“Divine Doctor Military Wife: Married the Wildest Officer and Had Babies” Chapter 33

Chapter 33: Farewell on Mid-Autumn Festival!

Ning Wanwan shot him an angry glare, then gritted her teeth and said, “Alright, no need to explain. I know you didn’t do it on purpose.”

Time flew by, and soon it was the day before the Mid-Autumn Festival. Over the past few days, Ning Wanwan and He Yunshen had been getting along fairly well.

She had started walking slowly on her own three days ago—exactly on the schedule she had predicted.

Today marked the final day of the free clinic at the market. At 11:30 AM, Ning Wanwan saw off her last patient and asked Xu Cuihua to post the pre-written notice.

In no time, Ning Wanwan’s stall was surrounded by nearby vendors and passersby. Everyone started chattering all at once.

The butcher hesitantly asked, “Dr. Ning, are you not doing the free clinic here anymore?”

Zhang Yun and Li Ping were also helping pack up the stall.

Ning Wanwan nodded with a smile. “That’s right, big brother. I’m leaving this place, so I won’t be able to do free clinics here anymore.”

“Dr. Ning, we’re going to miss you. You’ve helped us so much, and we didn’t even get the chance to properly thank you. Why are you leaving?”

“Yeah, we really don’t want you to go.”

“That’s right, none of us want to say goodbye…”

Seeing that Ning Wanwan looked troubled and didn’t respond, the crowd realized there was no room to change her mind.

One after another, they grabbed goods from their stalls and started stuffing them into the arms of Ning Wanwan and her group.

“Here, Dr. Ning! Last time you insisted on paying when we gave you things—this time, no way! Take this pork, just a little token of appreciation.”

“And mine too! These are homegrown radishes—take them, cook them with some meat!”

“And mine! I hand-stitched these insoles, super comfy. Take them!”

“Here’s mine! Some fresh greens—just something extra for your meals…”

“Hey hey! Don’t push! You’re gonna crush my eggs!”

By the time Ning Wanwan and her group got home, everyone was weighed down with gifts from the vendors.

Zhang Yun and Li Ping walked her to the courtyard gate. Inside the house, He Yunshen saw them carrying all kinds of stuff and immediately stepped out with his long legs.

Seeing the pile of miscellaneous items, he looked at Ning Wanwan in confusion.

She ignored him completely and focused on saying goodbye to Zhang Yun and Li Ping, reminding them to come early tomorrow.

He Yunshen helped the reluctant Ning Wanwan over to the stone table, then took it upon himself to start moving the items.

The top two buttons of his shirt were left undone on purpose, revealing a hint of his sharp collarbone when he leaned down.

The sunlight gleamed on his strong forearms and narrow waist, giving him an aura of sheer strength.

Ning Wanwan’s eyes slowly moved downward, and she secretly gulped.

Paired with his sculpted face and noble temperament, Ning Wanwan had to admit—this man was damn sexy right now.

As he carried things, He Yunshen casually asked, “Why’d you bring so much stuff back?”

“I told the market vendors I won’t be doing free clinics anymore. They insisted on giving me these, and I couldn’t refuse.”

At that, He Yunshen frowned and paused in his movements.

“Why won’t you do clinics anymore?”

Ning Wanwan finally looked him in the eye, clearly not understanding his confusion.

“The divorce application has already been approved. It’s in your room—I saw it today. Let’s go to the Civil Affairs Bureau tomorrow to finalize things.”

“Once we’re divorced, I’m planning to leave. I have a place in the capital, and it’s more convenient to take care of my adoptive and biological parents there.”

He Yunshen’s expression sank, and then he became visibly angry.

“Ning Wanwan, didn’t you say I could pursue you again? Were you lying to me?”

Ning Wanwan looked mischievous and raised her brows proudly at his darkened face.

“I never lied. You can still write to me or call. Or wait until you return to the capital to chase me—either way is fine.”

“Ning Wanwan, you… better not regret this!”

That line was practically squeezed out from between He Yunshen’s teeth—he looked like he wanted to strangle her.

On Mid-Autumn Day, Ning Wanwan got up early to get busy. Two fresh batches of dim sum were already on the table.

He Yunshen had gone to the military base early in the morning for a cultural performance.

Xu Cuihua arrived early too, bringing along Guo Xiaoling. While Xu Cuihua busied herself picking vegetables, Guo Xiaoling cheerfully hung around Ning Wanwan, begging for snacks.

At exactly 9 AM, Zhang Yun and Li Ping arrived with a few other invited military wives.

It was Ning Wanwan’s first time meeting Yang Xugang’s wife, named Feng Shiyu. True to her name, she was gentle and sweet, and also a doctor at the military hospital—so the two got along right away.

Originally, Ning Wanwan hadn’t planned to invite Feng Shiyu, but since He Yunshen wanted to bring Vice Commander Yang Xugang, she decided to invite them as a pair.

With more people, the work went faster. Ning Wanwan placed four kinds of handmade dim sum on the stone table in the yard. The women drank tea and snacked together, enjoying the wonderful atmosphere.

“Wanwan, your sweater dress is beautiful. We always thought black doesn’t suit anyone, but look at you—making us all jealous!”

Li Ping praised while eating, and the others joined in.

“Yeah, it’s gorgeous! I’ve never seen that design before.”

“Right? I’m gonna knit one too. My man’s gonna fall head over heels!”

Ning Wanwan just laughed quietly. Today, she wore a newly-knitted pure black sweater dress. Her dark hair was loosely pinned up, and her curvy figure outshone all the other military wives in a heartbeat.

She had delicate features, fair skin, and rosy lips. In that black dress, she looked like a stunning night elf.

When He Yunshen returned with a group of men around 2 PM, the other military wives had already gone off to prepare dinner. Only Ning Wanwan, still recovering, sat in the courtyard dozing off.

The group of rowdy men instantly quieted upon seeing her, all casting envious looks toward He Yunshen.

His eyes locked onto Ning Wanwan, captivated by how her curves filled out the black sweater dress. She was irresistible to him.

“Ahem ahem…”

Ning Wanwan woke up at the sound and smiled. “You’re back—come in and sit.”

Then she turned and headed inside, with He Yunshen following her closely, his eyes intense.

“Didn’t expect your wife to be this pretty. Commander He sure is lucky,” said Zhang Long, a newly promoted company commander under He Yunshen. Young and tactless, he stared at Ning Wanwan’s back, eyes full of admiration.

Qian Aiguo rolled his eyes, patted Zhang Long’s shoulder, and said, “Kid, watch your mouth. Commander He’s wife just filed for divorce. Don’t say that kind of stuff in front of him.”
