In the pitch-black darkness, two large containers vanished without a trace.
Leaving General’s Hill, Jiang Ning took out the broken car.
She focused on driving, while Huo Yishen kept an eye on their surroundings.
They returned to the villa at four in the morning, and it was still dark outside.
Jiang Ning entered the space and opened the containers. The strong smell of seafood almost knocked her out.
There was a wide variety of freshly caught seafood, including a shark over a meter long and several large octopuses. Overall, the quality was excellent.
Each container could hold 20 tons of seafood, and now they had 40 tons. They were instantly rich!
It was more than enough to last a lifetime.
After leaving the space, Jiang Ning felt puzzled. “Could the threat of death have been too severe for the Haisheng Base to take any action?”
“Two containers of seafood are nothing to them, but we shouldn’t let our guard down.”
Having acquired 40 tons of seafood, Jiang Ning was in a great mood. “Yes, you’re right.”
Huo Yishen chuckled. “Are you sure?”
Jiang Ning was stunned and looked at him.
“How about we stay together?”
Having been together for over a year, Jiang Ning blushed deeply at his suggestion.
She almost threw seafood at his face.
At noon, Qin Chuan arrived as promised. “So, did you receive the goods?”
Jiang Ning prepared shrimp and crab congee for him. “Thanks to your guidance, the goods were delivered and sold, and we made a small profit.”
The congee was a specialty from Qin Chuan’s hometown. The familiar aroma almost made him lose his composure. “This taste, it’s authentic!”
Of course it was! Jiang Ning had worked in a congee shop before and learned from the chef.
Qin Chuan had five bowls and couldn’t stop. “The base commander tried the medicine, and it worked well.”
After he was full, Jiang Ning took out 14 insulin shots. “Tonight at nine, have them refuel the yacht and dock at Butterfly Bay.”
Qin Chuan took them. “No problem, I’ll arrange it.”
Out of friendship, he reminded her, “I haven’t sensed any discontent from the Haisheng Base, but since it’s a big ship, be extra cautious.”
It was too hot, and they were too familiar with each other, so Jiang Ning didn’t bother to move and had the dog see him off.
Panting heavily, the dog closed the door and ran back.
Jiang Ning rewarded it with a piece of watermelon, then discussed with Huo Yishen, “Do you think the Haisheng Base might turn against us?”
Huo Yishen thought for a moment. “Not necessarily, but they might send someone to tail us. Once the drug deal is done, they could take the opportunity to find out who our supplier is or try to take back the ship. We’ll act accordingly when the time comes.”
Indeed, overthinking was pointless. They would deal with whatever came their way.
This time, they didn’t rush to show up and only left the villa at two in the morning.
At the entrance to Butterfly Bay, they confirmed a large, dark figure anchored in the water. They changed into diving suits and swam towards the yacht.
Afraid of surveillance on the shore, Huo Yishen circled to the other side of the ship, used a grappling hook to climb aboard, and then helped Jiang Ning up.
The ship was large, capable of accommodating over a thousand tourists with facilities for eating, drinking, playing, and living. The deck had a swimming pool and other entertainment options, while the interior had rooms ranging from economy to luxury.
While Jiang Ning examined the interior, Huo Yishen observed the coastline through the room’s windows.
The water in Butterfly Bay was deep, and the yacht was only about a hundred meters from the shore.
At this distance… Huo Yishen frowned.
Jiang Ning walked over. “What’s wrong?”
“We’re being watched.”
If the cruise ship gets too close to the coast, it’s easy to hit a reef, and turning around becomes extremely difficult. Any experienced sailor wouldn’t do this unless they intended to follow secretly.
After all, if the ship was too far, even night-vision binoculars would be ineffective.
Jiang Ning took out binoculars and asked, “How many people?”
Huo Yishen didn’t respond; his attention was fixed on the opposite shore as he tried to locate the hiding spots of their observers.
This might be challenging for others, but it was Huo Yishen’s specialty. Years of dealing with dangerous criminals had honed his ability to find hiding spots quickly and make precise judgements.
His eyes were as sharp as an eagle’s.
He soon spotted their observers but didn’t act immediately. After careful repeated observation and ensuring there were no other hidden threats, he finally spoke to Jiang Ning, “Get the assault rifle.”
A handgun’s range and power were insufficient.
Jiang Ning handed him the assault rifle and asked, “Can you hit them?”
Huo Yishen attached a silencer and said, “I’ll try my best.”
“How many are there?”
“Two.”
Just two? They were probably tailing them, tracking who would take the ship.
Since they were here, they wouldn’t easily let go. Jiang Ning couldn’t retrieve the ship without risk.
If the secret of the space was exposed, the danger would be unimaginable.
Fortunately, they were cautious enough. In the dark, they were hard to see from a distance, making it impossible for the observers to pinpoint their exact location on the ship.
But could Huo Yishen manage? Even though he was a professional, the distance was significant.
Jiang Ning held her breath to avoid affecting his aim.
Huo Yishen aimed and pulled the trigger.
With the silencer, the sound was muffled, but Jiang Ning’s heart was still in her throat.
A few seconds later, the second shot rang out.
Three minutes later, Huo Yishen lowered the gun and said, “Anning, retrieve the yacht.”
Jiang Ning, along with the ship, entered the space.
As soon as she entered, her body collapsed heavily to the ground…
Huo Yishen quickly caught her, his voice filled with concern. “What’s wrong?”
Jiang Ning felt dizzy, his shadow overlapping in front of her eyes.
She leaned into his arms, taking a moment to recover. “I’m fine. This thing is too big; it almost drained my mental energy.”
She had worried about not being able to fit it in, but it barely made it.
Huo Yishen carried her to the bed to rest, found an energy drink in the bag, and opened the bottle cap.
After drinking, Jiang Ning ate two pieces of chocolate, complaining as she ate, “Not as tasty as the ones you gave me.”
Huo Yishen smiled. “I might have some left. I’ll look for them later.”
Feeling a bit better, Jiang Ning took out the inflatable boat and said, “I wonder if anyone saw us. Let’s leave quickly.”
They donned bulletproof vests and masks before exiting the space.
Huo Yishen took on the task of paddling to avoid tiring her.
Jiang Ning remained vigilant and did not relax for a moment.
The mental exhaustion left Jiang Ning’s legs shaky when they reached the shore.
Huo Yishen squatted in front of her and said, “Get on.”
Jiang Ning hesitated, then climbed onto his back.
In the dark, Huo Yishen carried her up the steep shore, pushing through low shrubs.
Lying on his broad back, Jiang Ning’s heart was beating fast. “Huo Yishen, am I heavy?”
“No.”
Not heavy? Then carry me for a lifetime, she thought silently.
