The use of dungeon materials requested by Fiora.
That was for the memorial monument planned to be built in the church district… More precisely, not just the monument itself, but for the entire planned installation site.
The whole thing started when I casually mentioned wanting to plant flowers around the memorial monument. I don’t think that itself was a strange idea.
After all, in this world too, people place flowers on graves.
However, when that topic came up, Fiora was there with me, and apparently she was inspired by a facility she saw underground. Also, since she had been making nothing but potions recently, it seemed she wanted to try something new.
So, what happened was: the power source for the memorial monument would gather magical essence and supply it to the surrounding area.
Then, on the surrounding land, magical circles would be laid that receive that magical essence to assist plant growth, and furthermore, to maintain a constant temperature around the area.
The former already exists in large-scale facilities, and the latter is used in herb cultivation facilities.
Moreover, apparently, setting those outdoors can also be found in massive facilities like royal castles.
However, that’s a story for the west, where they have the luxury to prioritize aesthetics. In the east, including Mesaria, the resources for systems, including power sources, are allocated not to aesthetics but to defense, so it’s said you hardly see such setups. Fiora said this was her first time making one.
Though the scale is smaller than the systems installed in castles, even for her it was difficult to fit it into that narrow space.
She struggled, revising specifications and redrawing blueprints several times, but apparently resolved it by linking the power source and the magical circles together.
I caught a brief explanation, but it was too technical for me to understand…
From what I caught, by incorporating the power source memorial monument as part of the magical circles, they succeeded in making it compact.
I somehow think it might be an application of those drawings on the ceilings and walls underground.
The performance also seems fine, and Fiora seemed satisfied with the result, unusually talkative.
I thought I might have troubled her with my casual idea… but in the end, it was probably just Fiora enjoying herself as usual.

“Ah, so…”
Once Fiora finished her story, I took the chance to start talking about my own.
Come to think of it, I had come here for this, but I ended up just listening to her story.
Is it her pushiness, or is my push too weak…?
“I was talking a bit with the adventurers returning from the dungeon today, you know? They were curious about what Fiora’s request materials would be used for.”
“Ah… It’s not something often used, after all. Those who hunt around the mid-levels probably have some knowledge, so it’s no wonder they’re curious… But I haven’t really given any strict orders not to talk about it, so they could just ask the staff directly instead of you…”
She looked puzzled.
Fiora was born into a noble family and belonged to the Mage’s Association from a young age, where she remained among the upper ranks.
She’s a bit unfamiliar with the mindset of adventurers or subcontractors.
Still, that’s not a bad thing.
Someone who can support that side should do it.
Usually, it’s probably Zighart, who’s unexpectedly sensible, but he’s not here now…
So, I guess I’ll convey it myself.
“Well… It’s probably just awkward to ask, right? For the people receiving the job to ask too many questions.”
“Is that how it is… Well, alright then. That request is ongoing, so I’ll tell them to add a short explanation.”
“Yeah, yeah. That sounds better.”
Fiora nodded once, then stood and fetched some documents.
She started writing quickly with a pen.
“What’s that?”
“Instructions for the Adventurer Guild. The sooner the better, right?”
“Hmm…”
She’s quick to act.
Impressed by that, before I knew it, Fiora finished writing and called over a staff member who was working nearby, handing over the instructions.
He took it and left the room right away, but… I wonder if interrupting his work was okay.
“Hey, weren’t you busy with something?”
I could have gone myself, though…
“Yes. I had him checking the inventory, and it’s not urgent. So, did you just come to tell me this? Since we’ll see each other at the mansion tonight anyway, it would have been fine then…”
It’s better to be quick, but this could have waited until nighttime.
Besides, after just coming back from outside to the mansion, going all the way here again is unusual for me.
That’s true, but…
“Actually, that’s all. I can’t hunt or enter dungeons lately, so I’m kind of bored. Consider it a change of pace?”
Upon hearing that, Fiora looked briefly caught off guard, but quickly gave a wry smile.
Maybe she found it funny for overthinking.
But that only lasted a few seconds before she returned to her usual expression and spoke.
“Alright… In that case, how about helping with some simple tasks here?”
“Hmm?”
Simple tasks here… you say?
