carried a certain threatening meaning.

“Of course there is. You need to prove that you will keep your word.”

Ye Wenxin, embarrassed, forced out a weak smile. “I need…to prove this?”

“Kiss me.” With that, Ling Jue clumsily moved in to kiss her, with a hint of impatience that could not be suppressed.

Ye Wenxin did not refuse, but in her mind, she wondered who was kissing whom.

As their lips and tongues intertwined in a battle, Ling Jue’s smile became even gentler, while Ye Wenxin felt a bit dizzy from the kiss. It was not because of Ling Jue’s kissing technique, but because she did not really know how to kiss, resulting in several moments where she almost could not catch her breath.

Seeing Ye Wenxin in such a panicked state, Ling Jue’s mood finally improved. She could not help but tease Ye Wenxin about her poor kissing skills.

“Little Sister Wenxin, your technique is really bad.”

Ye Wenxin’s face turned crimson from the teasing. As a person in her fifties, being mocked by a young woman made her feel very embarrassed.

“Let’s try again,” Ye Wenxin said, somewhat unwilling to be mocked by Ling Jue like this, and intended to refine her own skills.

Ling Jue smiled and agreed, taking the initiative to hold Ye Wenxin by the neck as they continued their clumsy practice.

If someone happened to pass by at this moment, they would see two women live broadcasting the amusing scene of pecking each other like chickens—clumsy yet incredibly alluring.

But it must be said that once accustomed to it, Ye Wenxin found it very comfortable.

Unlike Liu Churan’s aggressive purpose, Ling Jue’s lips were gentle, carrying an irresistible charm.

Perhaps it was because her partner was Ling Jue, or perhaps because she had become like Ling Jue; on the endless road to immortality, she had inadvertently developed a bit of a man’s heart.

Ling Jue did not continue. She just held Ye Wenxin tighter. In truth, her heart desired more of Ye Wenxin, but she did not want to make things difficult for her.

But after feeling Ye Wenxin’s response, Ling Jue finally gained some confidence.

“Little Sister Wenxin, you actually like me, don’t you?”

Ye Wenxin pondered it briefly, but she could not quite understand her emotions at this moment. She naturally had a fondness for Ling Jue, but it was not strong enough to do anything for her or to change her standing.

It only stayed as a fondness.

After thinking for a while, Ye Wenxin honestly replied, “I don’t know, so I can’t give you an answer right now.”

Her expression was very confused, no less than Ling Jue’s confusion at that moment.

In terms of emotions, Ye Wenxin was like a blank sheet of parchment.

“Then think carefully. If you’re asked to kiss Fairy Fengya, Long Qing’er, Huang Hanyan, or Gu Xiangsi, who would you choose?”

Ling Jue held Ye Wenxin in her arms, pressing her for an answer.

“Huang Hanyan, I guess,” Ye Wenxin answered.

“What if you add me to that group?” Ling Jue was somewhat baffled.

“It’s still Huang Hanyan,” Ye Wenxin replied.

“Why… Why do you choose Huang Hanyan?” Ling Jue was somewhat jealous, but she suppressed her annoyance and continued to question.

“Because Huang Hanyan is the easiest to bully.”

“…”

Thinking about Ye Wenxin’s answer, Ling Jue was flabbergasted.

Indeed, Huang Hanyan had the weakest background among them all, but upon closer examination, it seemed that Gu Xiangsi did not have any background either.

“Why not choose Gu Xiangsi?”

“She has bad sleeping habits.” Ye Wenxin firmly refused, recalling the nights she had been tormented by Gu Xiangsi.

If she truly wanted to find a life partner, Ye Wenxin absolutely would not allow it to be anyone that would disturb her last bit of peace in bed.

Ling Jue increasingly felt that it was not her own emotional expression that was the problem, but rather Ye Wenxin’s thought process.

Considering Ye Wenxin in front of her was only fourteen years old, Ling Jue could only gently guide her. “What if none of us had these backgrounds? Who would you want to spend your life with?”

“Fairy Fengya.”

“You…” Even Ling Jue, who had a good temper, was almost driven crazy at this point. But she still restrained her urge to get angry and continued to ask for the reason, “Why choose Fairy Fengya?”

Ye Wenxin answered without hesitation this time, “She talks less and is not prone to quarrel.”

Ling Jue wanted to maintain her seriousness, but upon hearing Ye Wenxin’s description, laughter escaped her.

“Little Sister Wenxin, with this thinking, you’re really going to end up alone.” She found Ye Wenxin both adorable and exasperating, feeling that Ye Wenxin did not have a thorough enough understanding of the word ‘love’.

It could even be said that Ye Wenxin did not understand what love was at all.

Seeing Ye Wenxin’s lack of concern about ending up alone, Ling Jue was quite worried. Even if she fulfilled the agreement, if Ye Wenxin still did not have any romantic feelings at that time, what should she do?

After some thought, Ling Jue continued to ask, “Then, Little Sister Wenxin, what do you think love is?”

“It’s spending a lifetime together with another person,” Ye Wenxin answered again, but this time, she sounded a bit impatient.

After answering so many questions, Ye Wenxin also realized the one emotion she was lacking. Where was her love? Why was she unable to develop feelings for anyone?

Ye Wenxin became agitated, feeling her blood pressure rising again, almost unable to restrain the surge of Qi and blood, a sign of falling into Qi Deviation.

Realizing the situation was not good, Ye Wenxin hurriedly opened her bag of holding and swallowed a Heart-cleansing Pill, feeling much better afterwards.

Author had something to say:

1. I think harem is very difficult to write, difficult because love is unique as well as selfish, so lately I’ve been writing very carefully. I can’t make Ye Wenxin look like too much of a jerk.

2. Because I’m useless when it comes to fights, and I have poor writing, I can only emphasize on psychological descriptions.

3. As for Ye Wenxin, my original intention was to shape her into the image of a straight woman, who later goes further and further down the rainbow road. Ling Jue is a stepping stone, and soon, Ye Wenxin will realize the beauty of girls (amused expression)

Me trying to make Wenxin’s comment about Ling Jue’s true name understandable in English: (Stare blankly at screen for three minutes) “This is harder than a freaking puzzle game.” Anyway, last update for this week. Enjoy.
