Meanwhile, at Fu Yi Hospital, the tense treatment had passed. Xie Bingyan’s condition in the ICU was stable, and in the afternoon, she began transitioning to regular treatment.
Xu Deming, Xu Junzhe, Xu Manni, and others also started to recover, regaining consciousness. Xu Wanting took care of them.
She hadn’t told them about Xu Mo’s situation yet. She wanted to wait until they recovered fully, fearing it might disrupt their recuperation.
Within a day and a night, Xu Deming, Xu Junzhe, and others had started to recover, able to move around freely. However, Xie Bingyan’s condition remained more severe, with bouts of consciousness interspersed with deep slumber.
Another day passed, and Xie Bingyan had improved considerably, with her fever subsiding to a normal level.
Xu Wanting waited another day before Xie Bingyan showed significant improvement. She had Zhao Ma prepare some porridge and brought it over for everyone to eat.
“Is Mom feeling better?” Xu Junzhe’s voice suddenly sounded as he fed Xie Bingyan.
Xu Wanting glanced back and replied, “Much better!”
“Sister, you go and take a break! You’ve been tired for days. Let me take care of Mom!” Xu Junzhe walked over with a pleasing smile.
He had fully recovered, just exercising in the ward to show off his muscles and strength.
“Let me handle it! You’re not completely well yet. You need to rest for another day,” Xu Wanting shook her head.
“I’m fine now! It’s so strange to catch such a severe cold on this trip to Paris!” Xu Junzhe approached and took the bowl from Xu Wanting’s hand with a smile. “Sister, go rest for a while. You look exhausted!”
Seeing his initiative, Xu Wanting hesitated, looking at Xie Bingyan.
Xie Bingyan felt relieved seeing her adopted son’s gesture. “Wanting, you indeed look tired. Let Junzhe take over! I’m almost fully recovered.”
Seeing this, Xu Wanting didn’t argue and gave the place to Xu Junzhe.
“Junzhe, you’ll be going to Beijing soon for school. It’s about to start in a few days, so you need to prepare well!” Xu Deming, sitting on the other side, spoke up.
“Dad, I got it. Once we’re back home tomorrow, I’ll start preparing immediately!” Xu Junzhe smiled.
“As for Tsinghua University, are you looking forward to it?” Xu Deming looked at his stepson.
“Of course, I’m looking forward to it! I’ve been longing for it for a long time. Both Big Sister and Second Sister studied there, and I’ve always wanted to go and see!” Xu Junzhe chuckled.
Xu Deming also smiled. “That’s good to hear! Once you’re in school, focus on your studies!”
“Thanks, Dad! I will!” Xu Junzhe smiled and then fed the porridge to Xie Bingyan.
“Mom, be careful, it’s still quite hot!”
“Alright!” Xie Bingyan nodded and smiled. “Our Junzhe is so filial. When he goes to school, he’ll definitely study hard and excel! Remember, if you encounter any problems at school, make sure to call Mom, okay?”
“I understand, I’ll definitely let you know!” Xu Junzhe replied.
“Very well!” Xie Bingyan couldn’t help but feel extremely satisfied, her love for her son deeply ingrained.
Xu Wanting watched their loving interaction, intending to bring up Xu Mo’s matter. However, in this situation, she wasn’t sure how to broach the subject.
She feared that bringing it up might severely affect the mood of both Xie Bingyan and Xu Deming.
She got up and walked towards the outside.
“Sister, about Xu Mo…” Outside, Xu Xuehui looked at her, her expression hesitant.
“Let’s wait until tomorrow to see how they are doing. They haven’t fully recovered yet,” Xu Wanting said.
“Okay,” Xu Xuehui nodded helplessly.
Neither of them brought it up again, and after another half a day passed, it seemed like Xu Junzhe hadn’t fully recovered yet and returned to his room to rest.
Xu Deming seemed to recall something and called Xu Wanting over.
“Eldest, come in for a moment,” Xu Wanting was resting outside and hurried in upon hearing him call.
“Dad, did you call for me?”
Xu Deming nodded. “Help me brew a cup of tea; my water glass is empty.”
“Okay,” Xu Wanting hurried to prepare the tea.
“Wanting, where is Xu Mo?” Xu Deming asked suddenly, noticing her busyness.
Xu Wanting was startled, casting him a glance with a hint of panic in her expression.
“Where is Xu Mo now?” Xu Deming continued.
It seemed that upon hearing this question, Xie Bingyan, who was lying on the bed, also opened her eyes. It appeared they had just remembered they have another child.
Xu Wanting looked flustered, pondered for a moment, and said, “Dad, both you and Mom haven’t fully recovered yet!”
“Have you found out Xu Mo’s whereabouts? What has this disobedient child been up to lately? Does he know your mom was rushed to the ICU for treatment?” Xu Deming said angrily.
Upon hearing this, Xu Wanting suddenly didn’t know how to explain and quickly turned to look at Xie Bingyan.
Xie Bingyan’s expression turned cold. “Eldest, you don’t know what he’s been doing?”
Xu Wanting sighed at her words. “He already knows that Mom was rushed to the ICU, but he hasn’t come. We’ve already informed him!”
“Didn’t come?” Xu Deming stared at her.
Xu Wanting nodded. “He refused to come!”
With these words, both Xu Deming and Xie Bingyan’s expressions turned as cold as ice.
“Alright, alright! This disobedient child, indeed, he’s truly disobedient. I knew he would be heartless, unfilial, and ungrateful! He won’t even come to see his mother when she’s rushed to the ICU for treatment. What else can we expect from him?” Xu Deming thundered in anger.
Xie Bingyan was also extremely angry. “I knew he wouldn’t come! Xu Deming, your son is worthless, a wolf in sheep’s clothing!”
She clearly hadn’t recovered from the last incident when Xu Mo drew a knife on them, still full of resentment.
Hearing this, Xu Wanting felt extremely uncomfortable.
After some thought, she said, “Maybe he’s just been busy lately and couldn’t make it!”
“Has he discussed his university application with you?” Xu Deming stared at her.
“No,” Xu Wanting shook her head.
“He hasn’t asked us either! He probably thinks he’s grown wings and can fly solo now. He doesn’t need our opinion on any school he applies to! Even when we went to Paris, he didn’t even send a greeting!” Xu Deming seemed to remember this incident, teeth itching with anger.
“Now there’s no need to even mention it. With something so significant happening, this unfilial son doesn’t even bother to ask a single question. It really infuriates me!”
Xu Wanting didn’t know what to say and fell silent for a moment.
“Compared to Junzhe, he’s really far behind. At least Junzhe knows how to show concern! Eldest, what exactly has Xu Mo been up to lately?” Xu Deming looked genuinely angry.
Xu Wanting hesitated for a moment before sighing. “Xu Mo… is busy with preparing for school, and he also…”
“And what else?” Xie Bingyan’s eyes were icy as she looked at her, feeling thoroughly disappointed in Xu Mo.
“He also started a company. Lately, he’s been busy running the company, and it’s been developing quite rapidly!” Xu Wanting spoke up.
“He started a company?” Xie Bingyan was surprised, which was beyond her expectations. “Where did he get the money to start a company? What kind of company is it?”
“It’s a company that operates shared bicycles. As for where he got the money, I have no idea!” Xu Wanting replied. “Xu Mo has been busy with this lately. Yesterday, Fifth Sister and I went to see him, but he refused to come to Fu Yi Hospital!”
“Alright, alright. His wings are really grown, indeed!” Xie Bingyan was so infuriated that she gritted her teeth and let out a cold laugh. “Even when his own parents are sick, he doesn’t bother to come and check on them. Truly an ungrateful wretch! I knew he’d turn out this way!”
“Which school did he apply to?” Xie Bingyan stared at her, trembling with anger.
“I… I don’t know either. He didn’t tell me,” Xu Wanting suddenly remembered, realizing that Xu Mo hadn’t mentioned it to her at all.
“He doesn’t even come when we’re sick. What else can we expect from him? This unfilial child is simply outrageous!” Xu Deming was still angry.
Xie Bingyan glanced at him and said, “Xu Deming, did you secretly give him money to start the company?”
“Me? Why would I give him money?” Xu Deming exclaimed indignantly.
“If you didn’t give him money, where did he get it from to start a company? Where did his money come from?” Xie Bingyan didn’t believe it at all. “It’s because you spoiled him that he became so unruly! I’ve told you before, Xu Mo has a bad temperament, he needs to be disciplined, or he’ll be ruined sooner or later! He’ll never enter high society! I’m sure you secretly gave him money!”
“I thought it was you who gave him money! Why would I give him money? This disobedient child is driving me crazy!” Xu Deming exclaimed angrily.
“If you didn’t give him money, how did he get it? Where did his money come from?” Xie Bingyan looked at Xu Wanting, disbelieving.
“Neither have I given him any money. Perhaps Xu Mo has his own ways, and besides, his company has already secured funding!” Xu Wanting hurriedly explained.
“What? Secured funding?” Xu Deming and Xie Bingyan were astonished.
“Yes! He raised 150 million yuan, and now his company is valued at around 1.5 billion!” Xu Wanting revealed.
Boom!
Xu Deming and Xie Bingyan couldn’t help but stare in disbelief, their eyes widening in shock.
“1.5 billion?” Xie Bingyan exclaimed.
