Chapter 3: Marriage

Qin Sui patted Qin Keke’s head, “Keke, don’t be impolite.”

Qin Keke remained silent, even burying her head in Qin Sui’s arms, directly rejecting Lin Su with her actions.

Qin Sui felt a little embarrassed. He thought Lin Su would be angry, but she wasn’t.

“It’s okay, children are like this,” Lin Su said, taking a candy from her pocket and dangling it in front of Qin Keke. “Keke, do you want candy?”

Children have little immunity to candy. Qin Keke raised her head and glanced at Lin Su.

Lin Su carefully held Qin Keke. She was so soft and smelled of milk.

Qin Keke had peed!

“Qin Keke, you did that on purpose!”

Qin Sui knew his daughter’s temperament. Usually, when she needed to pee, she would actively ask someone to help her take off her pants. This time, she actually just peed like that. It didn’t make sense unless it was intentional.

Qin Sui frowned, wanting to take Qin Keke to discipline her, but Lin Su stopped him.

Lin Su said gently, while taking off Qin Keke’s pants and wiping her clean with a clean handkerchief.

She didn’t dislike the child and even actively helped.  She should be able to take good care of them after they get married.

“Bang.” The sound of the door closing brought Lin Su’s thoughts back. After regaining her senses, Lin Su realized that Qin Sui had already gone out.

After a long while, her heart was still pounding nervously.

“Aren’t you going to sleep?” Seeing her discomfort, Qin Sui spoke first.

Lin Su blinked and looked at the only bed in the room, “How do we sleep?”

“Lie down and sleep.”

“Are we going to sleep together?” Lin Su asked tentatively.

Qin Sui smiled, “I’ll sleep on the floor.”

His bright white teeth were very dazzling under the dim candlelight.

Lin Su’s heart beat a little faster. She quickly calmed down and looked around for something.

“I’ll do it myself.” Qin Sui opened the cabinet, took out the bedding, and spread it out.

His height and aura were too oppressive, Lin Su couldn’t get started and could only watch from the side.

Seeing Qin Sui step back, she followed suit, and accidentally bumped into the edge of the bed and was about to fall when a hand suddenly reached out and hooked her waist.

Immediately afterward, Lin Su fell into a broad and masculine embrace, mixed with some smell of alcohol, not unpleasant, but not very pleasant either.

Finding her brows furrowed, Qin Sui quickly let go, “Sorry, I just saw you were about to fall.”

Lin Su was stunned, then her face turned unnatural as she sat there in a daze.

Qin Sui was very drunk and didn’t notice Lin Su’s expression. After washing up, he lay down and fell asleep.

When Lin Su woke up, Qin Sui had already left for the army. Before leaving, he specifically told his family to let Lin Su sleep a little longer.

But because of this marriage, the family was already full of anger. When he left, who would care about that?

It was only a little past six o’clock when a thunderous shout rang out in the yard.

“Damn it, it’s already past sunrise and you still don’t know how to get up. Early in the morning, do you really want me to wait on you?”

“Qin Sui, you heartless man, I kindly cooked noodles for you, and you only care about your wife and told me not to disturb her.”

This voice was clearly Qin’s mother.

“Your mother-in-law is angry. Lin Su, aren’t you getting up yet?”

The loud voice hurt people’s ears. This was Liu Yan, Qin’s eldest brother’s wife’s voice.

Each one of them had their own unique characteristics.

Lin Su irritably rubbed her temples, got up, opened the door, and stared at Liu Yan.

“What are you looking at? Let me tell you, new daughters-in-law have to…”

Lin Su ignored her and walked straight out, went to Qin’s mother with a bad temper, “I’m weak and cherish my life. I won’t be like Qin Sui’s ex-wife, letting people hit me without fighting back and scold me without answering back. If you dare to bully me, I’ll go to the Women’s Federation and report your Qin family for abusing your daughter-in-law.”

“It’s useless to shut my mouth. Unless you kill me and prevent me from going out, otherwise, I’ll do what I say!”

The whole family was stunned by Lin Su’s momentum.

Lin Su wasn’t finished yet, “It’s too early now. Call me when it’s time for a meal.”

Seeing her mother-in-law’s face change and about to scold her, she immediately interrupted, “I’m weak and sickly. If I don’t get enough sleep, my heart won’t be able to take it. If I die on your first day here, I’ll see if your Qin family can still be people in the village!”

Then she went back to sleep.

Liu Yan was so shocked that her mouth dropped open. This sister-in-law was too bold.

She turned to her mother-in-law, hoping that her mother-in-law would put down the other party’s arrogance!

But the mother-in-law, who usually wouldn’t let anyone off, just grumbled a few words and then stopped.

Huh? That’s it?

Liu Yan couldn’t believe it.

When the family cooked breakfast, Qin’s mother deliberately didn’t ask anyone to call Lin Su, but the person came by herself, smelling the food.

Qin’s mother was about to lose her temper when Qin’s father coughed to signal her to calm down.

Then he said to Lin Su kindly, “Come and eat. We’re all family, don’t be so formal.”

Lin Su nodded and went to get a bowl.

The Qin family had a large population, and the table wasn’t big, so several people filled the table.

Qin’s father sat in the middle, and the fierce Qin’s mother sat on his right.

On his left was Qin’s eldest brother, who looked kind on the surface but was actually very scheming, with sneaky eyes looking around. His wife, Liu Yan, had to stand to eat because there weren’t enough seats.

The remaining seats were occupied by Qin’s eldest brother and Liu Yan’s three children. As for Qin Sui’s three children, they didn’t have seats.

Lin Su didn’t have a seat either, but she didn’t care. After serving herself some sweet potato porridge, seeing that there were only two plates of pickles and a small dish of leftover meat from yesterday’s banquet, she immediately lost her appetite.

Lin Su not only served herself but also saw that Qin Sui’s three children only had porridge in their bowls, so she simply took the meat dish and gave them some.

Then she gave them some pickles, but fearing that it was too salty for the children, she only gave each of them a little.

This operation stunned the Qin family.
