With a swift motion, Xu Wanting and Xu Xuehui’s faces turned pale, their expressions aghast.
Their eyes widened in disbelief.
Xu Mo finished speaking without even glancing at them, then turned and left.
He had other things to attend to. He had already applied for the second stage of the driving test and needed to practice driving. If all went well, he should be able to get his driver’s license in about two weeks.
“The ‘Shared bike’ project has already begun to take off. As one of the founders of this project, once it takes off, it will generate a significant scale effect and cause a huge response in society.
So Xu Mo has great confidence in the success of financing. He plans to do at least three rounds of financing. When the company reaches a certain scale, it can be sold as a whole.
By then, how much money his team can get depends on their abilities.
Xu Mo is confident and only wants to operate the term ‘Shared’.
As for Xu Wanting and Xu Xuehui, he couldn’t care less.
Although they seem to be crying as if they are heartbroken now, Xu Mo knows very well that if he turns back, he might end up with nothing left.”
In the Xu family, not all problems were caused by Xu Junzhe. In fact, the bigger issue was Xie Bingyan and a few sisters, with Xu Junzhe just being one of the instigators.
Last time, when he was poisoned to death, several sisters and Xie Bingyan were responsible for at least half of it.
If it weren’t for their negligence, Xu Junzhe wouldn’t have dared to poison him!
Especially Xie Bingyan and the third sister, Xu Manni, bear the most responsibility!
Now, pretending to be innocent and acting like white lotuses is pointless. Xu Mo is used to seeing their true colors, so he doesn’t mince words.
And Xu Mo’s point is valid; that milk was indeed brought home by Xu Wanting and was indeed offered to him by Xu Xuehui.
As for poisoning him inside…
Xu Mo couldn’t gather any evidence, let alone them?
Xu Junzhe had already evaded all surveillance. At that time, the power was out at home, and his actions were meticulous and cautious, ensuring that no one could catch him red-handed.
So, Xu Wanting coming to inquire now is meaningless.
Furthermore, even if this matter were to cause a stir in the Xu family, Xu Mo didn’t believe that Xie Bingyan and Xu Deming would stand on his side.
That’s what’s most chilling about it all!
Even if it were to come to light, with Xu Mo’s health still intact and no serious illness acquired, the likelihood of Xie Bingyan suppressing the matter and not allowing others to speak out is high.
So, Xu Wanting and Xu Xuehui coming to investigate is just a joke.
In the past, Xu Mo might have placed some hope in them, but now, he feels nothing but despair!
It’s best to keep away from them now and focus on developing his own career. Xu Mo is already too lazy to care about the Xu family!
Xu Mo quickly headed to the company to meet up with Tang Lei and the others, then they all went to the driving school together.
The company’s development is going well, and all four of them are quite excited.
The number of users is continuously increasing today, with more than five hundred users already registered. They are eagerly awaiting further promotion, which will attract even more users.
Xu Mo is already in discussions with Phoenix Bike about ordering the fourth and fifth batches of bikes, consisting of fifty thousand and one hundred thousand bikes respectively. Once these bikes are in place, they can be deployed everywhere!
“Xu Mo, it’s time to make money!”
“Yes! It’s time to make money!”
Watching Tang Lei and the others get excited, Xu Mo smiled, casting aside all the unpleasantness.
…
Xu Wanting and Xu Xuehui didn’t know how they found themselves back in the car.
Dazed and disheartened, they sat in their seats, trying to make sense of it all.
Xu Wanting recalled that a few months ago, she did indeed bring home a carton of milk, which was a gift from a customer. Unable to finish it, she left it in the refrigerator.
As for Xu Xuehui’s involvement, she wasn’t quite sure.
Xu Wanting turned to look at Xu Xuehui, who had lost all color in her face, trembling from head to toe. Xu Mo’s words must have pierced her heart.
“My second sister teaches music at Xiahai University!”
“What an accomplished second sister!”
…
Xu Xuehui hugged her legs, curled up in her seat.
The expired milk, indeed, was the one she allowed Xu Mo to drink.
And she did smile mischievously as she let him have it!
Xu Wanting looked at her expression, already having a good idea of what was going on.
She didn’t feel like talking anymore. After sitting quietly for a while, planning to head home first, Xu Wanting was surprised to find herself implicated while trying to investigate others.
After a brief rest and emotional adjustment, Xu Wanting started the car.
“Big sister, you’re back?”
Seeing her sedan parked in the space, Xu Manni suddenly walked over to greet her.
Xu Wanting nodded and headed towards the living room. There, she saw Xie Bingyan and Xu Junzhe, among others, watching TV and chatting leisurely.
In front of them were arranged numerous refreshments, snacks, as well as the latest phones and toys.
This was probably Xie Bingyan celebrating Xu Junzhe’s success in the college entrance examination and giving him presents.
Especially the Apple phone, the latest model, available in three colors.
Xie Bingyan’s affection for her adopted son had already become ingrained, even among her sisters, none of whom had received such lavish treatment.
Now Xu Wanting only felt a chill in her heart.
“Mom, do you know your biological son is being poisoned?”
“He’s being poisoned!”
Xie Bingyan and Xu Deming probably had no idea that Xu Mo was being poisoned. If Xu Shuying hadn’t gone to check the medical records, she wouldn’t have known either.
Perhaps among the entire family, only Xu Mo was fully aware that he was being poisoned.
Suddenly Xu Wanting understood where Xu Mo’s despair was coming from; he had been deeply despondent all along.
“Xuehui, I need to find out who is poisoning him. From what I see now, Manni is the prime suspect.” With a nod to Xie Bingyan, Xu Wanting led Xu Xuehui back to their room.
Xu Xuehui’s eyes reddened as she whispered, “Xu Mo said it was us!”
“Maybe it was us, but then again, it wasn’t! My milk wasn’t poisoned. Even if it was expired, it wouldn’t be toxic! Xu Mo was just speaking out of anger!” Xu Wanting quickly regained her composure. “Of course, you bear some responsibility for giving him expired milk.”
Hearing this, Xu Xuehui felt even more despondent, sensing the weight of her guilt.
“Manni hates Xu Mo the most. She has tried to kick him out of the house several times! She even hid his phone, preventing him from contacting the family. At that time, Xu Mo was in the scenic area, walking alone on the highway at night, covering more than ten kilometers!”
Recalling this, Xu Wanting felt a pang in her heart. “Manni has done more than just that. There are many other things!”
Xu Xuehui sniffled.
“And the fourth, Xu Pandi, is no different. Apologizing to a dog isn’t the only thing. I remember Xu Mo being bitten by the dog once, and the fourth instead of worrying, was equally furious! She’s also a prime suspect!”
Xu Xuehui felt nothing but sadness, unable to forgive herself.
Xu Wanting continued her analysis. “Mom, and Dad, are also suspects. Especially Mom, she has punished Xu Mo many times, sometimes with confinement, sometimes with standing, and sometimes with a ruler. Although they say a tiger won’t eat its cub, Mom’s reactions are abnormal!”
Xu Xuehui glanced at her and said, “Before, when Xu Mo went missing, Mom almost went crazy. It was only when Junzhe was brought back that Mom calmed down!”
“Oh?” Xu Wanting was taken aback. “But Mom liked Junzhe at first sight, and she returned to normalcy then. Over the years, she’s been much more indulgent towards Junzhe than us! I think Mom’s behavior is very abnormal, after all, Xu Mo is her biological son!”
“It’s us! Xu Mo said it’s us who wanted to poison him!” Xu Xuehui suddenly burst into tears. “He admired his Second Elder Sister, and she wanted to poison him…”
Xu Wanting, upon seeing this, felt a chill run through her entire body!
