Chapter 162: Fengya Discussing Fengya
“Big Sister, if you show me this kind of book, I’ll sleep even harder!” Fatty looked at the medical book in his hand, feeling helpless.
“Don’t judge a book by its cover; you have to look at the content,” Ye Wenxin replied knowingly. In reality, it was not really a medical book at all. Fatty, curious, opened it, and his eyes widened as he read, his blood boiling with excitement.
“Big Sister, you actually have this kind of book!”
“Of course. It was originally meant to be sold as merchandise. I got it from a certain sect.” Ye Wenxin smiled faintly, picturing Shura Hall’s library.
Because of Shura Hall’s unique cultivation techniques, the books in their library were quite special. Ye Wenxin immediately requested one copy of each book; even though they were all just illustrations, the positions inside were varied and plentiful.
But, Ye Wenxin only let Fatty have a few glances before taking the book back.
“Big Sister, why?!” Fatty was almost in tears. His Big Sister was just playing with him.
“I just wanted to cheer you up a bit,” Ye Wenxin replied, which was indeed her intention. Fatty felt even more aggrieved, and Ye Wenxin continued with a smile, “Later, you can vent this dissatisfaction on Su Mei. Hehehe, as the saying goes: victory requires all means.”
“Big Sister, you’re playing with fire here. Su Mei isn’t simple!” Fatty was baffled, finally understanding why Ye Wenxin showed him such a strange book before the competition—she wanted him to act sleazy to stir up Su Mei’s emotions.
“So we can only resort to a dumb method, to first make her lose her cool. You have no advantage in long-range combat, so it’s better to engage in close combat. It won’t only disgust her… er, no, anger her,” Ye Wenxin explained her plan with a smile; since Su Mei disgusted her, she would return the favor.
Although the method was somewhat dishonorable, it was Fatty’s only key to triumph. Because Su Mei cared about her body and her Iceborn Constitution, she would never let a man get close.
Ye Wenxin thought this method would kill two birds with one stone, as long as Su Mei was shaken up, Fatty, who was on par with her, would definitely win.
“Big Sister, Aotian will beat me up for this.”
“You’re afraid of Gu Aotian, with your current cultivation?” Ye Wenxin raised an eyebrow in response. Fatty was stunned for a moment, then his expression became more determined as he clenched his fists.
“Yeah, I’m not who I used to be. I can be popular too.”
Ye Wenxin patted Fatty’s shoulder and took out a second book from her bag of holding.
Fatty thought it would be another wrestling guide, but to his surprise, Ye Wenxin had a legitimate acupuncture diagram this time.
“After getting close, hug her and target these acupuncture points…” After the earlier surprise, Fatty was now focused, attentively listening as Ye Wenxin explained the purpose of these acupoints.
The two were so engrossed in their discussion that they did not realize the venue had suddenly fallen silent, and only then did they become aware of the change in their surroundings.
The Sect Master of the Azure Wings Sect was standing on the stage.
“Are the elder matches over now?” Ye Wenxin asked curiously, turning to a passerby.
The passerby was equally confused. He had been listening to Ye Wenxin and Fatty’s conversation, and had not paid attention to the stage, so he reluctantly asked the person next to him.
Unfortunately, that person had also been distracted by Ye Wenxin and Fatty’s discussion.
It was not until they asked the fifth person down the line that they finally learned the elder matches had already gone through two rounds.
The Sect Master’s presence on stage signaled that the next participant would undoubtedly be a significant figure.
“Could it be Fairy Fengya?”
“Impossible, Fairy Fengya is in closed-door training.”
“You can’t say for sure, after all, this is the Immortal Sect Grand Tournament.”
The crowd buzzed with speculation. Even the Fatty became excited, losing interest in Ye Wenxin’s explanation. Seeing this, Ye Wenxin figured she had covered enough, and put the book away, just as the Sect Master began his announcement.
“Next, we have the honor of inviting Fairy…”
Before he could finish his sentence, the crowd erupted in cheers, drowning out the rest of his words.
Others did not catch it, but Ye Wenxin heard it clearly.
The Sect Master had announced the elder from the God King Sect, Fairy Caihong; not Fairy Fengya.
As he finished speaking, a woman dressed in rainbow-colored robes gracefully appeared on stage.
The crowd’s attention was initially on her face, but upon realizing that her looks were only above average, they felt quite disappointed.
Everyone knew, that Fairy Fengya was ranked first on the Unparalleled Beauties List. Although Fairy Caihong was well-known, she did not even come close to Fairy Fengya.
In an instant, the excitement dissipated, replaced by a palpable sense of awkwardness.
Fairy Caihong, however, was unfazed, and threw a flirtatious glance at Ling Jue, who was seated on the stage.
Ling Jue’s expression darkened, unable to deal with Fairy Caihong. Ye Wenxin could not help but laugh, recalling Ling Jue’s bizarre stories about Fairy Caihong. Seeing her again, Ye Wenxin looked forward to Fairy Caihong’s impressive performance.
“This time, the rules are different from before. Challengers can choose any elder-rank expert to duel,” announced the Sect Master, seemingly to add more excitement to the event.
This piqued the crowd’s interest.
“Choose Fairy Fengya!”
Someone in the crowd shouted, and soon everyone joined in, chanting Fairy Fengya’s name.
What was meant to be Fairy Caihong’s moment, was now overshadowed by Fairy Fengya. Fairy Caihong was displeased, but she maintained her smile and said, “Although everyone wants to see Fairy Fengya, as you can see, she isn’t here.”
She feigned regret, but was actually glad that fairy Fengya was not present.
Everyone knew that Fairy Fengya was a martial maniac who loved closed-door training, but few knew the secret techniques she practiced. The only certainty was that Fairy Fengya’s strength was unfathomable, with rumors suggesting she had already reached the Tribulation stage.
Fairy Caihong was only in the early Nascent Soul stage; how could she possibly face such an overwhelming opponent?
“As long as Fairy Caihong chooses it, it will be,” said the Sect Master enigmatically, causing another uproar in the audience.
Despite this, Ye Wenxin believed the Sect Master was merely putting on a show.
Knowing Fairy Fengya’s character, it was highly unlikely she would attend such an event. If Fairy Fengya did show up, Ye Wenxin would become this Immortal Sect Grand Tournament’s champion!
Ye Wenxin silently scoffed at the notion. Perhaps influenced by the strong enthusiasm around her, Fairy Caihong succumbed to the pressure, and reluctantly called out Fairy Fengya’s name.
“Then I choose Fairy Fengya.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, the crowd erupted into even greater excitement, but soon sighed when they saw no sign of her.
One person’s sigh might be faint, but when everyone sighed together, the sound was overwhelming. The Sect Master remained unfazed, he returned to his seat, looking pleased with himself.
For some reason, seeing the Sect Master’s smug smile filled Ye Wenxin with a sense of foreboding.
“Very well. Fairy Fengya, one of our Twelve School Masters, will accept the challenge.” The Sect Master’s voice reached every corner of the venue. People jumped to their feet, craning their necks to catch a glimpse of Fairy Fengya, afraid to miss any detail.
However, the person’s shadow, was still nowhere to be seen.
The Sect Master looked embarrassed and said a few words to the people next to him, seemingly intending to call for Fairy Fengya, but at the same time, someone had already flown in from the air.
She arrived on a flying sword, with fallen leaves and flower petals trailing behind her. These flower petals looked very familiar to Ye Wenxin; they probably came from the backwoods. It seemed that Fairy Fengya had completely forgotten about the Immortal Sect Grand Tournament, and was just rushing over now.
As she landed on the platform, the petals naturally surrounded her, creating a magnificent entrance.
People gasped in surprise at Fairy Fengya’s gorgeous entrance and stunning beauty, but Ye Wenxin could not help but scoff in her heart.
This was supposed to be an embarrassing late arrival, but in the eyes of the crowd, it was beauty itself.
But it must be said, for the umpteenth time, Fairy Fengya’s reputation as the most beautiful woman in the world was absolutely well-deserved.
Her white robes fluttered without wind, exuding an ethereal aura, like a fairy descended into the mortal world. Her beauty was as indifferent as water, her features exquisite like a painting. There was no adornment on her, not even a trace of makeup, yet she was beautiful enough to make any woman feel inferior and any man fall in love at first sight.
In this moment, everyone held their breath, their eyes fixed on Fairy Fengya. However, her indifferent eyes did not linger on anyone, only subconsciously glancing towards where Ye Wenxin was.
Ye Wenxin knew Fairy Fengya was looking at her, but she did not expect Fairy Fengya to really show up.
When did this martial maniac start caring about reputation?! Could it be that Qi Deviation had affected her so much that it led to a drastic change in her personality?
While Ye Wenxin pondered over many possibilities, the atmosphere in the arena remained charged for a long time.
On the stage, Fairy Caihong finally reacted and smiled at Fairy Fengya.
“Fengya1 is truly a well-deserved name.”
Fairy Fengya just nodded faintly, neither modest nor returning the praise. Fairy Caihong nearly rounded on her. Unable to hide her jealousy in her eyes, she added with a hint of taunting, “But Fairy Fengya, you sure have a high opinion of yourself. Everyone is waiting for you.”
“Oh, I forgot.” Fairy Fengya uttered these few words; Fairy Caihong almost spat out blood and died from sheer frustration.
Barely containing her anger, Fairy Caihong responded acidically, “You can forget something as important as this? You really think highly of yourself.”
“Fengya is solely devoted to pursuing immortality, never thought of other matters,” Fairy Fengya replied flatly. She herself could not understand why she, a person so dedicated to immortality, would come here.
Could it be, that she was influenced by Ye Wenxin’s comment, ‘Is this still a human?’ Perhaps she was trying to show her human side, wanting her disciple to know that she, as a master, was still quite reliable.
