The family survived this crisis without any danger. The tense spirit suddenly relaxed and it was easy to feel tired.
On the way home, Chu Heyan didn’t speak the whole time. He went back to his room after entering the house and didn’t come out again.
Lin Qingluo thought he was too tired after the shock and wanted to rest, so she didn’t bother him.
Chu Lingyu felt something was wrong, because Chu Heyan returned to the previous room today.
Didn’t he have to complete the mission to compete with him for the room? Why did he suddenly stop competing?
These days, with Chu Heyan around, his sleep quality has never been better, but now it’s back to square one, and he’s starting to get a headache from other people’s voices.
For some reason, the range of his mind-reading ability seems to be slowly expanding. Before, he could only hear the voices of people in the next room, but now he can hear the voices of the whole villa, including the servants’ room.
Those chaotic voices seemed to have turned into invisible needles, constantly piercing his brain.
Even if he tried to concentrate and not pay attention to those voices, he still couldn’t resist the headaches, tinnitus and physiological nausea brought by the expanded range of mind-reading. Not long after taking a shower, he broke out in a cold sweat again.
Although it was difficult to fall asleep before, it was not so serious.
Chu Lingyu endured the discomfort and took another shower. Seeing his pale face in the mirror, he finally went to knock on Chu Heyan’s door.
After knocking three times, there was still no response from inside. Chu Lingyu turned the doorknob and found that the door was locked.
He whispered through the door: “Are you asleep?”
No one answered him.
Chu Lingyu raised his voice a little and asked again, but there was still no response.
He felt a little uneasy, so he went downstairs to ask the housekeeper for a spare key. He opened the door and found that the lights were not on inside. It was pitch black and the curtains were drawn.
There was a blurry figure on the bed, curled up in the quilt.
“Are you okay?” Chu Lingyu slowly walked to the bed.
The person in the quilt moved, and a muffled voice came from inside: “Go out.”
“I can’t sleep alone.” Chu Lingyu said.
The person in the quilt stopped talking again.
Chu Lingyu explained to him as he got on the bed: “I’ve taken a shower, so I won’t dirty your bed.”
Chu Heyan grabbed the quilt tightly, not wanting him to lift it, but Chu Lingyu easily won in terms of strength.
“I really can’t hear what you’re thinking.”
After hearing this, Chu Heyan finally lifted his face from the pillow, looked at him in the dark and asked: “Did you lie to me?”
Chu Lingyu said seriously: “If I lie to you, I’d be a puppy.”
Chu Heyan didn’t believe it easily, and cursed him a few more times in his heart, but found that Chu Lingyu still didn’t react.
He was about to reluctantly believe the other party once, but heard Chu Lingyu ask: “Did you just curse me in your heart?”
Chu Heyan: “You still say you can’t hear it?”
Seeing that he was about to get angry again, Chu Lingyu hurriedly said: “I really can’t hear it. I guessed that from your expression, you probably cursed me in your heart.”
Chu Heyan was angry, and now he felt guilty. He turned his face away, turned over, and said with his back to Chu Lingyu: “If you didn’t hear it, I didn’t curse.”
Chu Lingyu thought it was a little funny, but he didn’t intend to argue with Chu Heyan about this.
He took away a small half of the quilt and quietly stuck it to Chu Heyan.
Chu Heyan suddenly turned over to face him and asked doubtfully: “Really can’t hear it?”
Chu Lingyu sighed: “How do you want me to prove it?”
In the dark, he could see Chu Heyan’s beautiful phoenix eyes slightly turning his eyeballs, as if thinking about something.
“Why are you the only one who can’t hear it?” Chu Heyan asked in confusion and suspicion.
Is it because he is the protagonist?
When the other protagonist appears, it can be verified.
Chu Lingyu didn’t understand why he couldn’t hear Chu Heyan’s inner voice, and Chu Heyan was like a signal masker, who could mask those inner voices with just one touch.
“I don’t know, don’t you think it’s weirder that other people can hear what you’re thinking?” Chu Lingyu looked at him and said.
It seemed so, but Chu Heyan still thought Chu Lingyu’s special case was weird.
However, if Chu Lingyu could hear his thoughts, he would have kicked him out long ago. He
was already uncomfortable just guessing before, and now that his inner voice was confirmed, he felt extremely embarrassed just thinking about it.
The room became quiet, and Chu Lingyu carefully pressed against Chu Heyan’s legs, and his mind suddenly became clear.
He secretly breathed a sigh of relief and was about to go to bed when he heard the other party ask, “Did you do this before?”
“What?” Chu Lingyu’s voice was a little unclear, revealing a strong sense of fatigue.
Chu Heyan stopped asking halfway through, pulled up the quilt, closed his eyes and went to sleep.
The next morning, Lin Qingluo went to Chu Lingyu’s room and knocked on the door, ready to wake up a child to eat, but found that there was no one inside, and the bed was very neat, obviously no one had moved.
She asked Chu Huaijin who was passing by in confusion: “Huaijin, have you seen your brothers? Where are they?”
Chu Huaijin looked out and knocked on Chu Heyan’s door. After a while, Chu Lingyu came to open the door, his face showing some fatigue.
Lin Qingluo wanted to ask him why he went to Chu Heyan’s room to sleep, but before he opened his mouth, he heard Chu Lingyu whispered: “He slept late last night, let’s not disturb him.”
Lin Qingluo and Chu Huaijin looked at each other and saw the confusion in each other’s eyes again.
What’s wrong with these two children?
They say they have a good relationship, but they rarely talk to each other properly. Especially Chu Heyan, he never gave Chu Lingyu a good face. Every time he spoke, he either had a little sarcasm or a commanding tone.
But if you say they have a bad relationship, they are inseparable every day, and even have to squeeze in a bed when sleeping.
Chu Lingyu ignored their inquiring gazes, went back to his room to change clothes, and then went downstairs to eat.
At the table, Lin Qingluo couldn’t help asking: “Lingyu, have you really never heard Yanyan’s inner voice?”
“No.” Chu Lingyu still answered this way.
Lin Qingluo said again: “You all slept late last night? Were you scared?”
Chu Lingyu looked up: “I’m fine, he might be a little…”
In addition to being frightened, Chu Heyan probably couldn’t accept others hearing his inner thoughts.
Putting himself in his shoes, Chu Lingyu felt that he wouldn’t be able to accept such a thing if it happened to him.
Lin Qingluo obviously thought of this as well. She picked up a soup dumpling for Chu Lingyu and said, “Lingyu, mom, dad and your eldest brother have to go out today. When Yanyan wakes up, remember to remind him to eat something. Also, help mom explain to Yanyan that we didn’t hear any of his personal privacy. It was all about Chu Jiancheng’s family and your uncle.”
Chu Lingyu nodded and continued to eat.
Chu Huaijin suggested: “Dad, Mom, Lingyu and Yanyan are both adults. It’s a holiday now and we have nothing to do. Why don’t we let them go to the company for internship? Whether they work at the family company or start their own business, it will be good for them to accumulate some experience.”
Chu Yecheng and Lin Qingluo both thought it was a good idea, but Lin Qingluo still asked the parties involved for their opinions: “Lingyu, do you want to go?”
Chu Lingyu thought for a while and said, “I’ll ask Yanyan later.”
Lin Qingluo smiled and said, “That’s fine, but Yanyan has been lazy since he was a child, so he may not be willing to go for an internship at this time.”
No one knows a son better than his mother. Chu Heyan was really unhappy.
“If you want to go, go by yourself.”
Chu Heyan wore a loose white T-shirt and blue plaid pajamas, leaning lazily on the sofa, drinking Coke with a straw in his mouth.
He turned on the TV and found an anime. There was also a bag of lime-flavored potato chips at hand. Except for his overly beautiful face, he looked no different from an ordinary 18-year-old boy.
Chu Lingyu took away his ice cola and handed him a cup of warm milk, “Drinking iced drinks in the morning is not good for your stomach, eat something first.”
Chu Heyan looked unhappy, “What do you care about me?”
He stretched out his hand to grab the cola back, but Chu Lingyu relied on his height advantage to stop him from doing so.
Chu Heyan simply gave up and asked the servant to pour him another cup.
Chu Lingyu: “Don’t pour it for him.”
The servant was suddenly in a dilemma.
Chu Heyan leaned against the sofa and looked up at Chu Lingyu: “Mom, Dad and my eldest brother have just taken over the core business of the family. They must be very busy recently. If you have nothing to do, you can go to the company now to help them share some of the burden.”
Chu Lingyu put the milk in front of him, “Mom asked me to supervise you to eat breakfast.”
Chu Heyan was obviously angry and picked up the potato chips to go upstairs.
Chu Lingyu followed him and said, “How about I call my mom?”
Chu Heyan turned around and threw potato chips at him: “Are you done yet?”
Chu Lingyu caught the potato chips, smiled and said, “Don’t be angry, I won’t care if you drink Coke after dinner.”
The two of them confronted each other for a moment. Although Chu Lingyu had a good attitude, he didn’t mean to give in.
Chu Heyan glared at him fiercely, walked past him and went downstairs, drank the glass of milk in one breath, and then went to the audio-visual room upstairs angrily.
When Chu Lingyu went in with snacks and iced Coke, a bloody horror movie was playing on the screen.
He put the things on the coffee table, sat next to Chu Heyan, didn’t take the initiative to speak, and quietly accompanied him to watch the horror movie.
A few minutes later, Chu Heyan suddenly got angry again. He turned off the projector and asked unhappily, “Why are you following me all the time?”
Chu Lingyu looked innocent, “Is it not possible? There is no one else at home.”
Chu Heyan took a deep breath, “Then go to the company to find them.”
Chu Lingyu, “But I want to stay with you more.”
He has not yet adapted to the side effects brought by the expansion of the range of mind reading. With Chu Heyan around, he can at least be quiet for a while when he can’t stand it.
There are many people in the company, and the voices are even more noisy. He doesn’t want to embarrass himself for the time being.
Chu Heyan: “…”
He pulled out the system and asked, [Is your protagonist crazy?]
The system beeped twice, “Host, you are finally willing to pay attention to me, woo woo woo woo…”
Chu Heyan said impatiently, [Don’t make noise, it gives me a headache. I’m asking you, is he not normal?]
The system said a little aggrievedly, “I don’t know either. The plot has collapsed. It’s normal for the protagonist to become abnormal.”
Useless thing!
Chu Heyan angrily cut off the connection with the system. This was a new skill he discovered last night. He could cut off connection with the system unilaterally, but the system could not cut off connection with him.
Although he didn’t know what was going on with Chu Lingyu, it didn’t matter. He just had to go against him.
He stood up, looked down at Chu Lingyu, and smiled: “Okay, if you don’t go, I will.”
The next second, the total points of his personal interface in the system suddenly increased by two thousand.
The system that he blocked said excitedly: “The host is hard-mouthed but soft-hearted. Although he blocked me, he is still doing his mission well!”
