Chapter 21
The man leaned against the headboard, his body’s lines once again fully on display before Ji Nuannuan.
She was momentarily dazed. If it hadn’t been for this physique, she wouldn’t have lost control so easily last night.
Her gaze trailed down the well-defined abs, until it landed on…
Something on the man seemed to be slowly “waking up.”
Unlike the dim lighting from the night before, the midday brightness now made every change far clearer to Ji Nuannuan.
In an instant, her face flushed red, and she quickly turned her head away.
“Why… why aren’t you wearing any clothes…”
“Hm?” Fu Jinghan’s deep, pleasant voice carried a teasing note. “It’s not like you haven’t seen it before. Still shy, Nuannuan?”
“Of course I’m shy… Why are you home? Didn’t you go to the office?”
“I couldn’t sleep after you dozed off,” he replied, still sounding a bit unsatisfied. “So I finished up all my work this morning. I wanted to spend more time with you.”
Couldn’t sleep? Ji Nuannuan had no idea what he meant!!!
After twenty-seven years of abstinence, Fu Jinghan had finally broken his monk-like streak—how could he be easily satisfied?
He was doing his best to restrain himself. What if he scared off his precious little darling now that she had finally accepted him?
But what could he do—she was just so delicate…
Looking at Ji Nuannuan on the bed, Fu Jinghan desperately held back the fire burning inside him.
“Are you hungry?”
Now that he mentioned it, Ji Nuannuan really did feel like her stomach was about to cave in. “I’m starving.”
Fu Jinghan stood up and started getting dressed.
Just a simple white shirt made him look refined and elegant—completely different from the wild, untamed man who had held her from behind the night before.
Once dressed, Fu Jinghan came over, gently kissed her forehead, and asked, “I’ll have Aunt Zhang bring up something for you. What would you like to eat?”
Bring it up? Wouldn’t that mean Aunt Zhang might see… Ji Nuannuan quickly glanced at the red mark on the bed and hurriedly said,
“No, I’ll go downstairs.”
She jumped out of bed in a fluster—but the moment she landed, she let out a small yelp. The soreness between her legs made her knees buckle.
Fu Jinghan immediately scooped her up. “Don’t push yourself. I’ll carry you.”
He carried Ji Nuannuan into the dressing room.
In front of the mirror, Ji Nuannuan saw the marks all over her body and quickly buried her face in Fu Jinghan’s chest.
The man clearly felt her soft nose brush against his chest and regretted carrying her here—it was becoming harder to hold back.
If this went on, his freshly worn clothes might be wasted.
Downstairs, the maids were busy preparing lunch when they saw the young master carrying the young madam down, her face shyly buried in his chest.
Wokao!
Are they about to give us a little young master or miss soon?!
After lunch, Fu Jinghan went to the office for a bit while Ji Nuannuan returned to her room to rest.
Just as she was about to fall asleep again, her phone buzzed.
It was a message.
Annoyed at being disturbed, Ji Nuannuan glanced at the screen. It was from an unfamiliar number—but the sender was Wei Yang.
“Nuannuan, it’s me. Why did you block all my contacts?”
“Did Fu Jinghan find out? I really miss you.”
“About that Fu Corporation contract I told you about—did you get it for me?”
“If you did, contact me ASAP. Once I land this project, I’ll take you away!”
Still exhausted, Ji Nuannuan blocked the number again and fell right back asleep.
Meanwhile, Fu Jinghan had only gone to the office to handle things that couldn’t be done via video call. As soon as he was finished, he rushed back.
Ever since getting physically close to Nuannuan, he felt an overwhelming desire to see her all the time.
He used to be able to control himself. Now, he didn’t even want to.
When Aunt Zhang saw Fu Jinghan return so soon after leaving, she thought something had happened.
“Young Master, why are you back so soon?” she asked anxiously.
“Nothing’s wrong. Where’s the Young Madam?”
“She’s upstairs.”
Fu Jinghan went to the bedroom, saw Ji Nuannuan still sleeping peacefully, and quietly retreated to the study.
When Ji Nuannuan finally woke again, the room was already dark.
She picked up her phone and saw it was past ten. She glanced beside her—Fu Jinghan wasn’t there.
Still half-asleep, she got out of bed and wandered to the study, where she found him sitting at his desk.
“Hubby~ When did you get back?” she asked softly.
Seeing her awake, Fu Jinghan quickly muted his mic and ended the video conference.
Immediately, the company executives created a private chat group:
“What was that just now? Was that a woman’s voice?”
“Pretty sure she called the CEO ‘hubby’.”
“No way! I took off my headset and missed it. Please share the clip.”
Ye Fan: “Stop talking nonsense.”
“Yes, sir.”
“I’m out.”
“Roger.”
Meanwhile, another new group quietly popped up:
“Who the hell added Ye the assistant? Are you trying to get us all killed?”
“Exactly! Ye can’t be trusted. He’ll snitch.”
“Sorry, sorry, I got excited and tapped too fast.”
“Anyway, what’s going on? Spill the tea!”
……
Back in the study—
“I just got back a little while ago. Sleep well?” Fu Jinghan asked gently, reaching out to ruffle her hair.
“Mhm~ I slept great.”
Nestled against his chest, Ji Nuannuan mumbled softly, her voice still carrying the drowsiness of sleep.
“You slept so much during the day. Can you still sleep tonight?”
“Of course! I’ve always been a great sleeper!” she replied proudly, tilting her chin up.
The angle gave Fu Jinghan the perfect opportunity to kiss her lips. Ji Nuannuan tried to lean back, but he had already wrapped his arm around her waist.
Thinking of last night—the way her waist was so slender, so soft, and moved so… well—Fu Jinghan felt heat surge through his body again.
