What Childhood Sweetheart? The Abstinent Powerholder Is Irresistibly Flirtatious Chapter 24

Chapter 24: Shen Chiyi

The next day, Wen Jiu returned to the hotel with takeout snacks from a dessert shop. As soon as she reached her room, she noticed the door wide open, with several unfamiliar people—both men and women—gathered outside. She didn’t recognize any of them.

“Hurry up and clean the place! My friend is arriving soon,” came a spoiled and arrogant female voice from inside. The sound was harsh and grating to Wen Jiu’s ears.

She didn’t rush forward. Instead, she called Wen Xingshu.

When the call connected, she lowered her voice and said, “Ge, check your messages.”

Wen Xingshu immediately opened his chat and saw a pinned message from Wen Jiu:

[Someone broke into my hotel room. Send help ASAP.]

Outnumbered, Wen Jiu knew better than to confront them alone.

Once Wen Xingshu confirmed help was on the way, she hung up and turned to leave.

But just then, a hotel staff member who had walked out of her room spotted her.

“Miss Wen! You’re back!” the staff called out in surprise.

With that, everyone inside and outside the room turned their attention to her.

Wen Jiu didn’t stop—instead, she quickened her pace.

But clearly, the others had no intention of letting her go.

Several people rushed over and blocked her path, their hostile gazes giving her a very bad feeling.

“Running away?” A woman clad in designer luxury stepped out of the room. Her eyes flicked over Wen Jiu’s face, a flash of jealousy passing through. “Mainlander?”

Not bad looking, she thought.

Wen Jiu met her gaze calmly. “Yes. Is there a problem?”

“No problem at all.” Shen Xi raised her manicured hand, admiring her nails before continuing slowly,

“It’s just that this room is now mine. You and your trash need to get out.”

“Trash?” Wen Jiu sneered, then looked at the necklace with a rare pink diamond around Shen Xi’s neck. Her smile turned mocking.

“Then what does it mean when you wear that trash around your neck?”

Caught off guard by Wen Jiu’s bold words, Shen Xi’s smug smile froze for a moment. She recovered quickly and sneered again.

“I don’t understand what you’re saying.”

“No problem if you don’t understand. I’ll explain.”

Wen Jiu calmly placed her dessert beside a nearby trash bin and began:

“The diamond around your neck is called Queen’s Heart. A year ago, it was sold at an elite auction in France for 150 million.”

“The buyer was a Chinese businessman with the surname Wen.”

She then stared silently into Shen Xi’s eyes.

Even if unsure whether Wen Jiu was telling the truth, the number alone made Shen Xi’s heart race—not with fear, but greed.

A diamond worth 150 million… no wonder she liked it at first sight.

She caressed the pink diamond and made a decision.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. That necklace has always been mine.”

Then she ordered, without blinking:

“Throw this woman and her trash out.”

In Gangcheng, she called the shots.

The necklace was on her neck—so it was hers.

At her command, the group surrounding Wen Jiu moved to grab her.

As their sticky hands reached toward her, Wen Jiu frowned in disgust.

But that was all—just disgust.

Her hand gently touched the hidden knife in her sleeve as she thought of ways to stall.

But before she could act, the elevator behind them dinged open.

Everyone froze.

A woman in a white suit stepped out briskly, followed by over ten bodyguards.

Wen Jiu looked back and immediately recognized her.

Shen Chiyi—the Wen family’s representative in Gangcheng and Wen Xingshu’s appointed contact.

Wen Xingshu had sent Shen Chiyi Wen Jiu’s photo and details in advance to help with local matters.

Still, Wen Jiu hadn’t expected their first meeting to be like this.

“Chiyi-jie!” Wen Jiu quickly waved. “I’m over here!”

“Wen Jiu!” Shen Chiyi was stunned—Wen Jiu was even more beautiful than in the photo.

She rushed over and checked her from head to toe. Only when she confirmed Wen Jiu wasn’t hurt did she finally relax.

“I’m okay, don’t worry,” Wen Jiu reassured her, tugging her sleeve playfully. “Didn’t even get to fight—just almost.”

She winked mischievously.

Looking at this clever and lively girl, Shen Chiyi’s heart melted.

So this was the sister Wen Xingshu and the whole family adored—like a soft, sweet little cake. She instantly liked her.

Rubbing Wen Jiu’s head, Shen Chiyi said gently, “With me here, don’t worry.”

Wen Jiu nodded, finally at ease.

Moments ago, she’d thought she’d end up bleeding in Gangcheng.

“Shen Chiyi, why are you here?!” Shen Xi had been glaring at her the moment she appeared.

Seeing that her attention was all on Wen Jiu, Shen Xi’s heart sank.

Clutching her sleeve, she demanded, “What’s your relationship with her?”

“You?!” Shen Chiyi hadn’t even realized Shen Xi was involved until she heard her voice.

“Yes, me.” Shen Xi crossed her arms and glared.

“You’re just a daughter abandoned by the Shen family. Don’t think showing up here will change anything.”

“Let me tell you, Shen Chiyi—neither you nor that Mainlander can do anything here. One word from me, and you’ll both be out. Just like before!”

Truth be told, Shen Chiyi hadn’t seen her half-sister in a long time.

But no matter how much time passed, Shen Xi’s stupidity never changed—it made her vision go black again and again.

She stepped up to Shen Xi, who looked stunned, raised her hand—and slapped her.

Smack!

Shen Xi’s head jerked to the side, red fingerprints blooming on her cheek.

Shen Chiyi shook out her numb hand from the force.

“That slap is interest—just the beginning.”

“Shen Xi, not everyone is yours to mess with. Be ready to pay for your foolishness, and for what you’ve done in the Shen family’s name.”
