Back to the 80s to Remarry and the Cold Faced Big Shot Panicked Chapter 2

Chapter 2: This man is out of her reach!

Yu Jingchuan regained a moment of clarity, his face dark as he sneered, “Isn’t this what you wanted?”

Lin Yitang ignored the man’s icy gaze, her heart filled with overwhelming surprise. She had been reborn!

She would never forget this day, the day she drugged Yu Jingchuan, the day she married him.

The pain of her past life was vivid, and the root of it all was the accident she had created today.

Heaven had been kind to her, giving her a second chance. Lin Yitang wept with emotion.

This life, she would never marry Yu Jingchuan. Falling in love with him was her biggest regret!

“What are you crying for?”

Yu Jingchuan hadn’t expected Lin Yitang to suddenly burst into tears. His brows furrowed, revealing a hint of impatience.

“I’m sorry, I was reckless. I promise I won’t bother you again. You… you deal with it yourself.”

After saying this, Lin Yitang quickly got dressed and got out of bed. Her movements were so swift that a flash of her chest was revealed, blindingly white.

Before Yu Jingchuan could figure out what Lin Yitang was up to, she had already fled his room.

Lin Yitang was gone, but the burning sensation in his body returned, even more intense, making it harder for him to bear. He went into the bathroom, the cold water falling on him, but unable to soothe the turmoil within him.

Yu Jingchuan unconsciously recalled the soft, smooth touch he had just felt, the woman’s fair, delicate body. His desire intensified. He threw his head back, letting out a rough gasp, the sound of the water in the bathroom growing louder…

Back in her own room, Lin Yitang immediately went to the mirror.

The person in the mirror had a pointed, oval face, large, bright eyes, long eyelashes that held an indescribable charm, a straight nose, and full, rosy lips. Her beautiful and charming appearance was striking.

It was really her at 19!

Her eyes were not yet weary, she hadn’t been worn down by marriage into a crazed, senile housewife.

Lin Yitang covered her mouth and wept, but her face held a smile, because now, everything was still salvageable.

Her mother had died young, and she had lived with her father since childhood.  Fortunately, her father was a soldier, and his salary and allowances were sufficient for the two of them.

Until the age of 18, Lin Yitang had been doted on by her father. But her father had died on a mission a year ago, leaving her completely orphaned.

Yu Jianguo, her father’s superior officer, took pity on her and brought her into the Yu family to help care for his wife, Chu Peilan.

Chu Peilan was also a soldier, but she had suffered serious injuries on a mission years ago, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down and needing constant companionship.

That’s how Lin Yitang entered the Yu family. However, the Yu family had dedicated caregivers for Chu Peilan, so Lin Yitang mainly kept Chu Peilan company.

Ultimately, Yu Jianguo was looking after the daughter of his old comrade in arms.

In her past life, living in the Yu family, she fell in love with Yu Jingchuan at first sight. Yu Jingchuan was the eldest son of Yu Jianguo and Chu Peilan, the most famous soldier in the entire military compound, a young man who had risen to the rank of battalion commander through his own merit, with a promising future.

Lin Yitang, having been pampered since childhood and blessed with good looks, had high expectations. She longed to marry an excellent man, and Yu Jingchuan was her ideal choice. So, after entering the Yu family, she frequently showed her affection for Yu Jingchuan, devoting her heart to this man, but only receiving coldness in return.

In her previous life, to be with Yu Jingchuan, she resorted to unscrupulous means, drugging him while he was on leave.

After they had relations, Lin Yitang forced Yu Jingchuan to marry her. She thought she would have a good life, but instead, she received her husband’s coldness and aversion, and the criticism and abuse of others. Every day after the wedding was filled with heartache and pain.

For five years of marriage, Yu Jingchuan rarely spoke to her, and seldom touched her, but when he did, it was exceptionally brutal, as if he was venting his disgust and resentment.

She thought that if she showed Yu Jingchuan her true feelings, he would eventually accept her, but she was wrong.

Yu Jingchuan’s heart had long been given to someone else.

In everyone’s eyes, her husband and Xia Zhuxin were a perfect match, and she was just a meddlesome clown, unworthy of comparison with Xia Zhuxin.

For her husband, there was always another woman who was more important.

Her marriage was not the beginning of her happiness, but the beginning of her misery.

Thinking of the scene of lying on the cold operating table in her past life, Lin Yitang still felt a dull ache in her lower abdomen, a pain that seemed to linger in her soul.

Five years, five whole years, and it ended with her and her child’s life as the price. Lin Yitang finally understood that feelings cannot be forced.

Reliving her life, she would completely sever her feelings for Yu Jingchuan and stay as far away from him as possible.

This man, she couldn’t afford.

She wiped away her tears, her eyes shining brighter.

Lin Yitang looked down at the bold, revealing tight-fitting miniskirt she was wearing, the one she had specifically chosen to seduce Yu Jingchuan. She quickly took it off and found a simple light yellow dress in her closet.

Sitting at her desk, Lin Yitang began to think about her future. She needed to leave the Yu family as soon as possible.

But the biggest problem now was that she had no money.

Her father had left her a pension, but she had spent it all on clothes and cosmetics.

Now she only had two yuan left. Lin Yitang sighed. To leave the Yu family, she needed at least enough money to rent a place and live for a short time.

The Yu family had been kind to her, giving her thirty yuan a month, but she had just received this month’s pay, and it wasn’t enough.

But soon, Lin Yitang’s eyes lit up.

It was 1982, the country’s development was just beginning, and many people were starting small businesses. She could try that too!

Without capital, she would start with a food stall!

She took out a notebook and began to write down her money-making plan. Two hours later, Lin Yitang had perfected the plan, and it was time for dinner.

She was hesitating whether to go downstairs when she heard Aunt Zhang’s voice outside.

“Yitang, someone is looking for you, they say it’s your cousin!”

Cousin? Lin Yitang was stunned for a few seconds, then a cold look flashed in her eyes.

Although her mother had died young, she had always been close to her maternal uncle’s family, and her relationship with her cousin Liu Xiaotong had always been good.

In her previous life, after marrying Yu Jingchuan, she had asked many people for help to get Liu Xiaotong a job as a teacher at a middle school.

Liu Xiaotong then married a businessman and her life got better and better, eventually becoming a billionaire’s wife.

But Lin Yitang truly considered Liu Xiaotong a sister, yet Liu Xiaotong didn’t reciprocate. She not only joined others in mocking Lin Yitang, saying she wasn’t good enough for Yu Jingchuan, but also deliberately slandered her behind her back.

Lin Yitang hadn’t forgotten this ungrateful woman. She remembered that Liu Xiaotong had indeed come to see her around this time in her past life, seemingly to borrow money.

A cold smile played on her lips as she opened the door and went out.

The Yu family lived in a two-story building with a large yard in front. Lin Yitang went downstairs, through the yard, and out the front gate, where she saw Liu Xiaotong.

“Cousin!”

Liu Xiaotong ran over, smiling, and affectionately linked arms with Lin Yitang.  Looking around to make sure no one else was present, she asked, “So? Cousin, did you and Yu Jingchuan make it?”

Lin Yitang looked at Liu Xiaotong calmly, her bright eyes seeming to see right through her.

Speaking of which, she had dared to drug Yu Jingchuan, an idea suggested by Liu Xiaotong.

In her past life, she had thought Liu Xiaotong was helping her, but now, looking back, Liu Xiaotong probably had ulterior motives.

“No, don’t mention it again.”

“How could it not work? Was the drug ineffective? Next time I’ll get you a stronger one! Cousin, don’t be discouraged. You can’t always chase after a man, you have to learn to play hard to get!”

“Really?”

“Of course. But it’s good that you only let Yu Jingchuan have it once, he’ll definitely be less interested in you. You need to cool him off a bit.”

Liu Xiaotong spoke softly, but Yu Jingchuan, a former scout, heard every word.

He had just finished his cold shower, his body still cold. He had intended to return to his unit, but as he walked into the yard, he overheard the two cousins’ conversation.

His face instantly turned frosty. So that’s why Lin Yitang had suddenly run away, she had been planning this!

Playing hard to get?

He had seen through her little scheme long ago!

Yu Jingchuan turned and went back inside, having no interest in listening to the rest of the conversation.
