Chapter 8
Wu Yunting frowned. He had also heard about this matter. He didn’t expect that the person he had always admired would sacrifice himself like this. It felt unreal.
“Grandpa, tell me when she’s arriving, and I’ll find time to go over.”
“It seems that there is a person in my team who is somewhat related to her. He seems to be the son of Doctor Mo’s father.”
Wu Shanhai suddenly remembered something and sighed, “Yun Ting is an unlucky kid. Something happened in his family. I guess an order will be issued in a few days and his promotion will be suppressed.”
Wu Yunting pounded his fist on the table: “Why? Not only is he highly educated, but he also works very hard on missions, so why is he being suppressed for promotion?
He was pushed last time, and it happened again this time. It’s so chilling that Grandpa is like this.”
Wu Shanhai said sternly: “Yun Ting, you must remember that the organization will never forget anyone, and there are reasons for this.”
The two chatted for a few minutes and then hung up. Wu Yunting felt very sad, as it was obvious that someone was framing him.
As soon as Feng Qian and Mo Yao died, they started cutting off his network of relationships. The Pei family was just practicing medicine, so who did Chinese medicine offend?
He returned to the team and looked at Pei Haiyang, not knowing how to say it.
Pei Haiyang is not a child. When he saw the captain’s expression, he knew that the call was related to him.
He walked over quickly and whispered, “Captain, is there something wrong with my family? All the letters I wrote have gone unanswered. Tell me the truth, and I can accept it.”
Wu Yunting patted his shoulder and said, “Your father’s apprentice sister Mo Yao is dead, your family has been reported, and we don’t know where she is now.
Your promotion has been suppressed, but your mission will continue. I will continue to find out where they have been assigned and have someone take care of them.”
Pei Haiyang’s guess came to an end, and his body softened a little: “How could it be, Aunt Mo Yao is involved in both Chinese and Western medicine, there is no second person in the whole of Kyoto, how could she die, where is my uncle!”
“He’s dead too.”
Pei Haiyang held his arm tightly, “Then where is my sister Mo Yan? She is only 16 years old and just graduated from high school this year. She must be very scared to be alone.
She is usually very timid and doesn’t like to interact with outsiders. How can she survive alone?”
“Can I take a leave and go back? I have to make arrangements for her. Captain, please help me. She is just a little girl. What will she do in Kyoto alone?”
Wu Yunting looked at his teammates behind him and said, “Qiao Yuan, take them away for training.”
He pulled Pei Haiyang to sit next to him. Since they couldn’t train like this now, he might as well explain it to him clearly.
“She has moved out of the family compound and lives at home. She will go to the black market in a few days, and we can take care of her.
There are some things now that you and I cannot control, so we can only stand still. Do you understand?
Life is the most important thing. You should keep your distance from her. If anyone asks you, you should say that she is just a junior and you have nothing to communicate with. Do you understand?”
Pei Haiyang knew that the current situation was turbulent, and he comforted himself in his heart that as long as he was alive, it would be fine, because only by living would he have a chance to redress his wrongdoing.
He doesn’t mind getting promoted in a few years. Compared to his family, these things are nothing.
“Okay, Captain, thank you, I will control myself.”
“I will not participate in the recent mission. I will wait until the organization’s investigation is completed. I will obey orders.”
Wu Yunting breathed a sigh of relief. Pei Haiyang was his right-hand man and military advisor. He absolutely could not waver because of this matter. It would be too dangerous to go on a mission like this.
Every mission of their special forces is to write a suicide note, and their military achievements are all a history of blood and tears.
He admired and respected Feng Qian, and had hoped that Black Fox would defeat the Black Wolf team one day, but it seemed that there was no chance.
This made him more cautious in future missions. He didn’t believe that there was no trick in this mission. Even if his grandfather didn’t tell him, he could guess it.
He had seen such methods before, and they were very dirty.
Therefore, he never trusted anyone completely and always remained cautious. Even if he was unconscious, he would not dare to faint.
Kyoto, late at night
Feng Moyan had a casual meal, then entered the space in the dead of night, silently reciting the direction in his mind, and headed straight to the center of Kyoto.
The areas nearby were where princes and nobles lived in the past, which shows how luxurious this courtyard is.
Since it was her first time here, she changed several addresses before she found the exact location. She didn’t observe it for long and went straight to the secret room.
Who would have thought that in such a large courtyard, a secret room would be hidden in an inconspicuous warehouse? This was where the servants lived in the past.
After knocking on the wall a few times, I saw a stone on the floor move and the entrance was only wide enough for one person to enter and exit.
She tentatively turned on the light and threw a stone in, only feeling relieved when she found no hidden weapon.
She doesn’t want to lose her life because of this little thing. She can create more wealth on her own.
As soon as I landed, I felt that I wanted to go left. No wonder people like to confiscate people’s homes in this era. Once discovered, I would be rich and would have more money than I can spend in several lifetimes.
Feng Moyan opened the boxes that were closest to him. They were all filled with precious jade, jade wares, gold, silver, and jewelry. There were even a few boxes of silver dollars. It seemed that these were accumulated over different years.
Put them all into the space and take a closer look at them later when you have time.
Just after I cleaned up the traces behind and was about to leave, I heard rustling sounds nearby.
After her body was cleansed, her strength recovered to 80%. With weapons, ordinary men could not take her seriously at all.
It’s already eleven o’clock, why are there still people hanging around outside? They must be up to no good.
She entered the space and sneaked closer to the place where they were chatting. It was a courtyard house with three entrances, but it was a bit shabby and it seemed that no one lived here.
The two men murmured, “Boss, we intercepted this batch of goods with great difficulty, and now we have also looted some of them, are we going to give them all to that man?”
The other man had a big mole on his face, which even had hair on it, which made people feel sick. He looked at the box on the ground with greed in his eyes.
“What do you know? Once this thing is accepted by the director of the Revolutionary Committee, we will be able to enjoy the good life and there will be even more things in the future.”
“Don’t be a woman with long hair and short vision. If you are timid and afraid of things, don’t follow me in the future. I don’t need a brother like you.”
The man seemed to have made up his mind. “Okay, brother trusts you, I’ll do it with you. Let’s hide it first and give it to the director tomorrow.”
“But I heard that he likes women the most. Should we…”
The two men’s sinister looks proved that none of this was a good thing.
After the two left, Feng Moyan opened it and took a look. These were all cultural relics that appeared in later generations. Where did this person get them from? Could it be stolen?
Everything was taken away, nothing was left.
I have nothing to do anyway, so I might as well find out who the director of the Revolutionary Committee is tomorrow night.
