Chapter 22: Do you like Lin Yitang?
Watching the woman’s back, Yu Jingchuan felt inexplicably irritated.
Hearing Lin Yitang’s laughter from the ward made him even more suffocated.
He didn’t go back into the ward; he didn’t want to see Chen Xiuyuan’s irritatingly foolish expression!
Lin Yitang didn’t stay at the hospital long. After saying goodbye to Chen Xiuyuan and the others, she returned to the Yu family’s home with the food container.
Chu Peilan, having heard from Zhang about her injury, questioned her carefully. Learning she had been held hostage, she felt a pang of fear.
“Don’t go out alone at night. Let Jingchuan accompany you.”
Lin Yitang chuckled, avoiding the topic. Let Yu Jingchuan accompany her? No way. He might think she had ulterior motives.
Chu Peilan shook her head helplessly. She felt she should talk to Yu Jingchuan, urging him to stop being so prejudiced against Lin Yitang.
Lin Yitang didn’t go to her stall that day. Making cold skin and noodles took time, and she didn’t have enough time left. She focused on her cream.
She made ten jars, pricing them at five yuan each. This was the price she had carefully considered. She would try selling them in a couple of days.
If they sold well, she could launch other products.
She also needed to study the medicinal food recipes; they might be useful later.
Lin Yitang didn’t plan to sell cold skin and noodles forever. They were refreshing, but only sold in summer.
They were also troublesome to make, with low profit margins. She had started with them because they were cheap and easy to sell.
She needed to save capital for future businesses.
Lin Yitang planned to stop selling cold skin and noodles after summer. A few months would be enough to save money and find customers for her skincare products.
Lin Yitang was confident. With consistent effort, she would open a shop soon!
Thinking this, Lin Yitang diligently studied the two books from her space.
Over the next few days, Lin Yitang visited Chen Xiuyuan whenever she had time, bringing him medicinal soup.
Chen Xiuyuan was delighted, his wound healing quickly, surprising even the doctor.
Learning about the medicinal soup, the doctor wasn’t as surprised; medicinal food had medicinal effects.
Chen Xiuyuan’s strong constitution also contributed to his quick recovery.
Chen Xiuyuan was grateful to Lin Yitang, his gaze increasingly ardent.
Comrade Lin was so kind; she must have feelings for him. Once he recovered, he would confess his feelings.
Lin Yitang didn’t know what Chen Xiuyuan was thinking. She brought him medicinal food because she felt guilty about his injury and wanted to test the efficacy.
The recipes were effective, making Lin Yitang realize the value of the books in her space.
Seeing Chen Xiuyuan finish the soup, she was about to leave when Yu Jingchuan entered.
“Commander Yu!”
Yu Jingchuan glanced at Chen Xiuyuan and then at Lin Yitang, noting her frequent hospital visits.
“Comrade Chen, I’ll go now.”
Lin Yitang didn’t want to see Yu Jingchuan’s face. She left, leaving the two men in silence.
Chen Xiuyuan mustered the courage to ask Yu Jingchuan, “Commander Yu, you know Comrade Lin. Do you know what she likes?”
Yu Jingchuan sat beside his bed, asking sternly, “Do you like Lin Yitang?”
“I… I… like her.”
Chen Xiuyuan was embarrassed but confessed his feelings.
“Give up. You and Lin Yitang aren’t suitable. She’s cunning and not a good match for you.”
Even he had almost fallen for Lin Yitang’s tricks.
Chen Xiuyuan’s face changed. “Commander Yu, Comrade Lin isn’t like that. She’s a good girl. You’re prejudiced!”
Yu Jingchuan felt suffocated.
He thought Lin Yitang was skillful; she had captivated Chen Xiuyuan in a short time.
“Commander Yu, what does Comrade Lin really like?”
Chen Xiuyuan asked again.
Yu Jingchuan felt a headache and left the ward. He had planned to return to the barracks but changed his mind and went home.
At the entrance, he heard laughter.
Lin Yitang was talking to Chu Peilan. They were getting along well; his mother treated Lin Yitang like a daughter.
Chu Peilan was surprised to see her eldest son.
“Why are you back? Don’t you have training?”
“Training’s finished.”
Yu Jingchuan’s gaze fell on Lin Yitang. She wore a simple white shirt, black cropped pants, and white sneakers.
The youthful style suited her slender figure. Even in simple clothes, her figure was evident.
Yu Jingchuan felt the heat and withdrew his gaze, drinking a large glass of water.
Lin Yitang was giving Chu Peilan acupuncture and massage when Yu Chengyu entered.
“It’s hot! I want ice cream!”
Chu Peilan told Yu Chengyu, who ran to the kitchen, “There’s some in the fridge. Get one for Yitang too.”
“No way. Let her get her own!”
“Chengyu!”
Chu Peilan glared at her daughter.
Yu Chengyu pouted, glared at Lin Yitang, and turned to Yu Jingchuan.
“Brother, Sister Zhuxin’s birthday is the day after tomorrow. We promised to celebrate it together. You haven’t forgotten, right?”
Xia Zhuxin’s birthday?
Lin Yitang lowered her eyes, remembering her birthday was the day after.
