Chapter 43: Thanks to the Boss for Her Generosity
The drawers here were large. Aside from one big central drawer, there were three tiers on both the left and right sides—seven drawers in total.
The middle drawer held some files and documents, which Jiang Yuan wasn’t interested in. She pulled them all out and placed them on the floor.
In the top-left drawer, there was a handbag—looked like a certain V brand. It felt heavy. Jiang Yuan opened it directly and found a thick wad of cash, probably around 5,000 yuan. It was likely used as petty cash. There were also a few cards, but who knew what they were for.
Well, lucky her. She took both the bag and the money. In her spatial storage, she placed a transparent storage box with a lid on the bed, meant specifically for cash. All the 100-yuan bills went in one place, and once they hit 10,000, it would get “upgraded.”
Beside that was a box of high-end tissues—super soft and from a brand she’d never seen before. Only a third had been used. Rich people really knew how to enjoy life.
There was also a makeup pouch inside, with foundation, lipstick, loose powder, eye cream—all high-end brands. So much money walking away!
The second drawer held two photo albums. Seemed this boss was a nostalgic type—who still used photo albums these days?
The third drawer contained unopened tea and coffee—premium stuff, just by the look of it.
Jiang Yuan noticed it was already 11:30, so she stopped dawdling and picked up the pace.
On the right side, the top drawer had company stamps and some contracts, likely for convenience. The lower two drawers were filled with snacks—mini buns, chocolate, toffee, biscuits.
There was also one and a half packs of long, thin cigarettes, two trays of matches (forty boxes total), and a lighter. These were the kind of large matches that could light a whole circle of people’s cigarettes—definitely a business essential.
Apparently, this boss was a woman, probably with low blood sugar or just a love for high-calorie snacks.
She separated the useful from the useless: snacks went into a shared bag (since this was team loot), and anything she considered particularly useful, she kept for herself.
Once she finished, she stored the large redwood desk into her space. She’d reserved enough space by her bed for it.
After that, she upgraded her “Wood” element and immediately chose to expand her land by one square meter. She had already prepared water and struck a match to add fire, using the soil she’d previously hoarded.
The upgrades rolled in—Gold, Wood, Water, Fire—but she ran out of soil for the next step.
She picked something that looked like a power socket and gained another seven square meters of land.
There was no time to admire the changes—she rushed back to looting.
Next to the office was a tea table made of solid wood, including its tea set. The couch behind it, although upholstered in leather, had a solid wood frame. All of it went straight to her new land in the spatial space.
She swept the tea leaves from the table into a bag.
Looking around the room, she suddenly noticed an inconspicuous door in the corner.
Excited, she ran over—it was locked.
Her skills weren’t on Zhang Kaiyang’s level, but she could handle a regular lock.
Fortunately, she’d brought tools when she left home—now they were finally useful.
“Oh my god!”
The moment she opened the door, she was stunned.
What even was this place? A CEO’s luxury suite?!
This room had to be at least 60–70 square meters. Just one room.
Directly across was a massive redwood display shelf—solid redwood.
Jiang Yuan almost dropped to her knees to thank the boss.
No hesitation—she started storing it away immediately. The shelves were full of ornate bottles and decorative pieces that looked super expensive.
She’d examine them later. The bed, nightstands, a four-door wardrobe, an octagonal table, grand armchairs, vanity—all in carved Chinese-style solid wood.
If she didn’t need the space, she would’ve kept these untouched. In the future, they’d be antiques!
After she stored the wardrobe, she noticed a wall-mounted safe behind it.
Jiang Yuan’s excitement peaked. She remembered Jiang Yu had once bought a massive pair of scissors that could even cut through rebar.
She had brought them on her last outing—and now they were finally useful.
This thing was tough. She exhausted herself but finally managed to break it open.
Though tired, her curiosity got the better of her.
If it was stored in a safe, it had to be something valuable.
“Oh my god…”
When the door opened, she was practically blinded.
The safe door wasn’t that big, but the interior was spacious. Inside was a thick stack of cash—hundreds of thousands, easily.
Jiang Yuan didn’t have time to think. She grabbed a huge woven bag and began stuffing it full.
She had to stay alert in case any of her companions came in—this was a mountain of cash.
In the middle section were some jewelry and gold bars. She didn’t know why the boss kept everything here instead of at home…
But when she saw 20–30 real estate certificates, all under one name, she understood.
The boss was probably not someone’s legitimate wife—or had family issues—and had been living here alone.
No matter the backstory, it was all hers now. She had to bow and give thanks.
A breeze fluttered the white sheer curtains. Through them, Jiang Yuan saw something even more unbelievable.
There was a balcony outside, separated by a glass door, filled with beautiful plants—clivia, devil’s ivy, white gardenias, jasmine, daisies, all kinds of quirky succulents.
Unfortunately, most had dried up. That hurt.
Still, with new soil available, the problem was solved instantly.
Once again, she gave thanks to the generous boss.
Looking further east, there was a dining table—Chinese redwood style.
Behind that was a kitchen, probably 20 square meters.
Could this really be just for convenience?
Highly unlikely.
All the usual kitchenware and appliances were there, clean and tidy.
Even a massive four-door refrigerator—and oddly, it still had power. Maybe it had a built-in battery?
When she opened it, she was blown away.
The fridge was packed full—vegetables, seafood, meats, foie gras, caviar—you name it.
After all this time, they still looked fresh.
Without hesitation, Jiang Yuan packed up the entire fridge.
Then, loaded with spoils, she left the room. On her way out of the office, she also grabbed the laptop.
“Heavens, how is there this much stuff?!”
“Jiang Yuan-jie, Brother Song found the warehouse nearby. I’m almost done here. You go help them first!”
“Alright!”
Ye Mianmian was responsible for the workstations—there were probably 40–50 of them—and she was diligently searching for loot.
“Mianmian, you can skip the mugs. We don’t really need them…”
“Huh? I picked out all the pretty ones, thinking we could sell them later to trade for supplies.”
Jiang Yuan instinctively facepalmed. This silly girl… what’s going on in that head of yours?
