Chapter 12: See Her Sincerity
Fang Yicen panicked, following Jiang Jingchu.
“Mr. Jiang, please calm down. We have many excellent designers. If you and Ms. Ji like Song Yali’s design, I can assign her to your project.”
Seeing Jiang Jingchu’s grim expression, Fang Yicen was sweating.
“Team Leader Qin is just straightforward. If she offended you, I’ll have her apologize.”
The elevator arrived. Jiang Jingchu and Ji Jingya entered, turning to look at Fang Yicen.
“I’ll be waiting to see your company’s sincerity.”
Back in the conference room, Qin Huan was packing up. Song Yali sat with her arms crossed, furious.
“Don’t drag us down with you! You think you’re so important just because you studied abroad! You dared to challenge Mr. Jiang! If we lose this project, you’ll bear the consequences!”
She was especially upset seeing Qin Huan’s indifferent expression. Fang Yicen returned.
“Director, what did Mr. Jiang say?”
Fang Yicen shook his head, sighing. He waved at Song Yali.
“Leave. I need to talk to Team Leader Qin.”
Song Yali sensed something was wrong.
“It was Qin Huan who offended Mr. Jiang, not us! Why should we suffer because of her?”
Fang Yicen was already flustered.
“Get out! Stop complaining!”
He rarely lost his temper. Song Yali, despite her anger, didn’t dare to argue. Glaring at Qin Huan, she left.
After the door closed, Qin Huan finished packing.
“I’m sorry, Director Fang. If I caused the loss of the Jiang project, I’ll try to compensate.”
“But I don’t think my design was flawed. Even if I was blunt, it was because Mr. Jiang was nitpicking first.”
Fang Yicen rubbed his temples. He couldn’t afford to offend either Jiang Jingchu or Qin Huan, who the boss wanted him to take care of.
“Compensate? How?”
Qin Huan said calmly,
“I have many clients. The combined value is similar to Mr. Jiang’s project.”
Fang Yicen shook his head.
“It’s not just about the money. Mr. Jiang’s status and background make him a trendsetter in North City. This project would bring immeasurable benefits to the company!”
Qin Huan frowned. She hadn’t considered that.
Fang Yicen continued,
“And Mr. Jiang doesn’t know you. Why would he nitpick?”
Qin Huan couldn’t tell him that Jiang Jingchu was her ex boyfriend and held a grudge against her.
She looked at the ceiling and sighed.
“Director Fang, tell me what you want.”
“An apology.”
Qin Huan frowned.
“Is that Mr. Jiang’s request?”
Fang Yicen didn’t answer.
“Mr. Jiang said he wanted to see our sincerity.”
Qin Huan was silent for a moment.
“Okay, I understand.”
Fang Yicen hummed.
“Don’t delay.”
Leaving the office, Qin Huan noticed her colleagues had dispersed, looking at her with reproach. Song Yali had surely spread the story.
Back at her desk, she thought for a long time, finally texting Zhou Tiantian.
“Tiantian, do you have Jiang Jingchu’s number?”
Zhou Tiantian was having lunch with colleagues. She replied immediately.
“It’s the same one. Why do you need it?”
Qin Huan was surprised he hadn’t changed his number. Considering his personality, he would have cut off all contact. She explained what happened.
Zhou Tiantian gulped down a piece of braised pork.
“What does Brother Jing mean? Is he getting revenge?”
“You’re so bold! You even took his ex girlfriend’s wedding project!”
Qin Huan: I didn’t want to. The director insisted.
Zhou Tiantian: Are you really going to apologize?
Qin Huan: Do I have a choice?
Zhou Tiantian sighed.
“I feel sorry for you. What a mess!”
She added,
“Should I go with you?”
Qin Huan: No. I’m apologizing, not dying.
Zhou Tiantian thought it was basically the same thing, considering Jiang Jingchu’s personality.
Jiang Jingchu sat in the backseat, reviewing documents, silent. Ji Jingya observed him.
“Still angry?”
Jiang Jingchu hummed, turning a page.
“What kind of designer did you find?”
Ji Jingya smiled.
“Ms. Qin is very good. She’s won many awards. Her style matches mine.”
Jiang Jingchu raised an eyebrow, still looking at the documents.
“So you still want her to design your house?”
Ji Jingya shrugged.
“Not necessarily. Ms. Song is also good. I wanted them to submit proposals, but…”
She paused playfully.
“Since you and Ms. Qin disagree, I’ll tell Director Fang to choose Ms. Song.”
Jiang Jingchu closed the documents, rubbing his temples.
“Not yet. Let’s see.”
Ji Jingya was curious.
“See what?”
Jiang Jingchu glanced at her, saying nothing.
Ji Jingya smiled.
“You weren’t interested in the house before, but now you are.”
Jiang Jingchu chuckled.
“You said my mother would ask me about it, and I wouldn’t know anything.”
Ji Jingya nodded, her eyes sparkling.
“It’s rare for you to remember what I say.”
