Zhao Tingyuan has been particularly restless lately.
“Wake up, honey,” a woman’s gentle voice whispered in his ear.
Feeling irritable, lately he had been stripped of power within the company.
Most of the company’s affairs were now personally managed by Zhao Quan.
Zhao Yayuan had returned to Ancheng, and boldly refused to come back home.
It felt like a slap in the face.
He didn’t even want to see Su Qingyou anymore.
If it weren’t for her influence, how could he have done those things? Zhao Yayuan was his own younger brother, whom he had watched grow up.
How could he bear it?
Su Qingyou softly said, “Honey, look, Xiuyi has grown teeth.”
The baby was still sleeping in the cradle, his cheeks like little dumplings.
He inherited most of the features of the Zhao family, with a pair of beautiful peach blossom eyes, sharp at the corners, short and dense eyelashes wet with moisture, and a small mouth that revealed two tiny milk teeth.
“Honey,” Su Qingyou thought he hadn’t heard her.
Feeling irritable, Zhao Tingyuan replied, “Stop calling, I heard you.”
His voice was heavy, tinged with suppressed irritability.
Babies are actually very sensitive to the emotional changes of adults.
Any slight change in the emotions of their parents can have a significant impact on infants.
Zhao Xiuyi was frightened and started crying.
“Why are you crying again?” Zhao Tingyuan said.
Babies couldn’t understand, they could only feel the rough treatment from their parents.
The crying grew louder.
Zhao Tingyuan was at a loss.
Su Qingyou called the nanny to come in and take Zhao Xiuyi away.
She gently soothed him in her arms, and the crying finally subsided.
This incident left Zhao Tingyuan even more restless.
“I told you not to go after Yayuan,” Zhao Tingyuan said. “Yayuan is my own brother. How could you treat him like that? Doesn’t your conscience ache?”
Su Qingyou softly said, “It’s my fault.”
“And what about Lu Zhihong?” Zhao Tingyuan asked sharply.
He couldn’t sleep just thinking about it.
Lu Zhihong had a complete chain of evidence.
If Jiang Wenyin found out about Lu Zhihong’s connection with them, everything would be ruined.
He might end up in a dead end, and his image in the eyes of his family would be completely shattered.
He tried to find Lu Zhihong, but the people sent by Qin Si had hardly left Lu Zhihong’s side.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t find any opportunity.
He knew that man very well. He was ruthless and meticulous in his planning.
There was simply no way to deal with him.
Zhao Tingyuan ran his fingers through his black hair, messing it up, like the prelude to a volcano erupting.
And speaking of Lu Zhihong.
Greedy, foolish, short-sighted, only interested in profit.
Now they had no use for him.
His daughter and Qin Si were in a relationship, and he now depended on them for everything, from living expenses to daily necessities.
Of course, he couldn’t betray Qin Si anymore, or stubbornly keep their secrets.
“Don’t be afraid,” Su Qingyou suddenly said.
She stood in the shadows, slightly behind Zhao Tingyuan.
“Listen, Tingyuan, you don’t need to worry about this matter anymore.”
Su Qingyou believed she could solve everything.
…..
The bathroom door was closed, and the faint sound of running water emanated from within.
Lying on the bed, Lu Nian laughed until she was exhausted, her small feet swinging.
She picked up her phone and checked the messages sent by the editor.
There were too many notifications on her phone.
Her recent book signing event was a great success.
The love story between Black and White, the Inspiration of Black was in the venue, had spread explosively online.
Some said it was fake, questioning why the prototype wasn’t revealed to the public.
Others claimed it was real, stating they had seen the mysterious, cool, and handsome man who looked just like Black.
But there wasn’t a single photo.
In any case, it caused a huge stir.
She had no intention of dragging Qin Si out for everyone to see.
He wasn’t a public figure, and of course, he deserved his privacy.
She thought, as long as she knew his goodness, that was enough.
She was aware of Black’s numerous passionate fans.
Why should she unnecessarily attract so many love rivals?
The sales of “Black and White” were very good, with first-day sales almost double what the editorial department had initially predicted.
The editorial department had already called her.
Hu Bian was ecstatic. “Hurry up and work overtime to draw more.”
“It’s definitely going to be reprinted. I’ve advised you so many times. Finally, there’s some return,” he said.
“What about the deal with Star Comics? Have you thought about it?” Hu Bian asked. “Do you plan to sell it to them? I think their adaptations are pretty good, respecting the original work, and the quality is decent. If you sell the rights to them, it couldn’t be better.”
“I’ll consider it after I finish drawing the next part,” Lu Nian replied, smiling. “If I don’t run into any obstacles and can smoothly continue, then I’ll sell it.”
“I have to say, Nian Nian, your productivity has been declining lately,” Hu Bian said sternly. “Don’t indulge too much. Stop when it’s just right.”
With a man hidden at home, Hu Bian couldn’t help but remind her, “Be careful. If you stop drawing, you won’t have any income, and won’t be able to support your man.”
Lu Nian laughed and fell back onto the bed. “You’re right. I’m motivated now. I’ll get up early tomorrow and start drawing.”
After hanging up the phone, she couldn’t help but chuckle.
It was rare for Hu Bian to actually think that Qin Si was her “kept” man, wasn’t it?
Was it because their relationship seemed so much like that?
Or was it because he looked like the type who could be kept by a woman?
Nevertheless, she made a serious decision to continue serializing the second half of the story.
After all, although Qin Si didn’t lack money now, she still wanted to contribute to the family.
Moreover, when they had a little baby in the future, she could show them animated adaptations of their mother’s comics.
Although Qin Si said he didn’t want children at all, this baby might not even exist.
Lu Nian sat on the bed like this, scrolling through her phone for quite a while.
She realized her phone was running low on battery, so she tilted her head to go to the bedside table and rummage through it, to see if there was a charger.
She spaced out for a moment.
In the drawer was a black short-sleeved t-shirt, neatly folded, obviously men’s clothing.
The house on Qiufeng Road was basically only visited by the two of them.
Was it Qin Si’s?
But this room had always been hers. From what she knew about Qin Si, after she left here, he would never set foot in this room again.
What’s underneath?
The more Lu Nian looked, the more familiar it seemed.
Suddenly she remembered.
These were items she had used here that year: towels, bath towels, a wooden comb, and more.
After their argument that year, she had said she would never come back here again, and Qin Si coldly remarked that it was just as well since he had thrown away all her stuff.
Why would they be here?
Lu Nian was a bit confused.
She reached out and carefully sifted through the pile of clothing, her expression suddenly becoming very vivid.
Just then, the bathroom door opened, and he came out.
Although by now, the two of them had practically done the most intimate things, and they had seen everything there was to see.
He was still very conservative and reserved, still changing his clothes in the bathroom first, revealing nothing, before coming out.
The hem of his clothes was not fully pulled down, revealing a small section of his slender waist, his skin as white as jade, his face slightly flushed from the steam, making his lips and teeth even more red and white, his soft black hair dripping with water droplets.
