Chapter 19
Currently, the security devices used by several major families are all based on the core technology from Yun Chi, developed many years ago.
Since the arrest and imprisonment of Yun Chi, although these devices are still in use, there have been hardly any incidents.
The devices haven’t been dismantled because Yun Chi’s technology is reliable. Moreover, the current four small families, especially today’s host, the Huang family, have always been cautious.
So even though they knew Yun Chi was dead, they didn’t shut down the device. It just kept running, providing some peace of mind.
But who would have known, before this year’s Star Nebula Summit even began, the security device that had been silent for several years suddenly emitted a loud alarm.
The core technology of this device is particularly dominant. Once it issues a high-level alert, it forcibly notifies all systems in the galaxy.
So within less than fifteen minutes of the alarm sounding, everyone involved in this summit, including those preparing to execute fugitives and even all members of the host Huang family, became aware of it.
The planet where the Interstellar Academy landed originally didn’t belong to the main star of the galaxy. But now, within just fifteen minutes, all the important figures had gathered together.
Qin Chu Yue sat down at the entrance of the Star Nebula Summit, casually choosing a store selling nutritional fluids. She ordered one in banana flavor.
Just as she had taken a sip, she looked up and saw Huang Peilan, the current head of the Huang family, had arrived.
Qin Chu Yue: “…you’re still ruthless.”
Looking across the entire galaxy, probably there wouldn’t be a second person who would make a machine report on themselves.
Ji Fu, surrounded by the layers of Huang family and Alliance guards, blinked. After the fifth search of her body yielded nothing, she innocently said, “I really didn’t bring anything.”
The people who stopped her were already sweating profusely, but indeed, they didn’t find any dangerous items on her. After searching for a long time, they only found various snacks and beverages.
After Huang Peilan arrived and heard the report from the people below, even she couldn’t help but furrow her brows.
In theory, this device has been around for so many years without any errors. It’s unlikely to falsely accuse a young girl like her.
But indeed, there’s nothing on her.
“Is she a student of the Interstellar Academy?” Huang Peilan asked.
The teacher leading the group from the academy quickly responded, “Yes, she’s a new student of this year, recently enrolled.”
“There must be some misunderstanding in between.”
The girl, heavily surrounded, had striking silver-white hair and exceptionally good looks.
…For some reason, Huang Peilan was sure she hadn’t seen her before, yet looking at this person, there was always a strange sense of familiarity.
She saw the security guard searching Ji Fu again and removing her earphones.
“Bring it to me, let me see.” The secretary handed her the earphones.
Among the four small families, the Huang family’s foundation lies in mech warfare, and Huang Peilan herself is an S-level mech warrior.
She took the earphones used by Ji Fu and carefully examined them, finding them to be ordinary earphones for calls and music.
She activated her neural computer and connected to Ji Fu’s earphones, dialing back according to her previous call records.
As soon as the call connected, she heard a man on the other end say in a deep voice, “Hey? Darling.”
Huang Peilan: …
She directly ended the call and coldly said to the people nearby, “There’s no problem, it must have been a machine malfunction.”
The person standing beside her was Yan Cheng, a key member of the Alliance responsible for executing fugitives these days.
Ji Fu wasn’t familiar with Yan Cheng, but she recognized Huang Peilan.
Seeing Huang Peilan’s attitude towards Yan Cheng, she raised an eyebrow lightly.
Yan Cheng didn’t respond to Huang Peilan’s words. He just walked a few steps to Ji Fu and extended his hand towards her, saying in a relatively gentle tone, “Due to the recent fugitive incidents, the searches have been stricter. Sorry for the misunderstanding.”
Ji Fu remained composed and shook his hand lightly, “Captain is too polite.”
Huang Peilan stood nearby, watching Yan Cheng’s demeanor. She sneered, “Let’s go.”
He was just a minor member of the Alliance, pretending to be important because of orders from above.
The Star Nebula event was rare, and she was busy herself.
Huang Peilan soon left with the Huang family’s people, and Yan Cheng, after exchanging a few words with the leading teacher, left the area.
Once Ji Fu’s identity was confirmed, their attitudes were normal, and nothing seemed amiss.
After Ji Fu put her earphones back on, Qin Chu Yue’s first words were, “Are you sure it was him?”
From the way Huang Peilan had just left, it seemed like he wasn’t the one in charge of executing fugitives.
There were only two people involved, if not Huang Peilan, then it had to be someone else.
“I wasn’t sure before.” Ji Fu replied calmly as she collected her belongings. The light on her right wrist’s neural computer flickered slightly. “But he marked me.”
Qin Chu Yue was momentarily surprised. “When you shook hands with him just now?”
Ji Fu nodded lightly.
A neural computer mark.
It was a rather sophisticated method, able to mark a person briefly during a handshake.
But compared to this…
“I thought they would use some method to screen the criminals.” Ji Fu smirked coldly, not expecting their methods to be so direct and rough.
Marking suspicious individuals directly, it seemed like they intended to catch everyone in one go.
It made sense. Compared to painstakingly investigating, those who thought highly of themselves preferred this method.
But to directly commit murder in such a big event indicated that the extraction of talents and the matter involved extremely high-level secrets, possibly even core interests.
That’s why they were so reckless.
Ji Fu’s thoughts were correct.
As soon as Yan Cheng left the security checkpoint, watching Huang Peilan boarding the starship with her people, the person beside him stepped forward and asked in a low voice, “Should we send someone to follow that student?”
“Yes.” Yan Cheng’s expression was cold, his eyes full of indifference. “She’s from the Interstellar Academy and will attend the summit tomorrow. Let the people in the summit handle her directly.”
“Understood.”
Recalling the orders given by his superiors, Yan Cheng said coldly, “Remember, anyone marked, even if it’s a mistake, must be eliminated.”
Once the matter of the drug and the extraction of talents leaked out, the situation would be beyond control.
In comparison, a few deaths at the summit wouldn’t make much of a difference.
With billions of people in the interstellar, there were deaths every day. One more or less wouldn’t matter.
Meanwhile, Ji Fu finished packing her things and passed through the security checkpoint again. The large machine didn’t emit the terrifying alarm it did before.
She was stopped outside, while the rest of Class A had already gone to the lounge arranged by the organizers.
As she walked towards the lounge, she heard Qin Chu Yue’s cold voice, “I scanned with electromagnetic waves. In just this morning, there have been over a dozen places with electromagnetic disturbances.”
“They intend to kill everyone?” Qin Chu Yue sneered coldly. “I knew these people from the Alliance lacked humanity, but I never thought they would stoop this low.”
“From the looks of it, this matter of extracting talents is quite significant.” She paused for a moment, knowing Ji Fu was listening, then continued, “Will they take action tonight?”
The summit begins tomorrow, and everyone will stay in the lounge tonight.
“They won’t.” Ji Fu’s voice was calm. “If they act now, they’ll alert the prey. They’ll wait until the summit starts.”
And also…
“The Star Nebula Summit has no surveillance devices.” Influenced by the Star Nebula phenomenon, alien creatures and plants have become violent. Every time the Star Nebula appears, there are accidental deaths.
Plus, under the electromagnetic influence of the Star Nebula phenomenon, surveillance devices malfunction.
If she were Yan Cheng, she would definitely choose that moment to act.
“Not everyone marked is attending the Star Nebula Summit, so there’s likely a wave outside and a wave inside,” Qin Chu Yue said seriously. “Be careful when you go in tomorrow.”
“If your body can’t handle it, try to stay close to Zhou Lu Hai,” Qin Chu Yue had confidence in her, only worrying about her physical condition.
“Zhou Lu Hai?” Ji Fu raised her gaze and happened to see the person smoking outside the lounge.
Zhou Lu Hai’s eyes hid in the smoke, looking at her through the hazy mist.
“Yes,” Qin Chu Yue gave a definite answer. “I heard his talent far surpasses S-level.”
But she didn’t know the specifics, only that he had hidden abilities to some extent.
Ji Fu recalled the talent assessment when they were freshmen. Both he and Wan Feng only showed as A+, but everyone in Class A knew they were at least S-level.
“He’s back,” Zhou Lu Hai extinguished the cigarette, his deep eyes falling on her. “What happened with the security device?”
It was only then that Qin Chu Yue reacted, realizing that Ji Fu had actually encountered the real main character.
She heard Ji Fu say, “I don’t know.”
Not knowing my foot.
She was the one who provided the core technology for that machine, and she activated the high-level alarm herself.
Zhou Lu Hai didn’t ask further, but instead locked eyes with her. “Will you accompany me tomorrow?”
After entering the Interstellar Academy, this was the first time he had invited someone himself.
Unexpectedly, the person in front of him paused subtly for a moment and asked him, “Are you feeling unwell?”
Zhou Lu Hai: …
Ji Fu held her bag full of snacks. “Otherwise, why would I go with a pharmacist?”
Qin Chu Yue almost burst out laughing.
Alright, alright, no wonder she’s their precious little one.
“It’s not as a pharmacist that I’m inviting you,” Zhou Lu Hai said seriously. “I want to invite you as my mechanic.”
Currently, there’s only one mech warrior in Class A, Liu Can, whom he looked down upon.
Unlike school exams, there were no restrictions on mechs at the Star Nebula Summit.
Zhou Lu Hai brought an S-level mech this time.
He didn’t plan to let a half-hearted mech warrior climb into his mech.
Plus, he was curious about Ji Fu’s actual skill level.
During the freshman assessment, she was still F-level, but the mechanical dog she took out was at least C-level or higher.
Unlike mechs, machines didn’t have clear grading standards.
But Zhou Lu Hai, coming from a prominent family, naturally understood how much of an advantage advanced machinery could provide in battle.
“In that case, I apologize.” Ji Fu chuckled lightly. “It’s not my area of expertise.”
She walked past Zhou Lu Hai and into the lounge.
“Tsk tsk, I heard this young master from the Zhou family has a bad temper. He came to invite you personally, and you declined,” Qin Chu Yue teased with a smile. “I won’t tell Wei Lan.”
Ji Fu didn’t take her words to heart, and Qin Chu Yue was just speaking casually.
The lounge arranged by the Huang family was shared by four people. Ji Fu lived with Jiang Wei and Wan Die.
Before entering the lounge, they instinctively turned off their phones in sync.
As Ji Fu had predicted, nothing happened that night.
The next morning, the Star Nebula Summit began.
Everyone attending the summit wore special neural computers provided by the Huang family.
These neural computers had an emergency distress button for timely rescue by Huang Peilan in case of accidents.
“There’s another function…” Jiang Wei whispered to Ji Fu, “This thing is also used to track how much material you take inside.”
Otherwise, with the onset of the Star Nebula phenomenon, surveillance equipment failure meant the Huang family wouldn’t know how much material people took inside.
Ji Fu neither confirmed nor denied it, just fastening the special neural computer to her hoodie strap.
There were no specific requirements on how to wear it, as long as it was carried.
Once the summit started, removing the special neural computer was equivalent to forfeiting, and the Huang family would directly escort the person out.
Yan Cheng stood on the high platform at the entrance, looking down coldly.
He activated his neural computer, and what floated before his eyes weren’t individuals entering the summit area but flashing red markers.
He watched those markers follow the flow of people, entering G-730, then lifted his head lightly.
With just a glance, he met a pair of eyes.
Ji Fu stood not far away, staring straight at him.
Seeing her gaze meet his, her eyes didn’t waver in the slightest; she even smiled at him.
Yan Cheng subtly furrowed his brows.
He pressed the neural computer and directly informed the person already hidden inside: “Keep an eye on the female student from the Interstellar Academy. When she enters, find an opportunity and deal with her first.”
“Understood.”
The people tasked with dealing with the targets were all well-trained A-level mech soldiers.
Yesterday
, when Ji Fu was stopped at the gate for inspection, he had looked at her information. She was just a lowly civilian with minimal talent.
In the hands of an A-level mech soldier, unable to control a mech, she wouldn’t last five minutes.
When Yan Cheng lifted his eyes again, Ji Fu was already out of sight.
She followed the others from Class A and entered the main venue of the Star Nebula Summit.
Under the Star Nebula phenomenon, the sky here resembled a beautiful and brilliant cotton candy, with clouds stacked and light shining everywhere.
For a moment, it felt like stepping into a fairyland.
But upon truly entering, one realized the magnificent sky was but a dream.
Just as they entered the venue, someone let out a piercing scream.
Just three minutes had passed when someone fell victim to an alien plant attack, their mecha shattered, and they withdrew from the summit.
The incident occurred too quickly, causing heightened tension among the members of Special Class A.
All sorts of people were attending the summit, but many of them couldn’t even handle their mechas properly, appearing rather inexperienced.
Fortunately, Zhou Lu Hai and Wan Feng were present.
Upon entering the venue, Zhou Lu Hai deployed his own mecha, Deep Sea.
With its deep blue body, white wings, and equipped with high-powered cannons and flight systems.
Sun Yiming glanced at it for a moment, unable to close his mouth in astonishment. “S-class mecha…”
Their backgrounds truly were extraordinary.
He struggled even with basic C-class combat armor, whereas Zhou Lu Hai could effortlessly pilot an S-class mecha.
Beside him, Wan Feng’s gaze was equally profound.
His family couldn’t compare to the Zhou family; however, he had a mech technician customize an S-class combat armor specifically for him.
Wan Feng was using an ordinary A-class combat armor.
Just by stature alone, he was shorter than Deep Sea and lacked wings and a flight system.
But when he maneuvered the mecha and grasped the photon sword, he exuded a formidable presence.
With the appearance of these two mechas, many of those who arrived at the venue with them concealed their own ulterior motives.
They especially feared Deep Sea, almost avoiding their group altogether.
Wan Die climbed into Wan Feng’s mecha.
Liu Can glanced deeply at Deep Sea.
He had attempted to join Zhou Lu Hai several times before coming here but was rejected each time.
Guessing that he might be excluded by Zhou Lu Hai today, he recruited a senior A-class mecha trooper from the school forum.
Though the mecha the trooper used couldn’t compare to Zhou Lu Hai and Wan Feng’s, it should suffice for this summit.
The mecha trooper was already prepared and waiting for him to join.
However, Liu Can hesitated. He was curious. In Special Class A, he was the only mecha pilot. Wan Die belonged to Wan Feng’s team and was only C-class. Moreover, she was Wan Feng’s sister, so she wouldn’t join Zhou’s group.
Zhou Lu Hai’s rejection, did it mean he wanted to control the mecha alone without a mecha pilot?
Or…
His expression darkened as he looked towards Ji Fu.
But this glance was only for his own contemplation.
Almost everyone attending the summit had a mecha at hand.
Even those from ordinary backgrounds used ordinary mechas bought from outside.
Except for Ji Fu and Jiang Wei.
It made sense; one was C-class, and the other F-class.
The F-class was understandable, as they couldn’t pilot mechas.
Although Ji Fu inexplicably rose to C-class, her health was poor, and she hadn’t attended Special Class A, so naturally, she wasn’t qualified to pilot mechas.
But… no one expected the two of them to show up with a go-kart in this situation.
It wasn’t even an advanced off-road kart suitable for mountainous terrain; it was a shabby two-seater kart.
Jiang Wei drove, with Ji Fu beside her.
Before she got in, Jiang Wei earnestly handed over a helmet. “Put this on for safety.”
Everyone present:…
With just the two of them and that shabby vehicle, safety wasn’t guaranteed at all.
Just a couple of miles out, they could encounter an alien beast that would tear them apart.
The problem was, one dared to drive, and the other dared to ride.
Ji Fu tossed her bag aside, put on the pink helmet with two rabbit ears, and sat down.
“Sister Ji,” Wan Die opened the mecha communication channel, “Why don’t you and Sister Jiang come with us?”
Ji Fu waved her hand with a smile. “No need, we’re going to gather herbs. See you later.”
With varying goals and the lack of unity in Special Class A, many people didn’t intend to stick together.
But the two of them, with their low talents and without mechas, were the first to crash the Star Cloud Summit.
After Ji Fu finished speaking, Jiang Wei stepped on the accelerator, and the kart shot off.
Zhou Lu Hai:…
He didn’t hesitate any longer and directly piloted Deep Sea into the air.
The roar of the mecha’s engines drew the attention of everyone around.
This sleek and superior mecha almost instantly soared over the shabby kart on the ground as soon as its wings unfolded.
Looking down from above, Zhou Lu Hai saw Ji Fu pulling out sunglasses from somewhere.
The two of them looked like they were on a leisurely outing, driving slowly on the ground.
After glancing a few times, he directly maneuvered Deep Sea away from the area.
He had no interest in ordinary alien beasts or plants, but he had heard that under the influence of the Star Cloud Phenomenon, occasional A-class alien beasts mutated into S-class. He wanted to test his luck.
What he didn’t know was that as soon as he left, Ji Fu released Flame.
The black mechanical dog sprinted swiftly across the grass, faster than the kart could ever go.
Jiang Wei noticed that the dog’s color seemed deeper, and its movements were smooth, without any hesitation. It even emitted mechanical roars.
…From its appearance alone, this dog was almost indistinguishable from a real one.
When Ji Fu snapped her fingers and calmly said, “Flame, harvest,” a grappling hook suddenly popped out from Flame’s belly.
The hook slammed onto the front of the kart they were driving, locking onto it.
The moment the hook locked, Jiang Wei felt she lost control of the kart.
With the mechanical dog racing ahead, carrying the two of them, and the hook attached behind, they leaped directly into the nearby Iris Field.
This galaxy was named Iris because it was rich in three-star iris flowers.
These were a type of D-class alien plant.
They didn’t attack, didn’t emit radiation, but were highly toxic.
Three-star iris flowers were widely used in potions and occasionally in mecha manufacturing, so they were quite popular on the market, but only mechas could harvest them.
Under the influence of the nebula, the Tri-star Iris flowers clustered together in large patches, emitting a golden-purple glow.
These things have deep roots, so harvesting them isn’t easy. Usually, a large pair of scissors made of refined iron controlled by mechs is used for cutting.
Harvesting isn’t particularly difficult, but it’s laborious.
Ji Fu said that the two of them were going to gather herbs, and Jiang Wei had already prepared for the two of them to spend a day here.
Who knew that her idea of gathering herbs was completely different from Jiang Wei’s understanding.
Her mechanical dog, Yan Yan, pulled the two of them around the iris field, and its hook, sharper than a knife, cut the entire iris field clean in one sweep.
Jiang Wei was dumbfounded. She hesitantly asked Ji Fu, “How much is this worth?”
Ji Fu: “Tens of thousands.”
The Tri-star Iris flowers under the nebula phenomenon have almost C-grade efficacy, and one plant is worth thousands of interstellar coins.
With just one sweep, they got a large area.
Looking at her with admiration, Jiang Wei suddenly understood why Ji Fu wanted her to operate the loader.
Her loader also lived up to its mission, leaving nothing behind wherever it went, even sucking up a few scattered F-grade grasses completely dry.
Their operation left everyone around who had their eyes on the Tri-star Iris flowers stunned.
It was like bandits entering a village, and in a blink of an eye, they had cleaned out the place.
The Tri-star Iris flowers were almost completely harvested, and the people around dispersed.
There were still many exotic plants and beasts in the venue; it didn’t make sense to focus only on one thing.
Treasures were everywhere, and the faster one found them, the better.
So when Jiang Wei snapped out of her excitement, she noticed the eerie silence around her.
In this vast iris field, apart from her and Ji Fu, there was no one else alive.
“Jiang Wei,” Ji Fu suddenly called her name.
“Hmm?”
“The map on the light brain shows that if we keep going forward, we’ll reach the Cloud Forest.” Ji Fu patted the car body, and Yan Yan, which had been running wildly ahead, stopped.
The kart stopped by the roadside, and Ji Fu opened the door and got out of the car.
The moment she got out of the car, Yan Yan also retracted its hook.
“You go ahead to the Cloud Forest and wait for me,” Ji Fu said.
Jiang Wei was slightly stunned. In just this moment, she also sensed the eerie quietness around.
She opened her mouth to call Ji Fu to go together.
But when she looked up, she saw an A-grade yellow mech appear within her field of view.
Jiang Wei relaxed a bit.
A yellow mech represented the Huang family, the organizer.
Perhaps their harvesting speed of the Tri-star Iris flowers was too fast, causing some suspicion on the other side, hence they came to investigate.
“Go ahead,” Jiang Wei nodded lightly. After confirming that the yellow mech was indeed marked with the Huang family’s emblem, she followed Ji Fu’s instructions and drove the kart towards the direction of the Cloud Forest.
The yellow mech stopped not far away, not really waiting for Jiang Wei to leave.
But to identify the mark on Ji Fu’s body.
[X-7 Interstellar Academy, Ji Fu, target confirmed, preparing to terminate]
Not far away, as the yellow mech quickly approached, Ji Fu didn’t even move.
Her behavior seemed normal.
People attending the summit probably wouldn’t be suspicious of mechs marked by the organizers.
…Even if the speed at which this mech was accelerating had exceeded the normal speed.
The person controlling the mech didn’t think much.
The data showed that the target was only a C-grade, in terms of talent level, the probability of successfully assassinating someone like An Zaiyang was low.
But since orders had been given from above, what they had to do was simply follow those orders.
The A-grade mech focused its energy, and as it approached Ji Fu, it raised a huge fist.
Made of high-density steel plates, under concentrated energy, one blow could knock Ji Fu out cold.
This blow was meant to be fatal.
But unexpectedly, when the fist approached Ji Fu’s head, it was abruptly halted.
Bang!
Under the force of the concentrated energy, the rebound made a huge noise, shaking the cockpit of the mech.
She’s not dead.
The person controlling the mech’s face changed slightly, looking down.
But what they saw wasn’t the tragic sight of Ji Fu, nor could they see what had stopped the mech’s iron fist.
The person inside the mech cabin’s expression changed drastically; they only saw a black cannonball flying out.
Sizzle! Snap!
The head of the A-grade mech was directly blasted off by the cannonball.
Under the powerful blast, the mech flipped backward, revealing Ji Fu underneath.
Ji Fu stood there, holding a completely black high-speed rotating heavy cannon in her hand.
She hadn’t been idle during this time.
After reaching C-grade, she could slightly use some of her talents, although she could only use them sparingly each day, and her recovery was relatively slow.
She slowly modified Yan Yan.
Although it still wasn’t completely successful, compared to before, she added a very important function, an attack device.
Coupled with internal storage of high-firepower ammunition, it was enough to instantly crush a B-grade mech.
A-grade hadn’t been tested yet; there weren’t any in An Zaiyang’s private storage.
But for now, it seemed to work well.
“Mechanical transformation,” she ignored the A-grade mech that was shaking precariously in front of her and issued the next command.
The heavy cannon in her hand emitted a crisp mechanical sound.
Click-clack, click-clack.
Within three seconds, a complete mechanical arm formed on her right hand.
Previously, this mechanical arm could only cover half of her hand.
But now, not only could it cover accurately, but…
Ji Fu reached out and closed her fingers.
Even with such a simple movement, one could feel the almost surging power of the mechanical arm.
With her current level, tearing apart ordinary battle armor using just the mechanical arm posed no problem.
Bang!
She raised her hand, and despite her own lack of strength, she smashed the mech cockpit in front of her with a single punch.
【Beep, beep, beep】The mech emitted a piercing alarm.
“How are you? Are you okay?” At the same time, Qin Chu Yue also asked her.
When the area around the Iris Flower Field suddenly quieted down, Ji Fu knew the other party couldn’t resist taking action.
“I’m fine.” Her voice was calm, and one couldn’t tell if she was injured or not.
Ji Fu stepped on the wreckage of the A-level mech and took the light brain from the wrist of the unconscious mech soldier.
For mech operators, mechs were equivalent to their lives.
They merged their own talents with the mechs. Once the mech was damaged, they would suffer severe backlash.
That’s why mech soldiers needed mech pilots by their side during battles.
Mech pilots didn’t just repair the mechs but also the bodies of the mech soldiers.
Ji Fu’s actions were too fast and too fierce. Even before the mech soldier lost consciousness, he couldn’t send out any messages.
Meanwhile, outside the Nebula Summit.
Yan Cheng held a glass of champagne in his hand, chatting and laughing with members of several prominent families who came and went. Suddenly, the light brain in his mind emitted a beeping sound.
【Mech No. 3, Mech No. 7, KIA (Killed in Action)】
His expression changed drastically.
The Nebula Summit had only been going on for two and a half hours, and already two A-level mech soldiers had been lost.
The opponent’s methods seemed to exceed his expectations.
He couldn’t care about anything else at the moment. He hastily went to the side, opened the light brain, wanting to check the positions of Mech No. 3 and Mech No. 7 and any internal messages coming out of the summit.
A black screen unfolded in front of him, displaying the layout of the entire summit venue, as well as over a dozen red marks and yellow mech icons.
But before he could fully understand what was displayed, he heard a sudden crackling sound.
Snap!
The screen in front of him instantly disconnected.
【System intrusion detected! System intrusion detected!】
The red alerts popping up on the light brain felt like urgent warnings echoing in his ears.
Forced to do so, Yan Cheng could only cut off the power to the light brain.
“Commander?”
“The other side knows our plan.” Yan Cheng’s expression was extremely grim, his voice cold. “The system has been compromised. Go, inform them one by one. Drop everything they’re doing and go find Mech No. 3 and Mech No. 7.”
“The person who killed An Zaiyang is in these two places.” After a slight pause, he said expressionlessly, “Also, bring all the captured fugitives here.”
The effects came so quickly; it seemed his arrangements were indeed correct.
The opponent’s attack on An Zaiyang that day was indeed aimed at those fugitives, but unfortunately… Qin Chu Yue wasn’t caught.
One of his subordinates hesitated, “Do we move now?”
Yan Cheng sneered, “This person is provoking us so blatantly; it’s time to respond in kind.”
“Inform them, distribute the message. Execution of the fugitives starts now.”
Since the people inside wanted to be heroes, he wanted them to witness each of these fugitives being executed.
He wanted to see if this person would watch these people die or if they would be forced to come out of the venue.
As long as she comes out!
Yan Cheng glanced around.
To ensure the smooth running of this summit, the Huang family had placed two S-level mechs at the entrance.
S was only one level higher than A, but that one level made a world of difference.
An ordinary S-level mech could almost wipe out the vast majority of A-level mechs participating in today’s summit.
“Also, notify No. 1 and No. 2. If they encounter anyone, no matter the situation, kill them on the spot.”
Numbers 1 and 2 inside the venue were A+ mechs, the cream of the crop among A-level mechs.
He had placed them there to prevent any loopholes in his arrangement.
He had thought that no matter what, with the opponent unprepared, an A-level mech would be almost an instant kill.
It seemed this person was more difficult to deal with than he had imagined.
But so far, Yan Cheng’s confidence remained strong. He didn’t think the opponent could escape from the trap he had set.
Huang Peilan observed his performance, frowned lightly, and whispered to the person beside her, “I don’t know what the Alliance sees in Yan Cheng. An A-level strategist, arrogant and conceited.”
She was not pleased with Yan Cheng’s insertion of mech soldiers into the summit, especially using the standard of their Huang family mechs.
“It’s an arrangement from above. All the task orders issued are S-level.” Huang Peilan’s companion paused slightly. “His success in this mission will also benefit us.”
After hearing this, Huang Peilan’s expression improved slightly.
But unexpectedly, Yan Cheng’s methods were indeed dirty.
He had his men detain the fugitives and notified the Imperial Star with a news release.
Almost simultaneously, both Ji Fu inside the summit and Qin Chu Yue outside received the message with the headline “Breaking News: Execution of Fugitives Caught in the Act.”
The first news mentioned the execution time was today, but without specifying the time period. Now, such news suddenly came out.
Qin Chu Yue’s face turned ugly. “He wants to force you out.”
“There are two S-level mechs guarding the entrance outside.”
Qin Chu Yue didn’t say more. Regardless of Yan Cheng’s intentions, using such methods was extremely despicable.
She heard Ji Fu’s increasingly heavy gasps from inside.
Yan Cheng didn’t know how many mechs he had deployed to find her.
Although she had already severed Yan Cheng’s system, preventing him from monitoring the location of the people inside in real-time, Qin Chu Yue couldn’t help but worry.
She was alone in there, almost facing these people who were eager to take her life alone.
Plus, Ji Fu had just recovered not long ago. Even though Yan Yan was by her side, engaging in a war of attrition would still put her at a disadvantage.
In the current summit venue.
The once incredibly dreamy iris flower field was now a mess.
Ji Fu sat at the highest point, breathing heavily. The place where she sat was filled with wreckage of mechs. Sweat covered her forehead, and the cold wind made her shiver.
She pulled the hood of her hoodie over her head.
Sitting amidst the wreckage of the mechs, she looked silently towards the sky.
This was the fifth A-class mech.
The one that had just come seemed to be A+.
She was severely depleted, and after being found by that mech, her arm was injured.
A long scar hung from her left arm, blood dripping down and staining her hand red. Yet, she seemed unaffected, calmly opening a bottle of nutrient solution and drinking slowly.
Her gaze was particularly clear, fixed on the sky.
The magnificent sky, at a certain moment, suddenly seemed to be blown open by the wind.
The cotton candy-like clouds in the sky dispersed in patches, revealing the originally gray-white sky.
The records in the books of the Interstellar Academy about extreme phenomena state that after the nebula phenomenon occurs, it reaches its peak at a certain time period, followed by a huge magnetic field fluctuation.
The electromagnetic disturbance was severe, almost reaching historic highs.
Buzzing.
Beside her, Yan Yan said: [Countdown to magnetic field riot.]
At the same time, Ji Fu jumped down from the high wreckage of the mech.
On the empty space beside it, there were five mech engines.
They were the ones she had just removed from these mechs.
The engines were stacked high, looking particularly spectacular.
The mech engine was the heart of the mech, and also the position where the highest-quality materials were stored.
Ji Fu’s expression was cold as she glanced at the exploding news on her smart brain.
She said in a flat tone, “Are you ready?”
The outside show had been going on for a long time.
Qin Chu Yue also noticed that Yan Cheng’s patience was running out.
He had already instructed someone to load bullets, ready to execute those fugitives.
Qin Chu Yue, wearing a lightweight mech suit, quickly climbed up to the top floor.
As she climbed, she listened to Ji Fu’s voice in her earphones, “Five minutes left.”
The location where Qin Chu Yue was, was upstairs of the shop where she bought nutrient solution yesterday.
She took a deep breath, climbing up almost recklessly.
“Three minutes.”
“Sixty seconds.”
Before the final time arrived, Qin Chu Yue stood by the door of the rooftop.
If she went out now, she would be spotted by the two S-class mechs at the entrance. Once the mechs detected her, she would undoubtedly be dead.
She looked through the side window towards the entrance not far away, the gun already pressed against the fugitive’s forehead.
“Ten seconds.” Finally, Ji Fu announced the number.
At the moment she started counting down, the weather in the entire Star Nebula Summit venue changed drastically. The originally gradually dispersing gray-white sky quickly darkened within a few seconds.
The sky became pitch black, indicating that the magnetic storm was about to strike.
Zhou Lu Hai stopped the mech one minute before the magnetic storm. He simply stood there, silently watching the sky.
He watched as the gray-white sky turned into pitch black.
The dark clouds pressed down on everyone’s heads, without a hint of brightness.
Ji Fu stood up and took a few steps back.
“Three.” She took out a bottle of black potion from the bag she carried.
“Two.” She gently shook the potion bottle. In the jet-black thick ink-like potion, a dazzling and glaring white streak flashed in an instant.
“One.”
Bang!
Boom!
When a streak of extreme brightness crossed the sky, there was a deafening explosion in the Star Nebula Summit venue.
The black potion Ji Fu shattered burst violently on the stack of engines.
Five A-class engines exploded, merging with the violent magnetic storm on the horizon.
Almost instantly, everyone’s smart brains, mechs, and all the machinery they used malfunctioned synchronously, emitting chaotic mechanical sounds.
Ji Fu stood in the center of the magnetic storm, her voice cold, “Kill him.”
The next moment, a gunshot sounded in her earpiece.
On the rooftop not far from the entrance of the Star Nebula Summit, Qin Chu Yue held a black sniper rifle. At the moment Ji Fu began to count down, she kicked open the door to the rooftop and aimed at Yan Cheng in the distance.
“Kill him.” The moment the voice came through, she raised her hand, gripped the gun, and became the focus of countless chaos, aiming at her prey.
Bang!
The sniper rifle aimed at Yan Cheng’s head. Qin Chu Yue exhaled, and with one shot, she blew his head off!
