Chapter 26: Let Me Massage Your Waist

Upon seeing Xia Chunyu, Song Yuzhou replied calmly, “I’m married.”

Hearing that, Xia Chunyu stood there stunned for a moment. “You really got married?”

She had heard last night that Song Yuzhou had brought home a beautiful wife, but she didn’t believe it. After all, he already had three kids. No matter how outstanding he was, what young girl would willingly marry a man with that kind of baggage?

She assumed it was just a rumor—Song Yuzhou couldn’t possibly have gotten married.

But after waiting all night and not seeing him bring the kids over to her house for dinner as usual, she started to panic. So this morning, she came over early.

As they spoke, a soft, sweet voice rang out: “Comrade Yuzhou~”

Xia Chunyu looked up to see a girl in a spaghetti-strap nightdress appear before her. Her long, shapely legs and casually draped black hair gave off a lazy, sensual vibe.

She was stunning.
Xia Chunyu had always thought she looked decent herself, but compared to this girl, she paled completely.

“Did we wake you?” Song Yuzhou turned and strode toward her with long steps.

Xia Chunyu noticed a softness in his voice she’d never heard before. He was always cold and distant—especially toward women.

Jiang Zhi Ning leaned slightly and said playfully, “My waist hurts.”

Her watery, tender eyes looked up at him with teasing affection. Her tone was half-complaint, half-flirtation.

Embarrassed, Song Yuzhou muttered, “Want me to massage it?”

They spoke as if no one else were there, and though Xia Chunyu was still an unmarried girl, she fully understood what they were implying.

“Brother Yuzhou…” she tried to call his attention back.

Jiang Zhi Ning lazily lifted her gaze and smiled sweetly, “Comrade Yuzhou, I just heard this young lady mention her home. Could she be… your mistress?”

Before the question had even fully landed, Song Yuzhou quickly said, “No.”

His quick response made it seem like he was afraid she’d misunderstand.

“Oh?” Jiang Zhi Ning arched an eyebrow, clearly waiting for an explanation.

“She just came to ask why I didn’t go to her house for dinner,” Song Yuzhou explained honestly.

“Sounds like you and Miss Xia are pretty close, huh? Going to her house for meals and all that. Must be a regular thing?” Jiang Zhi Ning smiled innocently, but her eyes warned him not to mess this up.

Song Yuzhou met her eyes without wavering. “When I was away and Xiao Ye and Xiao Chen were in school, Aunt Xia helped look after Xi Xi. So they’d eat at her house often. Xia Chunyu is Aunt Xia’s daughter.”

Hearing this, Jiang Zhi Ning’s smile returned. “Ah, I see.”

Then she looked over at Xia Chunyu again. She wasn’t stupid—she could clearly see that Xia Chunyu had feelings for Song Yuzhou.

After a long moment, Xia Chunyu managed to recover and awkwardly said, “So… you really did get married, huh?”

“Yep. Song Yuzhou is my man now,” Jiang Zhi Ning said cheekily. “Looks like he won’t be going over to your place anymore. I’m the jealous type. My husband only eats the meals I cook.”

She turned to Song Yuzhou, “Right, honey?”

He nodded. “At home, I only eat your cooking. Can’t do that in the military camp, though.”

Jiang Zhi Ning leaned forward teasingly. “What if I’m in a bad mood one day and don’t want to cook?”

“I’ll cook for you,” Song Yuzhou replied seriously.

Jiang Zhi Ning’s eyes curved with a smile, and she playfully pinched his cheek. “My Comrade Yuzhou is just too adorable.”

Song Yuzhou’s face turned beet red, but he didn’t stop her.

Xia Chunyu looked on in disbelief. Was this really the same Commander Song who was always cold and distant, who never got close to women?

Suddenly remembering there was still another person present, Song Yuzhou turned to Xia Chunyu and asked, “Is there anything else?”

Seeing the affection between him and another woman, Xia Chunyu felt a pang of heartbreak. “No… nothing.”

“Then please leave. My wife needs rest,” Song Yuzhou said emotionlessly, clearly dismissing her.

His coldness made her nose sting. She lowered her eyes. “Then… I won’t bother you anymore, Brother Yuzhou.”

Covering her mouth, she turned and ran off sadly.

Watching her go, Jiang Zhi Ning crossed her arms and said casually, “Comrade Yuzhou is really something. Seems Miss Xia has a crush on you.”

“I don’t like her. I only see her as a younger sister,” Song Yuzhou clarified.

Jiang Zhi Ning was just about to respond when a soft voice came from below: “Mama, hug.”

She looked down curiously and saw Xi Xi standing there in a little dress, hair tousled, eyes drowsy from sleep.

Her cheeks puffed adorably, and Jiang Zhi Ning’s heart melted.

After spending last night together, Xi Xi had already accepted her new, beautiful mother.

Just as Jiang Zhi Ning bent down to pick her up, Song Yuzhou beat her to it. “Mama’s not feeling well today and needs to rest. She can’t carry you.”

Xi Xi tilted her head and blinked her big eyes. “Why is Mama not feeling well?”

“It’s Papa’s fault,” Song Yuzhou said solemnly.

“Did Papa bully Mama?” Xi Xi asked.

“Mm-hmm.”

“How did Papa bully Mama?”

After thinking a moment, Song Yuzhou replied, “Spanked… her butt?”

Hearing that, Jiang Zhi Ning felt her cheeks heat up. Did this man really just say that in front of a child?

Thank goodness no other adults were around, or she’d want to crawl into a hole.

The next second, Xi Xi wriggled out of Song Yuzhou’s arms.

Just as Jiang Zhi Ning wondered what she was doing, Xi Xi ran behind Song Yuzhou and started slapping his butt with her little hands.

“Papa hit Mama’s butt, so Xi Xi hits Papa’s butt. That way Mama gets her revenge!”

She gave him a few more good smacks, then ran back to Jiang Zhi Ning with a big smile. “Mama, I avenged you! You’re not mad at Papa anymore, right?”

Seeing the sweet and sensible little girl, Jiang Zhi Ning’s heart softened completely. “No, Mama’s not mad.”

“Then Xi Xi won’t disturb Mama’s rest,” she said as she toddled back to her room.

Watching her go, Jiang Zhi Ning asked curiously, “Such a well-behaved daughter—how could your ex-wife not want her?”

“She probably saw the kids as burdens,” Song Yuzhou replied in a low voice.

“I’ll help you raise them,” Jiang Zhi Ning said with a warm smile.

She had never had a real family, but now that she did, she wanted to cherish it.

Looking into her clear eyes, Song Yuzhou felt a rush of emotion. Without another word, he bent down and scooped her up.

Startled, Jiang Zhi Ning instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, blinking in confusion.

Back in their room, Song Yuzhou closed the door and walked to the bed. He gently placed her down.

Then, he reached for the hem of her sleep dress.

“You…” she blushed. It’s the middle of the day—don’t tell me he wants to…

“I’m massaging your waist,” he said seriously.
