Chapter 20: 70C
Li Qingqing’s eyes widened in shock. “How do you know that?”
Lu Yan didn’t answer her question directly. Instead, he reassured her, “I’ve already covered the medical expenses. I found the best surgeon for your brother. He just came out of surgery and is no longer in critical condition. Once Shen Zhi brings the clothes, I’ll have him drive you to the hospital.”
Li Qingqing was stunned. She looked at him, her eyes filled with complicated emotions.
Maybe this man wasn’t as terrible as she’d thought.
She reopened WeChat and noticed that several hours ago, Chen Suyun had sent her a message:
[Where are you? You said you’ll get the money, but we haven’t seen you.]
Seeing her dumbfounded expression, Lu Yan curled his lips and said, “You’re mine now. Your problems are my problems. If you run into trouble, don’t be polite with me. Honestly, a million yuan to sleep with you for a year? I don’t feel right—I think I’m taking advantage of you.”
The hint of gratitude that had just welled up in Li Qingqing’s heart vanished instantly.
So this man just wanted to feel justified about sleeping with her.
Knock knock.
There was a knock at the office door.
It must be Shen Zhi with the clothes. Lu Yan looked at Li Qingqing, who was still wrapped in a towel, and pointed to the adjoining room. “Go wait in there. I’ll bring the clothes over in a minute.”
Li Qingqing quickly grabbed her tattered clothes from the floor and slipped into the inner room.
Lu Yan opened the door. Shen Zhi handed him a shopping bag through the crack.
“President Lu, do you have any other instructions?”
Lu Yan took the bag and said calmly, “Wait outside for now.”
Shen Zhi nodded, glancing at Lu Yan’s freshly changed outfit, a strange look flashing across his face.
Seven hours straight. His boss really was something else.
Lu Yan entered the inner room and handed the clothes to Li Qingqing. “Everything’s here. Get changed.”
Li Qingqing took the shopping bag and saw five sets of lingerie inside. She picked out her size, put it on, then pulled out a cream-colored dress. It was simply cut but elegant, and paired well with her white canvas shoes. The soft color complemented her fair skin perfectly—she looked like a delicate, juicy peach.
The hemline of the dress revealed a pair of smooth, slender calves. The look was a little mature but still retained a youthful, academic charm. It was the first time she had worn something so pretty. She couldn’t help but admire herself in the mirror again and again.
She turned over the price tag—there was no price listed. But she could tell it wasn’t cheap. Still, she’d already sold herself at this point. If her sugar daddy wanted her to wear it, she would.
After changing, Li Qingqing came out and handed the extra sets of lingerie back to Lu Yan.
“These can be returned. No need to waste them.”
Lu Yan took the bag, glanced inside, and then started rummaging through it. He casually commented, “70C?”
Li Qingqing immediately understood what he meant. Her face turned bright red with embarrassment. “Could you be any more inappropriate?”
Even though she knew Lu Yan was always a little flirtatious with his words, she still couldn’t get used to how blunt he could be.
“You’re actually a C? I thought you were a B,” Lu Yan said with a completely serious expression.
Li Qingqing bit her lip, her face flushed bright red. How could he discuss such things with a straight face?
Lu Yan then called Shen Zhi into the office and handed him the bag. “Take Miss Li to the hospital first, then return this.”
Then he turned to Li Qingqing. “Your brother needs professional care after surgery. I’ve already arranged a nurse. You don’t need to stay at the hospital the whole time. Later, Shen Zhi will take you to your school to pack. Tomorrow, you’ll move into my place.”
Li Qingqing nodded obediently. She hadn’t expected him to consider even her brother’s post-op care. She looked quietly at Lu Yan’s flawless face, unsure of how she felt at the moment.
This man was truly strange. Just a moment ago, he’d shamelessly discussed her bra size. Now he was acting mature and reliable. Her emotions were in turmoil—he was completely unpredictable…
Just as the two were about to leave, Lu Yan stopped them again. “Take the elevator in the back.” He pointed toward the office’s back door.
Lu Yan usually entered through the underground garage and used the private CEO elevator that required fingerprint access. Only he and Shen Zhi could use it.
Li Qingqing was once again stunned. In her eyes, this CEO’s office felt more like some kind of secret intelligence base. So this was what having money was like—you could really do whatever you wanted.
After they left, Lu Yan immediately buried himself in work. There really was a backlog today.
Half an hour later, Shen Zhi drove Lu Yan’s Bentley and dropped Li Qingqing off at Rui’an Hospital. She went straight to the ICU, where Xie Ze had just finished surgery and was lying unconscious, breathing through an oxygen tube.
Li Qingqing looked through the glass window. Her eyes filled with sorrow, but at least Ah Ze was no longer in critical condition.
Staring at her brother’s frail body in the hospital bed, she couldn’t help but think of the man responsible for all this—Xie Hongde.
If it hadn’t been for him, Ah Ze wouldn’t have had a heart attack. That bastard deserved to die. What right did he have to call himself a father?
At that moment, Chen Suyun and Xie Hongde showed up with toiletries.
“You stupid girl, finally decided to show up? Where the hell have you been all day?” Chen Suyun started scolding her instinctively, but when she saw Shen Zhi behind her, she quickly shut up.
Her tone softened. “Um… was it you who hired the nurse?”
Li Qingqing gave her a glance and replied calmly, “Ah Ze just had surgery. He needs professional care. Listen to the nurse—she knows what she’s doing. And try not to argue in front of him. He needs to stay calm.”
She then looked at Xie Hongde. “And one more thing—don’t let that scumbag back into the hospital. Ah Ze had that heart attack because of him.”
Chen Suyun froze. She glanced between Li Qingqing and Xie Hongde, then snapped, “How can you talk to your father like that? He’s your elder!”
“Elder?” Li Qingqing laughed coldly, her eyes rimmed red. She was reminded again of the disgusting thing Xie Hongde had done to her that morning.
She stared into Chen Suyun’s eyes and said, word for word, “He’s my elder? You ask him—does he deserve to be?”
Her voice was hoarse, her finger trembling as she pointed at Xie Hongde.
Li Qingqing clenched her teeth, her small face flushed red. How could this man discuss something so embarrassing with such a straight face?
