What Childhood Sweetheart? The Abstinent Powerholder Is Irresistibly Flirtatious Chapter 7

Chapter 7: She Doesn’t Need It

When Shen Chun saw the arriving security personnel, her heart, which had been suspended, didn’t quite settle. She nervously tugged at Wen Jiu’s sleeve.

“Thank you, but I can handle the rest on my own. After all, I was the one who acted. You should leave,” Shen Chun said, returning the sunglasses to Wen Jiu.

It was at this moment that Shen Chun finally realized that the beautiful girl in front of her had probably removed her sunglasses to make it easier to take action. She couldn’t help but admire her to the fullest.

As someone with a tear-sensitive constitution, Shen Chun could not control her tears whenever her emotions were stirred, no matter the time or place.

So, for someone like Wen Jiu, who could remain calm and tear into someone without leaving a single wound, Shen Chun truly admired her.

But it was just admiration. Wen Jiu had acted out of righteousness, and Shen Chun couldn’t pull her into this mess. If it caused her to be delayed from her own important matters, it would only make Shen Chun feel even more guilty.

At the same time, in the nearby VIP lounge, several pairs of eyes were observing the situation.

A boy with brightly dyed wine-red hair closed his mouth, which had fallen open in surprise, and commented, “This girl has quite the sharp tongue.”

“She’s really sharp, but there’s bound to be some trouble ahead,” another boy sitting on the sofa raised his eyes to glance at Wen Jiu, then nodded in agreement.

At Gangcheng Airport, a confrontation like this wasn’t huge, but it wasn’t exactly trivial either.

If the man who had been struck kept pestering her, he would probably have to spend a few days at the station.

“Yan Ge?” The boy with the wine-red hair looked at the man sitting in the middle of the sofa and grinned, his voice full of playful curiosity.

“Going for the hero saving the beauty act?”

Hearing this, Jiang Yanci’s long, clear eyes flickered with a smile before he shook his head.

“She doesn’t need it.”

“Huh??” Qi Qin furrowed his brows, about to say something, when he saw the girl in the distance making a phone call. Shortly after, the head of the security team spoke into his walkie-talkie, said something, and then respectfully gestured toward the girl, inviting her to move along.

After Wen Jiu and the others left, the man who had been kneeling on the ground in pain was dragged away.

“Yan Ge?” Qi Qin couldn’t hide his surprise. How did Yan Ge know that the beautiful girl wouldn’t be in trouble?

Ning Wang glanced at Qi Qin’s dumbfounded expression, thought for a moment, then said, “The girl was escorted out by the airline staff when she got off the plane.”

From their position, they had a clear view of how the girl disembarked.

The fact that she was given such attention by the airline staff didn’t just mean she had money—it likely indicated she had another status.

But, they hadn’t known beforehand that such a person had come to Gangcheng.

Ning Wang asked Jiang Yanci, “Yan Ge, do we need to send someone to investigate?”

When the topic turned to business, Ning Wang’s tone became serious.

Jiang Yanci shook his head, “No need.”

Since they hadn’t known in advance, it might just be that she was here for tourism or something. If they investigated, they might end up offending her.

So, there was no need.

Seeing that it was almost time, Qi Qin and the others headed toward the boarding gate.

Outside the airport

Wen Jiu helplessly looked at the girl who was still closely following her. “Is there something else?”

Shen Chun shook her head, then quickly nodded when she saw Wen Jiu frown, her sparkling eyes filled with admiration.

“Can I treat you to a meal?”

“Sure.” Wen Jiu was also feeling hungry, but noticing the girl’s accent wasn’t from Gangcheng, she asked:

“Are you familiar with Gangcheng?”

Shen Chun replied, “Kind of. I study here and have been to quite a few places.”

“Is that so?” Wen Jiu relaxed and smiled. “Then let’s find a place to eat, I’m hungry.”

“Okay, I’ll get a taxi right away.” Shen Chun quickly nodded, and when they reached the roadside, she added, “My surname is Shen, Shen Chun. ‘Chun’ as in ‘rich’ or ‘smooth’.”

Wen Jiu nodded. “Nice to meet you, Wen Jiu.”

Wen Jiu… It’s so interesting that a girl’s name has ‘Jiu’ (wine) in it, but Wen Jiu… it has a certain feeling to it.

She smiled. “You’re really impressive. I’ve never won an argument in my life. I just want to cry the moment I open my mouth. It’s really good that you’re here today.”

“Funny.” Wen Jiu curled her lips. “I’ve never lost an argument.”

Wen Jiu had always had a fiery temper since she was little. Though her temper had mellowed over time, she was still not someone who would tolerate things in silence.

Shen Chun’s admiration for her grew even more. She asked, “Are you still studying?”

Wen Jiu replied, “I’ll graduate from university in May.”

“Then you’re a little older than me.” Shen Chun smiled, and when the taxi stopped, she quickly moved forward and opened the door. “Wen Jiu, please.”

“Thank you.” Wen Jiu didn’t dislike Shen Chun’s personality. Plus, since she had just helped the girl, she was willing to be more patient.

Inside the car, Shen Chun quickly added Wen Jiu’s contact information. She noticed that Wen Jiu’s phone had been ringing constantly, but she ignored it. Though she was curious, she didn’t ask anything and instead started talking about interesting things in Gangcheng.

When it came to topics Shen Chun liked, she became more excited.

“Wen Jiu, when you’re in Gangcheng, besides going to the harbor to see the sunset, you absolutely have to visit Shiban Street. It’s the most popular spot among locals. There’s endless food, drinks, and things to do, especially the bar at the end of the street. There are so many handsome guys inside.”

Wen Jiu listened to Shen Chun’s excited introduction, mentally noting the places that interested her, occasionally chiming in with a response.

The driver in the front occasionally chimed in with a few words.

Outside the window, it was the time of sunset, with the golden, warm sunlight bathing everything, creating just the right amount of warmth.

After they got out of the car and entered the restaurant, Shen Chun looked around before lowering her voice to speak to Wen Jiu.

“In Gangcheng, Wen Jiu, there’s only one thing you need to be careful about.”

Her tone was serious, which made Wen Jiu more intrigued. She asked, “What?”

Shen Chun replied, “If you encounter any wealthy people with the surname Jiang while you’re out and about, try not to provoke them.”

From the earlier events, Shen Chun could tell that Wen Jiu’s identity wasn’t simple, but a strong dragon couldn’t suppress a local snake. There were times when it was important to be discreet.

The surname Jiang in Gangcheng often referred to the influential Jiang family, the real power behind the Shijing Group, one of the dominant forces in Gangcheng.

Although Wen Jiu wasn’t very familiar with the local affairs, she understood this point well.

She smiled, “Don’t worry, I’ll be careful.”

Hearing this, Shen Chun finally relaxed.

The two of them enjoyed a pleasant meal, and Shen Chun rushed to settle the bill, making sure to leave just in time to avoid the school’s curfew before saying goodbye to Wen Jiu.

Bathed in the retro neon lights of the street, Wen Jiu stood in the bustling area, feeling the cool breeze, which made her shiver slightly.

At the end of April in Gangcheng, the temperature difference between morning and evening was still quite large. Wen Jiu was only wearing a long-sleeved thin T-shirt, and the wind made her feel fully awake.

She looked around but didn’t find a suitable hotel, so she called a taxi and asked the driver to take her to one.

By the time she checked in at the hotel, it was already 8 PM.

Looking at her phone, which had drained quickly due to the frequent calls, Wen Jiu frowned in annoyance. She plugged it in to charge and then called Wen Sheng back.

It was already late overseas, and she wasn’t sure if Wen Sheng and the others had gone to bed.

As soon as the call was connected, a refined and deep voice immediately came from the other end.

“Jiu Jiu, have you arrived?”
