Arranged Marriage with a Cold-Faced Military Officer, Three Kids in Two Years, Bringing Prosperity to the Whole Family Chapter 14

Chapter 14 I feel sick just by looking at you

But in just an instant, Wang Huimin realized the money wasn’t actually gone—it had been temporarily stored by the spring. Yes, it was the ability of that mystical spring. She could even now sense exactly where the money was.

Wang Huimin immediately felt a surge of joy. She grabbed a handful of grass, silently chanted in her mind, and tried to store it in the space—but nothing happened. The grass in her hand remained unchanged.

Thinking it over, she then silently wished for the money to return—and just like that, all the money that had disappeared reappeared in her hands.

Alright, she understood now. That space couldn’t store just anything—it could only store money. Quite the mercenary ability. But it solved her biggest problem for now. She wouldn’t have to worry about hiding money at home anymore, and she was extremely grateful for this special power.

Now she could finally relax. Even if Tian Yongmei tore the house down brick by brick, she’d never find the money.

After double-checking the scene to make sure nothing was out of place, Wang Huimin quietly slipped back into her room and soon fell asleep. She even had a lovely dream—she dreamed of growing old with Song Jianjun, surrounded by children and grandchildren.

After drinking the spring water every night for the past few days, Wang Huimin clearly felt more energetic. She woke up feeling refreshed and cheerful, even humming as she cooked breakfast—a clear sign of her good mood.

Meanwhile, her so-called sister Wang Huishu, who was also a daughter of the family, was still on summer break and didn’t have school. She got to sleep in until late morning and eat food already made for her. That kind of special treatment had always existed.

But Wang Huimin didn’t care anymore. After all, there were only two days left—soon enough, it would be their turn to suffer.

After breakfast, as Wang Huimin was clearing the table, Wang Huishu hesitated for a while and finally said, “Xiaomin, I know you’re upset and don’t want to hear from me, but you just went ahead and married Song Jianjun… I heard that he—”

She didn’t get to finish before Wang Huimin shot her a cold glare. “You already know I don’t want to hear it, and you’re still talking? You looking for a slap?”

“I’m married to Song Jianjun now. We’re family. What happens with him has nothing to do with you. If you’ve got nothing serious to say, shut up and stop fluttering around me. Just seeing you makes me sick.”

Wang Huishu’s eyes instantly welled up. She put on that usual pitiful expression. “Xiaomin, why can’t you take a kind word? I was just trying to care about you—what’s with the way you’re talking?”

All the noise quickly drew the attention of Tian Yongmei, who had been smoking in the room. She opened the door and came out.

“What’s going on now? Can’t you all just be quiet for two days? Always fighting and fussing, it’s endless!”

It was clear from her tone that she was blaming Wang Huimin.

But Wang Huimin wasn’t having any of it. She fired right back. “I’m not the one stirring things up. If you want peace and quiet, tell your precious eldest daughter to shut her mouth and stay out of my way.”

“I’m married, I’ve got my in-laws, and you’ve got your bride price. Whether Song Jianjun is good or not, he’s my man now. I want to be with him—what’s it got to do with you people?”

“These last two days, you can’t even let me stay in peace. Took the benefits, then show up pretending to be nice. Cry a few fake tears like it means something—who are you trying to disgust, huh? You people want it both ways. Why don’t you just go to heaven already!”

This time, Wang Huishu was really brought to tears. She clung to Tian Yongmei and sobbed, “Mom, please believe me, I didn’t mean anything bad. I really just wanted to care about Xiaomin.”

“Xiaomin, marrying Song Jianjun was your decision. Mom and I couldn’t stop you even if we tried. Why are you saying all this now?”

“Even if I’m not your real sister, we still grew up together. Don’t you feel anything for me or Mom and Dad?”

Ugh. So when guilt-tripping didn’t work, here came the emotional blackmail.

Wang Huimin still had a spatula in her hand. She stepped toward Wang Huishu, face dark.

“You know full well what you’re really thinking. After what you all did to me—selling me like pork by the pound—you expect me to still feel anything for you people?”

Seeing her approach, Wang Huishu instinctively backed away and hid behind Tian Yongmei, afraid Wang Huimin might just swing that spatula and ruin her face.

Ever since the bride price was paid, Wang Huimin had acted like she was unhinged—no one could predict what she might do anymore. Wang Huishu didn’t dare test it.

Tian Yongmei was also starting to get intimidated by Wang Huimin. She didn’t know what kind of madness had overtaken her but instinctively shielded her favored daughter.

“You damn girl, what are you trying to do?! Your sister just said a few caring words, and you’re ready to hit someone? Calm the hell down already!”

“If you want to stay, then stay for the next few days. If not, just move to the Song house now—you two are already registered. You’re not part of our family anymore!”

“Whether you live or die is someone else’s problem now. If things don’t go well, don’t come crying back here. You brought this on yourself—it wasn’t your dad or me who forced you!”

“And now what? You think you’re queen of the house or something? Stop bullying your sister, or I’ll throw you out this instant!”

Wang Huimin had originally planned to stay a couple more days to be civil, but hearing those words hit the mark. Since the money was already in her hands, why stay any longer? Did they really think she wanted to be here?

“You said it—so I’ll go now. Don’t worry, I won’t ever come looking for you. Just make sure you don’t come looking for me.”

With that, she stopped cleaning the table, turned, and went back to the room to pack.

Truthfully, there wasn’t much to pack—just a few old clothes and some personal items. There was nothing of value the family would’ve given her anyway.

It was sudden, and she didn’t have time to wait for Song Jianjun to come pick her up—but she didn’t care. She could make her own way to the Song house.

Seeing Wang Huimin actually about to leave, Tian Yongmei was fuming. She couldn’t understand what had gotten into Wang Huimin these past couple of days. It was like she’d gone crazy—nobody could control her anymore.

Even though Wang Huishu was secretly thrilled, she still came running out to pretend to be the good guy.

“Mom, don’t be mad. I don’t know what’s gotten into Xiaomin lately—her temper’s been so bad. She didn’t mean it. I’ll go talk to her.”

As she turned to go after Wang Huimin, Tian Yongmei yanked her back and said through gritted teeth:

“Huishu, don’t go! That damn thing’s completely lost her mind—biting whoever she sees. If she’s so eager to throw herself at that man before he even comes to pick her up, let her go! Let her die wherever she wants! From this moment on, I have no daughter like her!”

Wang Huishu’s eyes welled with tears. Clutching Tian Yongmei’s arm, she sobbed, “Mom, it’s all my fault—I’ve made you worry so much. If it weren’t for me, none of this would’ve happened.”

“How about… I just stop going to school? I can stay and help around the house. If Xiaomin really doesn’t want this marriage, we can’t force her.”

“Let’s find a way to return the bride price to Song Jianjun, okay? Then we can go to the village committee and see if the marriage registration can be canceled. We’ll explain everything to them properly…”
