Chapter 185: Bullying Me for My Lack of Education
“Next match: Ye Wenxin versus XXX.”
After roughly half an hour, Ye Wenxin’s name was called again. “Ye Meijing” nudged Fairy Fengya awake.
“Hmm?” Fairy Fengya, who had truly been sleeping, seemed still a bit dazed, her eyes reflecting a particularly lazy sparkle.
“It’s your turn.”
“Ye Meijing” pointed towards the stage, explaining to Fairy Fengya why she woke her. Fairy Fengya nodded slightly, then stepped onto the stage. After both sides saluted, Fairy Fengya quickly made her move.
In the next second, Fairy Fengya used the Sword Qi Technique again, defeating her opponent in a single move.
The fight happened too quickly and ended just as fast, but the spectators seemed accustomed to “Ye Wenxin’s” efficiency.
Inwardly, “Ye Meijing” was close to breaking down. She had thought Fairy Fengya would genuinely play the role of Ye Wenxin obediently, but now she knew she was wrong. After all the effort put into creating the alternate character Ye Wenxin, everything was ruined by Fairy Fengya’s portrayal of “Ye Wenxin”.
Even more outrageously, “Ye Meijing” had just changed her position when Fairy Fengya had already returned.
“Instant kill… Master, you overdid it!”
“Oh, I haven’t slept enough yet.”
Fairy Fengya didn’t offer an explanation. She plopped down beside “Ye Meijing”, who was even more unimpressed. “Who are you trying to fool? Cultivators above the Nascent Soul stage don’t need to sleep!”
“But right now, I’m Ye Wenxin,” Fairy Fengya responded, leaning into “Ye Meijing’s” embrace again. This way, she could avoid all the glaring stares, leaving “Ye Meijing” under the spotlight instead.
“Ye Meijing” had given up on figuring out how to handle Fairy Fengya; she decided to indulge her mischievous hands, hugging and touching as she pleased.
However, “Ye Meijing” forgot how aloof Fairy Fengya truly was. No matter what she did, Fairy Fengya remained unmoved.
“Could it be that I can only use my ultimate move?”
“Ye Meijing’s” thoughts grew increasingly mischievous. Just as she was about to extend her naughty hand towards another part of Fairy Fengya, a shout erupted nearby.
“What are you two doing?!” The shout came from a short distance away, where a patrolling elder caught a Dao couple in passionate interaction.
At that moment, “Ye Meijing’s” naughty hand recoiled in fright, ultimately not daring to take the final salacious action.
Fairy Fengya, in “Ye Meijing’s” embrace, sensed her movements. She slightly opened her eyes before quickly closing them again, finding an even more comfortable position to continue enjoying the so-called human emotional interaction.
Zhu Ling: Mistress.
Fairy Fengya: I know.
Zhu Ling: I haven’t said anything yet.
Fairy Fengya: …
Zhu Ling: Mistress, the Tribulation of Emotions can’t be rushed; aren’t you being too eager?
Fairy Fengya: Oh, I’m just trying out what I read in the book.
Zhu Ling: ???
Fairy Fengya: The secret chronicle.
Zhu Ling: Mistress, I think cultivation has messed with your head. How could you trust a book whimsically written by a mortal?
Fairy Fengya: …
Zhu Ling: If you truly want to overcome the Tribulation of Emotions as soon as possible, find a way to make her fall in love with you.
Zhu Ling: I’m not trying to discourage you, Mistress, but Ye Wenxin has the Peach Blossom Curse; just look at how many people came flocking to her in such a short time. If you don’t keep a close watch on her, she might really run off with someone else.
Great-Grandma couldn’t help but start rambling on. Fairy Fengya listened with slight displeasure, her mind seemingly recalling the events that had happened just that morning.
Fairy Fengya no longer wanted to continue talking with Great-Grandma; she lifted her head from “Ye Meijing’s” embrace, only to see “Ye Meijing” engrossed in reading a medical text.
“Slept well, Master?”
The same smile was there, but it didn’t quicken her heartbeat or bring any sense of sweetness, just a deeper sense of everyday calm.
Fairy Fengya was even more perplexed. She thought for a moment and then handed the secret chronicle back to “Ye Meijing”.
“Why the sudden change of heart?”
“Ye Meijing” looked overjoyed, and couldn’t help but start flipping through its pages. Fairy Fengya gave no answer, quietly observing “Ye Meijing’s” changing expressions.
Watching “Ye Meijing” laugh, cry, and get angry as she read the secret chronicle, Fairy Fengya regretted giving her the book so early. Yet, she realized that stopping her wouldn’t change anything.
“Yep, Long Qingyue is still the best,” concluded “Ye Meijing” after finishing the book, even though ninety percent of it was nonsense, she was genuinely moved.
Unfortunately, falsehoods remained false and couldn’t become reality.
“Is Long Qingyue really that good?” Fairy Fengya asked yet again; even “Ye Meijing” had picked up on how unusually talkative she was today.
“Of course she’s good; she’s the best in the world, although…”
“Ye Meijing” was excited to share what had happened with her best friend, but realizing she was talking to Fairy Fengya, she suddenly couldn’t bring herself to speak. If she did, she was afraid Fairy Fengya would follow with another question: ‘What’s your relationship with Long Qingyue?’
Seeing Fairy Fengya’s cold gaze still fixed on her, “Ye Meijing” continued reluctantly, “Although she doesn’t know me… I will definitely become Long Qingyue’s simp!” In order to emphasize her fervor for Long Qingyue, “Ye Meijing” clenched her fists, looking resolute.
“Oh, would it be for a hundred years again?”
“No, no, no, if it’s Long Qingyue, I can love her for ten thousand years!” replied “Ye Meijing” much more earnestly.
Watching as the others began to disperse, she said, “Let’s go, Master. Since you’ve worked so hard today, let me treat you to a meal in the dining hall.”
“I’m not going. I plan to seclude myself in closed-door training.”
After dropping these words, Fairy Fengya swiftly departed. If it weren’t for the lingering warmth on the chair, “Ye Meijing” would have doubted if her entire day had been a dream.
“Oh, closed-door training is great! Then you won’t bother me anymore!” Belatedly realizing this, “Ye Meijing” became ecstatic. Fairy Fengya returned, this time locking eyes with “Ye Meijing”, only to find joy in them, devoid of any additional emotions.
Fairy Fengya couldn’t help but be impressed. “Ye Meijing” could infuriate her to no end, yet she remained blissfully unaware of it.
“Master, why’d you come back?”
Fairy Fengya glanced at the disappointed “Ye Meijing”, and continued, “I’m hungry.”
“Master, are you mocking me for being ignorant again? Nascent Soul cultivators don’t even need to eat.”
“Ye Meijing” stiffened as Fairy Fengya’s fingertip lightly touched her, feeling her press on an acupoint.
As someone who had some medical knowledge, “Ye Meijing” naturally knew that Fairy Fengya was pressing the Mute Point. She realized she was silenced, and didn’t hesitate to take out a silver needle to release the acupoint herself.
