Arranged Marriage with a Cold-Faced Military Officer, Three Kids in Two Years, Bringing Prosperity to the Whole Family Chapter 9

Chapter 9 Revenge, She is Your Third Aunt

Faced with the overwhelming evidence, Xu Xiaowei was finally convinced that Wang Huimin had been telling the truth all along. He was thoroughly disappointed in Zhang Chunyan.
“Zhang Chunyan, don’t come looking for me again. You’re on your own now.”
With that, he turned and walked away.

Zhang Chunyan knew then that things between her and Xu Xiaowei were truly over, and she was so angry she nearly went insane.
“No! This is impossible! Why is everyone saying the same thing?! It’s not true!”
“Wang Huimin! It’s you, isn’t it?! You set all of this up!”
“You don’t want to marry Song Fu and would rather marry Song Jianjun. You couldn’t stand that Song Fu liked me, so you did all this to get revenge! You’re so vicious!”

Unable to hold back her fury any longer, she completely lost it and began shouting. In front of everyone, she blurted everything out. Now there was no denying her entanglement with Song Fu.

Li Guiqin rushed over, trying to cover her mouth, but it was too late.

Zhang Yongfa’s face darkened. He raised his hand and slapped Zhang Chunyan hard across the face.
“Shut your filthy mouth, girl! Don’t speak nonsense!”

But even that couldn’t stop the villagers from gossiping. Not a single person had a good word to say about Zhang Chunyan. Even her parents were dragged into the mess. “If they had raised her properly, would any of this have happened?” they whispered.

Not only was Zhang Chunyan’s reputation ruined, but the entire Zhang family would no longer be able to hold their heads high in the village.

Stunned from the slap, Zhang Chunyan burst into tears, feeling utterly wronged.
“Dad, it’s not true… it’s really not like that… it has nothing to do with me…”

Seeing her like this, Wang Huimin couldn’t help but recall her past life—when she too had been forced into a corner like this.

But now, in this life, she had returned everything to Zhang Chunyan. It was revenge, and it felt like justice.

As for the others who had harmed her before, especially the main culprit Wang Huishu—she wouldn’t let them off either. Just not yet.

She gave Song Jianjun’s hand a subtle squeeze, not sure if he’d understand.

Song Jianjun looked at her, seemingly understanding the message. He turned to the Zhang couple.
“Brother Zhang, Sister-in-law Zhang, at this point, I won’t hide it anymore. Chunyan and my nephew Xiao Fu have been seeing each other. I saw it with my own eyes.”
“I didn’t intend to make this public, but since the two young people seem to be fond of each other, I was thinking of bringing a proposal to your family.”
“But things turned out like this. Still, it’s fine. If you have no objections, let’s arrange the wedding soon.”

“You can rest assured, I’ll prepare a separate place for them after marriage. They won’t be living with us. Huimin and I are still young—we can take care of ourselves. Chunyan won’t need to serve her in-laws or take care of Xiaolong and Xiaoxue. We won’t interfere with their life.”

As he said this, facing the increasingly dark expressions of the Zhang family, Song Jianjun remained composed. His words nearly made Wang Huimin smile.

An aunt is still a mother-in-law in the end. Just like that, she’d become the “senior” of the two scumbags. And they’d have to call her “Third Aunt.” That felt incredibly satisfying.

At this point, the Zhang family had no choice but to accept it.

Zhang Yongfa forced himself to say, “Thank you for your kind offer, Brother Song. Things are a bit messy today, and we have some family matters to handle. Let’s talk about the wedding another day.”

Despite his words, it was an indirect admission that he accepted the marriage. Otherwise, his daughter would be left to rot at home, with no one to marry her.

Thinking of what kind of person Song Fu was, Zhang Chunyan felt sick and screamed,
“I won’t! Dad, I’m not marrying Song Fu. He’s a scumbag, a lowlife. Let someone else marry him if they want—I’m not doing it!”

Her shameless outburst in public made Song Jianjun’s expression darken.
“If you think Song Fu is a scumbag and a lowlife, why were you sneaking around with him under the East Bridge? Now you’ve hooked his heart but refuse to be with him—what exactly do you mean by that?”

Watching Chunyan lose control and ruin a perfectly good marriage prospect, Zhang Yongfa was already furious.

He gave her another hard slap, and Chunyan screamed in pain before being caught by Li Guiqin.

Li Guiqin cried as she held her daughter, yelling, “What are you doing?! How could you hit your own child like that?!”

Zhang Yongfa’s face turned purple with rage. He pointed at Li Guiqin, “Look at the daughter you’ve raised—always spouting nonsense! Drag her into the house now before she embarrasses us even more!”

Then, suppressing his anger, he turned back to Song Jianjun and forced himself to calm down.
“Brother Song, Chunyan’s just upset and talking nonsense. Please don’t take it to heart. My wife and I will talk some sense into her. We’ve got things to deal with, so we won’t keep you any longer. Let’s discuss the wedding another day. Everyone, it’s over—go on home.”

With that, he dragged his wife and daughter into the house and shut the door.

The crowd dispersed, though everyone knew they’d have something juicy to gossip about over tea for days to come.

Since Wang Huimin wasn’t married yet, she returned to her parents’ home for the time being.

Song Jianjun went home to explain the situation to Song Fu. He knew once he was called over, he’d be dragged into it and couldn’t stay out of the matter.

He had kept Song Fu at home on purpose to prevent him from ruining things. Though Song Fu had always been a troublemaker, he dared not disobey his third uncle.

When Song Jianjun came back, Song Fu immediately asked,
“Third Uncle, how did it go?”

Song Jianjun thought for a moment before replying,
“Pretty much as expected. The whole village knows now. I’ve already spoken to the Zhang family. We’ll go propose a marriage for you and Zhang Chunyan in a few days.”

Song Fu panicked, “How did it come to this, Uncle? We already gave the bride price to the Wang family. What about that money? Can we get it back?”

Song Jianjun didn’t know how to explain. He hadn’t planned to steal his nephew’s fiancée, but Wang Huimin had been so unwilling, and things had escalated. There was no backing out now.

“There’s no need to get the bride price back. Wang Huimin is going to marry me. We’ll pick a day and have the wedding soon. From now on, she’ll be your third aunt.”

Song Fu looked at him in disbelief.
“What?! Third Aunt?! You’re marrying her?! Uncle, you must be joking!”

But Song Jianjun’s face was serious.
“I’m not joking. Huimin doesn’t want to marry you. She told everyone at the scene that her engagement was with me. If I hadn’t gone along with it, you wouldn’t just lose the marriage—you wouldn’t even be able to marry Zhang Chunyan. And we’d never get the bride price back. People would talk, and we’d be left with nothing.”

Song Fu still couldn’t accept it.
“No… why is she willing to marry you but not me? Uncle, were you two already together behind my back? Have you been lying to me this whole time?”
