The Five-and-a-Half-Year-Old Imperial Grandson (Qing Dynasty Transmigration)

Synopsis:

My name is Aixin Jueluo Hong Yan. My father is the Crown Prince, and my mother is the Crown Princess. In history, there is no record of someone like me.

My father had it rough—twice appointed and twice deposed.

My mother had it even worse—she never bore a son in her lifetime.

I thought about it—this won’t do. If my dear father loses his position as heir apparent, as the Firstborn Imperial Grandson, what kind of future awaits me?

So—

In public, I smile demurely; in private, I mind my manners.

Outside, I compete for the Emperor’s favor; at home, I bury myself in books.

But who would’ve thought? My father ended up with the script of a winner in life—

With the Emperor shielding him from the front and his own son cheering him on from behind.

I asked solemnly, “Father, are you the protagonist with a halo over your head?”

Father chuckled. That night, my backside bloomed like a flower.

Very well. It’s time to put the East Palace demolition plan on the agenda.

——

As a blue-blooded imperial descendant and Kangxi’s little darling, Hong Yan was born into boundless favor.

He could strut sideways through the Forbidden City, dressed in brocade and never wanting for food or drink. His only worry was his father Yinreng’s title as Crown Prince—which, years later, would be prefixed with the word “deposed.”

At the age of five, Hong Yan finally uncovered the little secret his grandfather had desperately tried to hide. His only worry? Gone!

Hong Yan immediately drafted a plan to live as a carefree slacker—until a godforsaken system dropped from the sky:

“Ding! The Monthly Ability System is now online! Monthly Abilities may repeat upon acquisition. Final interpretation rights belong solely to the system. Here’s a beginner’s gift pack—choose one of two options:

1. [Good at Confiscating Homes] – Holder: Yinzhen. Duration: One month. Non-transferable. Abilities to be explored independently.

2. [River Management Expert] – Holders: Jifu, Li Guangdi. Duration: One month. Non-transferable. Abilities to be explored independently.”

Hong Yan: ?

Damn it, I’m only five!

Notes:

1. This is an alternate universe! AU! No historical nitpicking! Don’t worry about forced system mechanics—the abilities are all made-up for fun. Take it seriously and you lose.

2. The male lead is a scheming little brat; the female lead is just background decoration.

Review:

To help his father secure the throne, Hongyan competes for imperial favor outside and studies relentlessly at home, only to discover his father is living the golden protagonist’s life. At five, after learning the truth, he gleefully prepares to laze around… until a cheat system descends—[Good at Confiscating Homes]. Let’s rebuild the Qing Dynasty together! With the system, Hongyan inexplicably becomes the Forbidden City’s collective darling, turning all his uncles into allies—transforming the “Nine Dragons Contending for the Throne” into “Nine Dragons Contending for the Imperial Grandson.” The novel’s lively prose and engaging plot deliver constant laughs, with the adorable protagonist and heartwarming family bonds as its greatest highlights.
