Chapter 13
Up until now, it still didn’t understand what exactly was going on!
Could it be related to the rumor it had made up about Lu Yanchén malfunctioning?
“Dear, get a grip. There’s no way Lu Yanchén would ever like you.”
It panicked!
The dog system panicked!
It looked like her guess was correct?
Song Si’s rosy lips curved slightly. “Really? I’m the rebellious type—if Dahuang says that, then I just have to give it a try.”
System: “You… zzz… zzzz…”
Song Si said with interest, “Dahuang, let’s make a deal. You give me some of the original host’s past information, and some detailed info on Lu Yanchén. Once I learn programming, I’ll help you upgrade the system. How about it?”
System: “ZZZZ!!!”
It was furious!
Why did it end up with such a completely defiant female lead?
It nearly lost control of its emotions. “I told you already, even if you don’t bind with me, you can’t go back! Without my help, in this unfamiliar era, you’ll have a terrible time—betrayed by all, and die without a complete body. Think about it again!”
Song Si said quietly, “Get lost.”
She had never really expected its help. Just getting a little information was enough.
The system’s story ‘70s Era: The Virtuous Supporting Female’s Growth Journey’ had changed. Song Nian was probably about to try to steal Lu Yanchén, right?
After washing up, she applied the Palace Lantern Almond Cream she bought earlier to her face and body, then went to bed.
Tonight was still her first night in the 1970s.
…
The next morning, Lu Yanchén, who hadn’t slept well all night, went early to the cafeteria to get breakfast. When he returned to the dorm, Song Si was still asleep.
He placed the breakfast quietly on the table and glanced in her direction, his black eyes full of complex emotions. He touched her little underwear draped on the back of the chair—it wasn’t dry yet. Leaning to the side, he closed his eyes to rest.
When Song Si woke up, she saw him sleeping in the chair. She got up gently, fetched a blanket, and draped it over him.
As soon as he smelled a fragrance, Lu Yanchén woke up instantly. Without opening his eyes, he reflexively grabbed her wrist tightly.
“Ouch!”
Song Si lost her balance and fell into his arms.
Hearing the familiar voice, Lu Yanchén immediately loosened his grip and opened his eyes. He quietly gazed at the girl’s beautiful face, now so close. One hand instinctively circled her waist, pulling her closer.
Song Si’s breath landed right near his own.
Lu Yanchén quickly had a reaction and asked hoarsely, “Hungry?”
Song Si: “Mm!”
He withdrew his hand from her waist.
Song Si stood up straight. “You didn’t sleep well last night?”
Lu Yanchén: “Mm.”
Song Si: “Want to sleep on the bed?”
Lu Yanchén glanced at the blanket on him.
Did she just cover him with that?
Song Si looked at the breakfast on the table. “It’s probably cold by now? I’ll go heat it up. Or should we eat first and then you sleep?”
Lu Yanchén: “Okay.”
She had never taken the initiative to do these things before!
In fact, they’d hardly spent any real time alone together—could count the days on one hand.
He nodded and stood up. “I’ll go heat it.”
He lived in a single dorm. Normally, he ate at the army cafeteria and didn’t have any kitchen tools.
Song Si noticed this too.
How was he going to heat it up?
Soon, she saw Lu Yanchén pour hot water from a thermos into a clean basin, then place the lunchboxes inside.
After a while, the food was warm.
Lu Yanchén gave her the chair and grabbed a small stool for himself, sitting beside her to eat breakfast together.
The entire time, he was very quiet.
Song Si’s bright eyes kept sweeping over him.
She wondered what he thought about what had happened yesterday?
She couldn’t read anything from his face.
Lu Yanchén felt her gaze but kept his head down, eating, not daring to meet her eyes—because the fire inside him was burning strong.
Last night, he ran ten laps with weights on the training field, then stayed overnight at Deputy Commander Zhang’s home. Still, he couldn’t stop thinking about her and barely slept at all.
After they finished eating, Song Si nudged his arm. “Go take a nap?”
Lu Yanchén’s voice was hoarse. “I can’t sleep now. I’ll take a walk.”
Hearing his tone, Song Si instinctively glanced at his waist.
Lu Yanchén immediately stiffened like steel.
She really wasn’t your typical bold woman!
He turned to leave, but Song Si hugged him from behind. “Honey, that medicine you gave me last night worked really well.”
Lu Yanchén looked down at the hands around his waist, then gripped her wrist and in one swift move lifted her into his arms.
Song Si wrapped her arms around his neck.
Lu Yanchén supported her with one hand under her bottom, walked forward a few steps, and pulled the curtains with the other. Before he could do anything else, the woman in his arms was already kissing him passionately.
He didn’t hold back either—setting her on the table, one hand wrapped around her waist, pulling her into him, while he kissed her back.
Only when Song Si finally let go did he ask hoarsely, “It really doesn’t hurt anymore?”
Song Si: “Mm.”
She leaned against the window and reached to unbuckle his belt.
Lu Yanchén’s breathing grew heavy, his Adam’s apple twitching with tension.
He really hadn’t known her before!
She was definitely not the usual kind of…
Very quickly, the two became closely entangled, their breaths blending into one.
…
Two hours later, he carried her to the bed and tucked her in. His body felt a satisfaction he had never known before. “Want to take a shower?”
Song Si was limp like she had been fished out of hot water. “Mm.”
Lu Yanchén gave her a deep look. “I’ll go run the hot water.”
He used to think stories in the residential area about couples having marital issues because of incompatibility in this area were exaggerated. Now, he finally understood—being in sync really did matter.
Song Si: “Mm. After, let’s go to the educated youth spot.”
The educated youth spot?
Lu Yanchén’s expression changed instantly, his dark eyes landing on her face.
Song Si said, “I need to get some things from where I was living. I’d like to stay here for a while.”
Lu Yanchén responded with a deep, sexy “Mm.” “I’ll put in a report tomorrow and apply for a family room.”
Apply for a family room?
Was that his way of choosing her?
Song Si hooked her arm around his neck, kissed his sensual lips, and whispered, “Go run the water.”
Lu Yanchén: “Mm.”
The military area provided hot water uniformly—it was fast. In less than two minutes, he was back.
Song Si called out playfully, “I’ve got no strength left. Carry me.”
Lu Yanchén bent down, let her hook her arms around his neck, picked her up, and grabbed her slippers on the way.
When they got to the bathroom, he set her down on the slippers. “If you need anything, call me.”
Song Si: “Okay.”
Half an hour later, she came out wrapped in Lu Yanchén’s bath towel. Feeling a bit cold, she sneezed.
Lu Yanchén frowned slightly, picked up the blanket, walked over, wrapped her in it, and carried her to the bed. Then he went outside to get the clothes he had hung up the night before.
Some were hers from yesterday, some were new. He had washed them all.
Bringing the clothes to the bed, he asked, “Which set do you want to wear?”
Song Si chose a pair of wool blend trousers, a white blouse, and a black cashmere coat. “These.”
As she picked up the coat, she noticed the bra inside.
He was pretty good at hanging clothes!
But since it had been inside, it wasn’t completely dry.
Lu Yanchén touched it and frowned. “What should we do?”
Song Si remembered that she had seen an Eastling brand hairdryer for sale yesterday. “It’s fine, I’ll just blow-dry it.”
“I’ll do it.”
Lu Yanchén found the hairdryer and sat beside her, carefully drying the bra.
Song Si watched his focused expression and felt this moment was wonderful—exactly the kind of husband she had dreamed of, the kind of married life she wanted.
She hoped the original host’s parents wouldn’t come too soon. She wanted to take time to develop their relationship.
Just as she was about to speak, a knock came at the door.
Lu Yanchén touched the bra—dry now—and handed it to Song Si. “I’ll go check.”
He walked to the door, opened it, and saw that it was the head officer’s orderly, Xiao Liu. He pulled the curtain down and blocked the doorway with his body.
Xiao Liu: “Captain Lu, Miss Song’s parents have arrived. They’re already at the educated youth station. Secretary Wang called the head officer, and he told me to let you and Miss Song know to head over and contact him immediately if anything comes up.”
