This woman was really bold. She was in his house and still had the nerve to lock him out of the bedroom? If it weren’t for her “performance” earlier being somewhat satisfactory, Lu Yan would’ve kicked the door down and dragged her out already.
“Do we really have to sleep together?”
Li Qingqing clearly wasn’t thrilled about his suggestion.
“If you don’t open this door right now, believe me—I’ll mess you up so bad you won’t be able to get out of bed tomorrow morning.”
Lu Yan issued a final warning, his voice full of dangerous intent.
That threat snapped her awake immediately. She shot up from the bed and obediently unlocked the door.
How was this man never tired? She was seriously about to drop dead from exhaustion.
Lu Yan stood leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, looking at her with a cocky sneer. “Hiding away and locking yourself in your room—what were you up to?”
Li Qingqing looked at him helplessly, practically on the verge of tears.
“Bro, it’s already two in the morning. What else could I be doing besides sleeping?”
Lu Yan raised an eyebrow, completely unfazed. “Two a.m. is late?”
Li Qingqing: “It’s not?”
Lu Yan: “Didn’t expect it—you actually have a pretty healthy sleep schedule.”
Li Qingqing: “I value my life, thanks.”
“From now on, you sleep with me. Got it?”
Lu Yan suddenly dropped his teasing tone and gave a sharp warning. “Don’t make me come drag you every night.”
Though reluctant, Li Qingqing nodded obediently. “Got it…”
After being tormented most of the night, she simply couldn’t take it anymore. The moment she lay down in Lu Yan’s bed, she fell sound asleep. Say what you will—his bed was definitely more comfortable than hers. She wondered what kind of luxury bedding he used…
—
The next morning, when Li Qingqing slowly woke up, she felt disoriented.
Where was she again?
…Oh, right.
This was Lu Yan’s apartment.
And she had officially become his sugar baby.
As images from the previous night flooded her mind, a mess of emotions welled up inside her.
How did she even end up like this…?
The space beside her was empty—where was Lu Yan?
Just as she was wondering, Lu Yan walked in wearing only a towel wrapped around his waist.
His wet hair was casually tousled, and for once, he looked less like the aloof, ascetic type and more like a relaxed, youthful guy. There was something strangely cute about him like this.
Her gaze drifted downward. His Adam’s apple still glistened with droplets of water, radiating a raw masculine allure. Below that were his collarbones, toned chest, rock-hard abs, and the towel loosely slung low around his waist…
Lu Yan’s model-perfect body was fully on display in front of her. It was the first time she had really looked at him like this.
And last night… she had been with this body…
The thought made Li Qingqing’s cheeks flush uncontrollably.
“Do you like what you see?”
Lu Yan raised an eyebrow and smirked, his gaze full of unspoken mischief.
Li Qingqing quickly turned her head away, pretending to study the wall.
“If you haven’t had your fill, feel free to get a closer look,” he teased. And with that, his large hands reached under the blanket and gripped her delicate ankle, yanking her toward him.
Just as he was about to climb over her, Li Qingqing yelped in panic, pressing her hands against his firm chest.
“I haven’t brushed my teeth yet!”
Lu Yan paused, then let go of her ankle and scooped her up in one smooth motion. “Then let’s go shower first.”
“I—I can go on my own! No need to trouble you, President Lu,” she stammered, squirming out of his arms and darting into the bathroom.
The bathroom was still filled with lingering steam from his earlier shower, and the scent of his body wash clung faintly in the air.
Li Qingqing looked at herself in the mirror—those hickeys from yesterday still hadn’t faded, and now there were even more.
Just the thought of living with him every single day from now on made her a little resistant.
Was every 27-year-old man this intense…?
To be honest, after last night, Li Qingqing had already taken a shower. Plus, she wasn’t in the habit of bathing in the morning… Her family had always been poor, and they could only afford one shower a day.
She glanced at the time. It was still early before work, so she turned on the shower and gave herself a quick rinse.
When she came out of the bathroom, Lu Yan was already lying on the bed waiting for her. Li Qingqing stood at the bedroom door, clearly not planning to go in.
Lu Yan said impatiently, “Do I have to come over and carry you in? Can’t you have a little self-awareness?”
Li Qingqing awkwardly replied, “Well… my period just started…”
“…”
Lu Yan’s face visibly darkened. But seeing that she did look a little pale, he didn’t push her further—though he was clearly disappointed.
Li Qingqing returned to her room, changed clothes, and got ready for work. When she came out, she was surprised to see Lu Yan still standing in the living room. He hadn’t left yet and looked like he was waiting for her.
As she passed by, she asked timidly, “You haven’t left yet?”
Lu Yan nodded toward the door and said, “I’ll drive you.”
“Ah… no need, I can take the subway…” Li Qingqing instinctively refused.
“Isn’t it true that women feel weaker during their periods? I’ll drive you to work for the next few days. No arguing.”
Lu Yan arrogantly rejected her rejection.
Before she could come up with another excuse, he had already grabbed her wrist and pulled her out the door.
With no other choice—he was her financial backer now—Li Qingqing could only bite the bullet and get into his car.
As they neared the hospital, Li Qingqing hurriedly said, “You can drop me off at the intersection up ahead, thanks.”
Lu Yan sneered, “Why? Afraid someone will see me dropping you off?”
Her little secret had been exposed so quickly. She lowered her head, her face burning with embarrassment, too ashamed to deny it.
The car rolled to a stop right in front of Shian Hospital. Unfortunately, Mu Xingyi happened to be standing at the entrance and immediately recognized Lu Yan’s car. Curious, he walked over.
Lu Yan rolled down the window, revealing his distinguished and handsome face.
“It is you,” Mu Xingyi greeted him. “Feeling unwell, President Lu? What brings you to the hospital so early?”
As he spoke, he noticed a familiar silhouette seated next to Lu Yan.
“Qingqing?”
Mu Xingyi looked stunned. He clearly hadn’t expected to see Li Qingqing in Lu Yan’s car.
Li Qingqing had initially tried to use her purse to shield her face, but Lu Yan pushed it down with a firm hand. With no choice, she forced a stiff smile and greeted him awkwardly, “…Good morning, Master.”
The moment she said that, she felt an icy gaze locking onto her.
Suddenly, she remembered his rule: Never call Mu Xingyi “Master” in front of him.
Li Qingqing panicked. She wanted to get out of the car and escape, but Lu Yan grabbed her wrist before she could move.
Mu Xingyi immediately noticed the strange atmosphere between the two. His face went cold.
“You two? …President Lu, what brings you to drop Qingqing off at work?”
He tried hard to suppress the displeasure in his heart, hoping Lu Yan would give him a reasonable explanation.
